Another one falls into the trap that is Sam Darnold

that whole season was just an emotional ride. start off with that draft that had us trading back into the first to get Otah after drafting Stewart. bringing back Moose was a big deal and for me bringing in DJ Hackett and Tyler Brayton was a big deal too. then training camp (i lived down there at the time and was there a couple days a week) had that incident with Smith and Lucas. the whole season was just a wild ride that came crashing down at the end when fox & co drove that train off a cliff. yeah i know Jake threw all the INTS, but the whole game was mismanaged before it ever started. i couldn't imagine a better start to the season than that game. chargers just seemed like this team that couldn't be beat.

I said it's not the big issue everyone is making it out to be. it's not the obstacle to success that people are sure it will be. All indications are that he has learned to adapt. It's not an issue for him that he hasn't overcome. No reason to believe that he won't be able to carry that over into the pros. Until it shows to be an actual issue that is causing problems, it's not one. Just like this whole fragile narrative that has been thrown out there. Until he shows that he can't take the hits, which he has been hit plenty and done just fine afterwards, then he can take whatever hits he takes...just like every other QB. Of all the concerns about his size that have been thrown out there, he has shown throughout his career that it isn't as big of a concern as people make them out to be.

were there more vids?

thinking that he hasn't and won't be able to adapt and get the job done anyways is narrowmindedness.
-
no more than you seem to think it will be an issue. like i said in the above post, there are a good few people who know the job and have done the job that are saying that it's just simply not the factor people are saying it's going to be. you don't have to be able to see over the OL...in fact most QBs done. they just can't. they look through it. they pick their lanes, find their windows, and they make the throws. they've seen that Bryce can do it. they see that he makes throws all over the field, including and especially in the middle of the field without having many balls batted down at all compared to many much taller QBs. height just isn't and won't be the factor and it's on you to prove that it is. until it's a demonstrable problem with Young, it isn't one.
-
it's a bit too early to be saying otherwise, especially when you have people who know and have done the job and have watched Young say that it isn't going to be the issue that you and others are making it out to be.

i figured the number was wrong.

definitely one of the most memorable panther games ever

"our 53 is better than their 53"

he warned them.

it will become obvious that Young is the best QB in the NFCS by mid season. i'm not sleeping on ATL. i think they'll be third in the division. still will have a weak QB, weak defense, and weak coaching. bucs will be in the running for top QB pick next year. i think we split with the saints, but we end up sweeping everyone else in the division. we'll finish 12-5 and win the division. 5-1 against NFCS 3-1 vs NFCN 3-1 vs AFCS and we'll lose two from the trio of cowboys, seahawks, and dolphins.

His 'shortcomings' aren't the big issue people are making them out to be.

Preseason Tier Ranking of QBs in AFC / NFC
rayzor replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
one of the faces from tier 6 in the NFC will bump up to fill that void in tier 1 by the end of the season. the other one on tier 6 plays for the bears. there's a few between tier 4 and 5 in the NFC that i would switch around. AFC peeps have their work cut out for them. don't have any issues with those rankings. -
keep the discussion to the interview itself, please. there's another forum for that other poo.

Panthers have one of NFL's most 'obsessive' fanbases
rayzor replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
i would be a whole lot more interested in going to panther games if the tickets were even half what they are. drop it below $100 and i'm taking the family. as it is, that's just one of those luxuries that i cannot really afford and really don't want to add to my life, especially considering the gas and time to drive down and the cost of concessions. i chose a simpler, less stressful life and that is one of the perks that i feel fine giving up for that simpler life. but i think there would be a lot more local folks and fans who would go if the tickets were more affordable. -
yeah, zach had the talent. i think the concern for him pre-draft was what is going on between the ears...and more had to do with his character and personality. people thought that he might be a bit too entitled and not really fit or cut out to be a leader. he thought he was better than everyone else and didn't do much to try and hide that feeling. turns out there was probably something to all that. but the concerns surrounding wilson are just not there at all with Young. I mean that's been considered as one of his strongest traits. when Cam was talking about Young, that was the thing that he focused on the most. I don't think anyone had or has any concerns about Young being the leader of a team.
-
i know someone on here was saying that people were saying the same things about zach Wilson tha tthey have been about Bryce Young, but NOBODY was talking about zach being as brllliant a football mind as they have been Young. People see Young's command of the game and ability to manipulate coverages and they've been talking a lot about that. i haven't heard anyone talked about the way that Young has.
