  1. i thought they were getting rid of it. they should. it's worthless and completely unnecessary.
  2. of course gettleman wanted him and was the only one that wanted him after we let him go. he's the clown that drafted him and 2 other CBs after he cut josh norman loose. we drafted him only after everyone else that we were hoping for was gone. someone in here who had a source in or close to the war room told a few of us that everyone they wanted was gone and their plan had gone down the crapper so be prepared to hear the name of some small school CB you've never heard of announced. one or two minutes later we hear his name. pure desperation move.
  3. stick with 1pm (or 4pm if away game is called for) on Sundays for all week whether we're good or bad. i'm not sure why anyone would want to broadcast us on a primetime game unless it's to make some hyped up team look good.
  4. i remember how hard this team worked to return to any sense of home field advantage. sure didn't last long.
  5. some will ask, "are you saying that Corral is as good as Wilson? Is that why he should start as a rookie?" but Seattle didn't know how good Wilson was until they put him on the field. We aren't going to know what he can handle unless they give him something to handle. Put him in and see what we've got. Like you said...we already know how sammy is when the pressure is on. Everything has to be ideal for him to do well. Nothing stays ideal for long.
  6. yeah, i think they'll give sammy a chance (which they should just roll with whoever shows themselves to have command of the offense and steps up as a leader in TC and in preseason games), but sammy will probably get a few games to see if he can do better with an improved OL and OC calling the shots. but i'm also hoping they have a really critical eye and keep sammy on a short leash. he shows the first sign of seeing ghosts or skittishness and we yank him out and put Corral in.
  7. We definitely have options. I think BC is the easy answer for LG long term, but Mays could be that guy too. Or he could put in a challenge for center? I don't know. I just know it's good to finally have decent options and a good OL coach. i just hope that we can get long term contracts for Bozeman and Corbett. We need not just talent on that OL, but we need a group of guys who will be together for several years. Yes, we definitely need to get someone working beside Icky long term, but we need to get that whole line in there long term as well. 5 guys who can dominate as a unit and a few guys who can fill in with little being noticed.
  8. Its not often someone comes in with a suitable and rocking theme song already made. I expect to hear it often with every pancake.
  9. Yes. No way Jimmy G hits FA unless they feel confident Trey is ok....which seems not to be the case.
  10. Agreed. We fixed the OL and that set it up for a rookie to start. The run game will also make it easier and having an OC like MacAdoo and QB coach like Ryan will also make it easier because they'll be able to help open the playbook at a good pace for Corral and get him coached up along the way. And Corral is a tough enough character that he'd be able to withstand the pressure. If he can't hack it as a rookie, he likely won't be able to hack it at all. He's not like Sammy needing to be coddled.
  11. What an annoying little thread.
  12. Two things HAVE to happen first. 1) Jimmy G becomes a free agent 2) Sammy and his contract disappear. Neirher one of these are likely to happen and the chances of both of them happening are pretty much nil.
  13. This. There won't be two playbooks, just the one that they all have to learn. There won't be any switching midstream of schekse, that would set everyone back too far. Either Sammy can do it or not. If not, put in the guy that can. It's that simple.
  14. Yep. It's all speculation a this point. Best hope to be good is Corral doing well (and Rhule not fugging things up too bad).
  15. The run D was a huge problem last year, but not as big as OL has been for years. I feel we took care of the OL this year. I'm hoping that they throw as much effort into fixing the run D. Beef up the DL and draft ILB early.
  16. The fact that we would have had to given up so much to get him is what bothered me the most. It would have crippled the team for years and he would have had to be better than peak Cam to overcome that.....which he definitely isn't.
  17. Next year we add beef to the middle. If Corral pans out, that becomes the priority.
  18. I like it. I'm not quite there with my Corral optimism, but I'm feeling pretty good that he'll be good
  19. this has me pumped up about both guys. Icky will make his presence known early and will be a captain quickly based on that and everything else i've heard about him. he's a presence this OL and this team has needed. as far as Corral goes, i really don't think it will take long for him to rise above sammy in all aspects. he might just step up enough as a leader that starting him day 1 would be a no brainer. i know a lot of people think he or any rookie QB should sit a year, but that's mainly if they have any questions about confidence and mental fortitude. i think Corral has it a lot more than sammy and it won't take long for everyone to see it.
  20. Thank you for doing this. I've been thinking about it for a few days but i just didn't have time.
  21. good points about trying to correct the gait and you're probably also right about this more trying to make darnold not look like the tunnel visioned goon he is. i know that tannehill got counseling, but darnold probably needs it more. i'm hoping that his next team will make it available.
