  1. ickey made that draft a success. that was the #1 priority...well, that and a QB but whatever. imo, we needed to get that OL set up a year before we got our franchise QB. we now need to keep that gang together, especially without rhule getting his fingers in the mix. but as long as we 1) got our LT and 2) didn't give away any picks that we might need to secure our franchise QB this year, it was a success.
  2. of course he would. he has an image to protect. the guy thinks that the world revolves around him.
  3. so THIS is the year we should be drafting a QB. screw waiting. Go BSA (best score available).
  4. imo, this is our top priority in FA.
  5. QBs: Stroud, Geno, Corral WRs: DJ, JuJu (FA), draft pick (one of the UT WRs), TMJ, Shenault, Andre Roberts TEs: Gisicki (FA), Dalton Kincaid (draft), Tremble RBs: D'Onta Foreman, draft pick (maybe Mcintosh earlier or Bigsby later), Chuba OL: same starters as last year + cade mays. get rid of other guys and draft a couple mid rounders and pick up a bargain FA or two.
  6. I updated the OP and I'll just keep it pinned until *someone* does a write-up to replace it.
  7. Evero said that people make too much of a big deal about the base D because it's used only for a few plays a game, the rest of it is sub packages. i'd like us to get some power on the other side of burns and some more bulk in the interior, but overall i think it isn't going to be hard to fill holes to fit what Evero wants to do because mostly he's just going to be working around what is here.
  8. i've been thinking a little about this and i'm wondering if their method of choosing coaches will carry over into how they choose free agents. we've seen a good cross section of older experienced coaches combined with a good cross section of young hot shot coaches. i wonder if they are going to go after older vets who are smart mentors to work with the younger guys they have already and will be acquiring through the draft.
  9. yeah, it was obviously written by someone that isn't really paying attention to the team. i'm surprised that its Jeremiah that did it.
  10. i saw that a couple days ago. my reaction...
  11. yeah i think this staff was built to develop a QB. not take a developed one. they want to shape a QB and shape a system around him. and it's built \so that successors to whoever gets a HC job will have an in house replacement. they've thought this thing through. they have guys in the wings who are prime to move up into OC or DC jobs just like they have guys who are prime to move up into HC jobs.
  12. True, but how are you going to know if you don't swing? Seriously, what would you give up for Mahomes?
  13. True. Anything is possible. I think we should be ready for anything and be ok with anything. For all I know it could be that Levis is the guy, or Tanner McKee, or friggin Sam Darnold. It could be they think Carr could be it. It could be that they feel comfortable waiting for AR at #9. Or it might be that they think either Stroud or Young is the guy and they feel they have to move up to 5, 3, or 1 to get the guy they want. Getting their QB is the most important thing and they'll do whatever it takes to get their guy.
  14. Not only are they the best evaluators we've seen, it's a group of the best coaches at the most important position. Very little reason to not feel good about whatever they do.
  15. All this other stuff I said in this thread. Basically, this isn't some hack like hurney or Rhule. This isn't even just one incredibly intelligent HC or GM. It's a collection of brilliant minds from different backgrounds and experiences who, I'm sure, would all have to come to a consensus on a move this bold and big. Based on the fact that this is one of the biggest collections of experts in their field, especially regarding QB...it's much more likely that whatever choice they make together will be the right one.
  16. Much more of a chance that they get it right than not...if that's what they want to do
  17. They might not, but if anyone in Panthers history deserves the benefit of the doubt it's these guys. Whatever call they make is going to be the right one. Incredibly thin chance that they aren't successful in making the decision.
  18. Yeah I'm quoting myself, but in addition to all this there is the George Li element. Consider what Li did in quizzing HC candidates, throwing situations up in tape and seeing what each QB prospect saw and thinks with everyone watching. I mean every QB prospect, whether FA, trade, or draft pick will be heavily scrutinized by a group of QB experts and analysts the likes of which few teams have ever seen, and your acting like we have hurney and Rhule making the pick? Have some faith in this staff.
  19. Seriously, some of you think there's a real chance that these guys wiff?
  20. If Reich, Caldwell, and McCown sign off on the guy (whoever it is) and all think that he's the one to build the team around and say "whatever it takes, get him"....then we get him. I'm sorry, but I'm trusting this brain trust/staff completely over any of the clowns in here. Whatever call this staff makes on a QB is going to be the right one.
  21. Jourdan Rodrique said, knowing Evero and his tendencies that Evero may use Chinn in a hybrid role similar to Jalen Ramsey. they pretty much created a position for him and put him in a lot of different roles.
