Could be the start of something good.

It could be interesting to let them have moments throughout the season where play calling is handed off to someone else to give them experience and to throw off the competition. You get used to someone's methods or play calling and think it's predictable and then someone else starts calling and they get thrown off completely because someone else is calling it.

Panthers add four more to the practice squad

Where did we downgrade? -
What a weird discussion.

Yeah....we still have BY at QB, but it seems like we've moved past that for the most part. Still not sure why Ian Thomas is still around aside from being an OK blocker, but this coaching staff and FO seem intent on getting in here who they think fits their idea and aren't afraid of letting go of people who don't. Good example is what they did in the secondary with waivers. They worked hard with a crew of DBs through training camp and preseason and then figured that we'd just rather go a different direction. You may not like the choices, but the fact that they aren't sitting back and just trying to make it work with whoever we got and are intent on doing what we can to make the roster better. We aren't a team resting on its pathetic laurels. We have a team that is, instead, actively working to get better and taking every opportunity to make that happen, even if it means giving up on guys like TMJ. I'm not saying that the team is fixed or we've got all the answers, but I am saying that we're working towards and getting it figured out.

I don't have a problem with any of this.

Worse OL? Nah can't say this year is worse. We got 2 legit and proven OGs. What did we have last year? WR? TE? RBs? QB? Not seeing it. Who did we lose or add that makes it worse? DL? How? Looks like we upgraded there. Edge? Burns for Clowney? Both produce, except we got a better run defender (and someone who doesn't half ass it). LBs? I don't know....seems like a push there. Same with the secondary. I just don't see this being a worse roster than last year, especially not "clearly". -
Who? Seriously, his tenure here seems like ancient history.

I'm looking forward to playing them. I think we give them a pretty good beating.

we don't have to look like we're a playoff team. we just have to look like we're trending towards being a good team. We have to see legit potential and improvement. and the burden of it has to spread across all fronts. if we are expecting to be carried by only one or two parts of the team, we're failing. All this needs to be clicking all season: OL blocking, receivers getting open and catching the ball, run game pushing forward, BY being the field general he needs to be, and the whole unit moving the ball forward into the end zone.

who else was doing them in training camp/preseason? the way it sounded from morgan/tilis they were looking at blackshear as being the return guy.

i think it was just a matter of trying to buy us a little time to figure out a couple spots. He agreed to stick with the practice squad so he must have been told he would be back. Since he was a vet he wasn't going to be picked up in waivers so we didn't have to worry about losing him through that. He was probably one of the safest to put there if we were sure he was coming back. -

i feel good about this combo of Sanders, Matthews, and Tremble. Tremble is kind of fun to watch and the guy can make some big plays. And then there's Ian. I guess he can block and we need that so.... -

that was one i was really stressing over. seems like too good of a big target for Bryce. Couldn't imagine that a couple of the WRs we initially kept were a better receiving option than him.- 40 replies

Once he gets going, and i'm confident he will, we'll be glad we have him.

Top tier QBs ALWAYS throws when the opportunity is there and NEVER messes them up. They ALWAYS make the best decisions.
