  1. i see what you're asking now. wasn't completely clear in the OP. How to cope with the team as it is, right? i have become less and less attached to this team, probably as a defense mechanism and at the very least as a way to cope with a team that has rhule as HC and is spinning it's wheels. for me, it is about rhule. i refuse to stay invested in a team invested in matt rhule. is my way of coping any better than any other. probably not and don't care if is. it's just how i am doing it. everyone has their own way and it's legitimate for them. not everyone believes that each should have their own way. lots of people judging others for their way of coping. and that's fine too, but they should know that they don't get to pick how each fan responds to the team and that it's perfectly alright if others don't have the same mindset. and if you can't handle the difference in opinions or think it makes the place unbearable...there's a solution: stay away. and regarding the comment someone else made that all threads come back to rhule...he's kind of the center of the team and many believe he's the source of most problems. HC is kind of important. it's only natural that when you are talking about elements of the team that isn't going well, that you look to the guy running it.
  2. why would we be better off trying to replace rhule? because maybe...just maybe... we won't be walking into a chess match after putting together a killer checkers gameplan. because maybe we wouldn't get outcoached by even the worst coaches in the league. i don't know. maybe...
  3. the problem is that this team is going to HAVE to carry him and they can never walk into a game being as prepared or schemed or managed better than the other team. it's great that they love him and play hard for him, but he's holding them back. desire doesn't win games by itself.
  4. Rushing offense : 31st - with a healthy CMC Rushing defense : 31st - at least we're consistent.
  5. yes. that was my point. rhule blames it on the lack of time with the team. brissett won with less time w/ the starters. that's not saying that baker had ample time...because he didn't. but don't use the lack of time as an excuse for the L. brissett had less time and baker could have had more time were it not for the "competition".
  6. rivera never did this either..at least not until near the end but you know it was forced. and rivera was pretty much fox 2.0
  7. aside from the falcons mid season, it's not going to be getting much better schedule-wise for the team than these first couple games. if we don't get it right this week...we likely won't.
  8. why did they play badly? lack of preparedness? poor gameplan? who is to blame for that? own it.
  9. my questions for rhule: how much time did brissett have with the browns first team? how much time did we spend on a "competition" that everyone knew would result in baker starting? he was only 30-40 days? yes....but how many of those days did he lose snaps with the first team in that "competition"? you KNEW baker was going to be the starter. you KNEW you only had 30-40 days. time was short and you chose to ignore that to play your little coaching game. you KNEW that you were putting up a rookie OL in his first start against one of the best DEs in the game....and you still 1) had him take part in a competition that was unnecessary losing needed reps and 2) left him alone for half the game against that premier DE. there is a long list of things that you KNEW were issues or would be issues but you kept to your bigger plan...whatever that is. good for you...you stuck to your guns. but the team loses because you are looking at too big of a picture. and if you didn't know these were or would be issues then you're a fool because everyone could see it. you aren't doing things that result in wins. until you do...you're a failure. winning is all that matters.
  10. we didn't lose because of a field goal. we lost because we were poorly prepared coming into the game, we took too long to make adjustments, and because of just overall poor game management. that's a recurring theme throughout rhule's tenure and by looking at this first game of the year, it's safe to assume there will be more of that.
  11. I don't really have anyone in mind though. At this point it's almost anyone other than rhule.
  12. I don't care if he's not a long term solution and if he pisses people off, just go jim harbaugh
  13. Even if that poo were for real....at some point in the first half there's got to be some light that flashes on and says, "hey....you know this might not be working!" I mean could you all see that what we were doing wasn't working? We don't even have to know exactly what the game plan was to know that it's not working. We don't have to be employed by the Panthers or any football team to notice it. When you see it's not working...go to fuggin plan B and always have a fuggin plan B that you can go to on a dime.
  14. fortunately i played against the guy in my work league that has him this week. of course he beat me anyways, but i told him to enjoy the big score he's going to get next week.
  15. it was an issue last year. it's an issue this year. we don't do well against power teams. we were built for speed (college).
  16. garrett should have been doubled up from the beginning. not sure why it took so long to adjust. everyone could see it was giving the rookie problems.
  17. it's the toughest matchup until Barkley next week.
  18. will MR be here next year? i mean until that's answered we aren't likely going to be anywhere close to addressing MC.
  19. i was more thinking about the coaching staff. i'm cool with fitt and curious to see what direction he would go with a HC.
