  1. Say your drafting Young without actually saying your drafting him. Looks like there's a few fans that are going to have to get counseling.
  2. appearance is nearly everything, which is why you have players flopping dramatically. refs have to notice it and notice it as a big deal.
  3. hate it for his family, especially that young daughter. hopefully she has some good family to take care of her.
  4. it could be. it helps that he's a really likeable guy. not that cam wasn't, but there were a lot of people irrationally put off by him and i think that he was targeted more than other QBs and more was allowed by refs because of his personality. i think stuff like that looks more dramatic and is easier to see with smaller individuals so it always looks worst. players would have to learn that they won't be able to get away with anything close to looking like a roughing the passer play and they'll pull back more.
  5. the thing that i'm loving is that he's coming to the game mentally well ahead of any from this class and ahead of where most QBs have come into the league...i mean that's the insight from people within and around the league. i've got no doubt that this is one area that he'd be able to clean up. every other aspect, i'm just excited about seeing him do, no matter who drafts him. he's going to be a fun guy to watch.
  6. i've watched this game a couple times and he des get some really hard hits. some of them bordering on late and maybe even cheap shots. he handled it well i think. i do think that people came after Cam hard and refs let it happen 1) because (as they said) he was big and he could handle it better and 2) because (and they didn't come out and say this , but you knew it) they didn't like his personality and felt he needed to be knocked down a few pegs. Young 1) doesn't have size so they can't use that one and 2) he can't be misconstrued the way Cam was as being cocky. i don't think he'll have it as rough as Cam was allowed to have it.
  7. people didn't think that Cam would fit in the NFL game. he did. people don't think that Young will fit in the NFL game. he will.
  8. I'm excited. been excited even though i haven't had any certainty about who will be the pick...i just feel like they are going to make the best call and we've got some good QBs to pick from. i still am not totally sure who the pick will be, even though it's looking more and more like Young will be the pick. i'm just excited to hear that name called (whatever name it is) and the watch him in TC and then preseason games, and then in the regular season leading this team to a deep run in the playoffs.
  9. lol they named the kid "CJ"? red "state" jerseys? this can't be any kind of accident.
  10. I will say that whoever we draft at QBwill do better than the guy(s) we didn't draft just because of coaching and the overall situation. I just feel that we are better set up for success than Houston or Indy for sure.
  11. That's where I'm at. But I won't take it as an indictment against the guy who gets passed over. New coach from a defensive background may value defensive players higher than offensive and he may feel that he can still get a respectable starter with their #12.
  12. absolutely. i hope we're never in this situation again, but since we're in it i don't think there's a better dilemma to have. whoever we pick, especially if it's either young or stroud, we can count on to be an absolute stud for years. and if they think it's AR, then giddyup because if any coaching staff can take all that potential and help him reach it, it's us.
  13. don't you know we're voting on it, which is why it is so important to convince everyone else that they are idiots if they don't agree and vote with me!!!!!!!!
  14. it seems like the big issue is Young's lack of bigness, but in every other facet it seems that Young is the better prospect and so the decision is whether or not Youngs many other boxes that he checks outweighs his lack of weight. it's looking like they are starting to come to the conclusion that he's big enough for the job. i've said for weeks, people in both camps need to get used to the idea that the guy they would rather not have will be the guy that we draft. find peace now. it's for your own good.
  15. if there is a difference in opinion as to who should be taken, then one side has to convince the other and both have to be open to being convinced otherwise.
  16. i think he's got a lot of say in the decision and that's probably part of it. i mostly believe it when Fitt said that he hasn't talked to Reich about who his choice is and that they are trying to keep that to themselves until closer to the draft, but i don't well either of them would do in their conversations at keeping their thoughts close to their chests. they have to know which way the other is leaning without saying. Fitt and the FO could be certain, but just to make sure they have the right guy could be waiting for Reich and his staff to confirm it or validate it further or poke significant holes. i do think that also that they have a certain amount of wiggle room in the decision having 2 fantastic choices to pick from in Young and Stroud that even if they changed their minds about "their guy" that they would still feel good about that move to #1 overall.
  17. i think all along they have an idea of who they want and are using the time available to decide if there is a better option or convince themselves that their choice is the right one.
  18. No. it's a needed distraction/break from the other stuff in life that i probably take too seriously. frees the brain a little bit and helps curb stress. none of this should ever cause stress. it's just not important enough and shouldn't be that important unless your livelihood depended on it.
  19. When you're picking that early, that needs to be the expectation. You start day one and earn your lumps.
  20. Here's the thing that is funniest about this whole fuggin Young vs Stroud debate... Why out do much energy into debating which is best? So when your guy isn't drafted you can go into mourning together? Stage a revolt on Mint St.? I mean why try to win everyone to one side or another? Is it a democracy? Are we voting on this? Fug it... they're going to pick who they pick and there's not a damn thing any of you can do to influence it. Just be happy that we've got a killer staff who knows more about offense than any collection of coaches we've ever had by people who know QBs better than anyone in here. Be happy that we've got the choice of them all and this crew is going to actually be picking them and not any dumb fugs in here (which is actually better than the previous coaching staff, but that's another story). Quit working yourself up so much and just sit back and enjoy the ride, dammit.
