The one area that we always need to be adding to is OL. DT is probably 2nd with DE third. The DL and OL should always have depth added. Every year. If you aren't sure what direction to go or if you're choosing from players of different positions and it's a toss up, look at the trenches first.

I don't expect it, but considering how quick the turnaround is for successful teams in the league, 3 years is plenty of time for a coach to take a team to a deep run in the playoffs. That should have been the expectation, and it would have been a completely reasonable one, not the 7 years that they have been talking about to turn around a team. and back off the calling people fools, alright? Considering how successful coaches can turn around a teams and make even the most dysfunctional of teams into the playoffs and even a superbowl within 3-4 years (hell, we've done it here twice with new coaches taking on worse teams with worse records), it's completely reasonable and rational to expect a new coach to have their team in the playoffs within 3 years. if Rhule can't get that done, we've got the wrong coach. The fact that we didn't improve from year 1 to year 2 is a bad sign for him and if there isn't a drastic improvement this year, then that's more evidence we hired the wrong guy.

You're making it sound like the majority of people are saying that kind of thing and you are one of the few voices of reason feeling it necessary to tell people to tap the brakes. 1) I doubt he seriously feels like that and 2) if he does, does that harm you? What's the big fugging deal if some or even a lot of people are excited about the prospect of a potential franchise QB drafted in the 3rd round? I mean is that a bad thing? Optimism? Hopefulness? How fugging long had it been since we had someone to possibly look forward to around this joint? Is he a franchise savior? Probably not, but he could be. So why not get a little excited?

Corral needs competition. It will help him win the team over. Going against Cam would be good for him rather than just being handed the gig. Who better to win the job against than a legend?

That's just silly. People feel optimistic about it. Literally no one is even saying anything remotely to the effect that he'll even be a pro bowler. Just that he's got traits that could help him be a good starter and could be someone special. Only ones exaggerating or going over the top is you and @mrcompletely11 in the way you are talking about people's optimism and hopes. Everyone else is being pretty rational and measured in their hopes for the guy.

If he's got "it", it won't take long to do it. Within a couple games they'll see what they've got and they'll respond one way or the other. It's when he's tested they'll see if he needs coddled or if he's a fighter. Sammy fell on his face when he was tested. And then when given another chance he took the opportunity and fell on his face again. He needs everything to be ideal and struggles to face adversity. He needs coddled. He's not a fighter. I don't think you can say that about Corral. What remains to be seen is if he's a pitbull or a dachshund.

This is the beginning of the third year and he should be leading his team into a deep playoff run this year. If he doesn't make that happen, he should be be fired. That's where the line is for him or any other new head coach. They should all be held to that standard. I've been saying that for a long time. This is his do or die year. If we don't have a winning record at the very least heading into the bye week he should be fired then.

We're behind where we should be because we hired a guy to run an NFL team with no real experience in the NFL. He's getting experience now, but he still set us back. He's learning now, but its poo a head coach at the NFL level should have come to the job with. We should be making a deep run in the playoffs this year. That's where we should be with a coach hired 3 years ago. We wasted a lot of time getting this team right because we hired the wrong guy.

Absolutely. There should be no question here. If your QB breaks down, who gives you a better chance...sammy of Cam? who do you want more on the sidelines during the game? Sam or Cam? Who will do a better job of getting players and fans charged up? Sam or Cam? If Corral needs extra time and needs a bridge before he starts (which I don't think is the case) who do you want on that field and helping him grow into it? Sam or Cam? In fact I'd rather have Cam than any other available options out there. Cam wasn't just the ultimate player and competitor, he was and is the ultimate teammate.

Same here. I mean the first couple things I noticed about him was that quick accurate throw and how smooth he was with play action stuff...and then there's the scrambling and rushing. Guy looks like he's got it all. But then the more I watched his games and saw how he was with his guys in the huddle and on the sidelines, his demeanor and how they responded... he's got it. He's got them. I saw it with Jake, I definitely saw it with Cam from the first game I watched of his in the Iron Bowl. Being that guy who gets his teammates focused, in line when called for, and charged up is key. I didn't see that with Sammy or Teddy or any other QBs here in the last couple decades. A QB needs to not just pull the best out of himself and be a good player, he needs to pull the best out of the team around him and make them be better players and his character is what will cause people around him to respond too him, just like they did with Jake and Cam.

Not doing well probably had to do with dumb questions being asked and being tired of answering them. Each person asks the same question and you have to answer like its the first time you answered them. There were probably a lot of questions about his off field stuff which, when you've moved on, would have been hard to deal with being brought up over and over when all you want to do is talk football and how you are with the team.

Exactly the kind of stuff I was thinking in would see from both guys. Calm, focused, intelligent, and handled dumb questions well. You can tell these guys are ready for the big stage and they take their craft seriously.

Distraction for who? The fans? Screw 'em. Distraction for the team? No way. He plays whatever role he's needed for. If its a bridge, he'll be a bridge. If its as a mentor, he'll do that (its not like he's a fragile emo kid like Tannehill in TN). Fitt talked about him saying that he's a selfless leader, which could be a huge benefit for Corral. At the very least Cam would be a backup who would be great to have in the QB room, the lockerroom, in practice, and on the sidelines cheating everyone on and making everyone feel better about what they were doing. He spreads confidence, which is what this team needs. Last year, it was too far gone. This year, you bring him in at the beginning and he could really do some good. Hardly anyone think she could be the guy he was in 2015, but he can still compete on the field and he can still contribute of it.

I think that Corral has a good bit of that in him anyways, the leadership traits...especially vocal. But Cam takes it all to a level I don't think I've ever seen before. If Corral can catch even a little bit of that, I think he could be good for us.

Bring him in. He's not what he used to be on the field, but we need him on those sidelines at the very least and at the most, he can really help Corral along. He's got a lot to offer in a lot of ways...so much more than sammy.
