Oh I agree, but there are still a couple who look at Reich as being basically just an average at best coach and Young is nothing but a small QB, no better than anyone else in any capacity. And the way they talk, it's just going to be a continuation of the mediocre at best history we've had and they absolutely don't see us with a winning record any time soon, much less a solid playoff run. Just go to one of those recent playoff run threads to see. They aren't being quiet about it.
-
I think they think the Reich/Young combo is the wrong direction. You know there are a couple in here who believe that.
-
It's a non-issue. It will be signed. There won't be a lot of wiggle room in its structure or in the $$. There won't be any holding out. It's just not the concern it was prior to the CBA.

I wasn't interested in anything he had to say while he was here the last year and a half. I'm even less interested now.
-
I'm all in. And I bet that one fan who thought we are going the wrong direction posts in here.

What silly little debate going on. Whatever. Anyways, fortunately I didn't automatically know who this thread was about. My first instinct was actually DWill. Opened it up and saw it was about Rhule and my next thought was, "huh...oh yeah...he was a thing here for a while. And yeah, he's a moron." Rhule had very quickly, in my mind anyways, become ancient history. I've really moved on. I could care less what that bozo has to say about us or anyone or anything and I don't think anyone outside of hardcore husker fans takes anything he says seriously and even that's going to only last a season or two. It's a new day and a new era, my friends. Live in the now and let that frumpy clown be a distant memory. It's really not that hard.

Will the Panthers or won't they contend for a playoff spot
rayzor replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly the same thing I've been seeing. We had the absolute best situation for any rookie QB to land just based on coaching and we've made sure he has the appropriate weapons needed to make his job easy and we've already got the most important factor needed for a rookie QB...a stout OL with chemistry. And we also have a QB that mentally is far beyond where even the best rookie QBs typically are as far as comprehension of the game and playbook and he's already taken ownership of the team. And you take all of that and plop him into a weak division where the slightly above average Derek Carr is the defacto best vet QB but pair that with blah coaching and an overall pretty meh team and they might be good for a couple more wins but I trust our D to shut him down and I trust our coaching staff to out coach every other coaching staff in the division. And there's not a defense in this division that makes me fear for Young's life. We'll own this division starting year 1 with Reich and Young. -

Or best playmaker will be the guy who makes things happen, the QB. And what he's going to do is elevate the ability of everyone around him. Good QBs make everyone around them better. Young is a good QB and I feel completely confident and comfortable saying that even now. -
Can Bryce Young lead Panthers to a deep playoff run?
rayzor replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
So we talking deep playoff run his rookie year or ever? His rookie year? I'd be surprised. I do expect playoffs this year, but that has more to do with a weak division. Conference isn't particularly strong either. I also fully expect us to win a few more games this year than last because of better coaching, better QB play, and a soft schedule. I think that's very reasonable, reachable, and, tbh, should be the expectation for any new HC/QB combo. It just so happens that a few more wins (3-4) will put us at a 10+ win season because (and I know this will be hard to comprehend) we weren't that bad of a team to start off with. We just needed better coaching and better QB play . Deep playoff run is what I expect year two. Year three, we're fighting for conference champions. And yes Bryce is going to be the guy that leads this team to all of it. And those of you who are doubting right now will either get on board and enjoy the ride by mid season or just disappear and only show up on those rare occasions that Bryce doesn't have a spectacular game. It will be the same poo as it was when Cam got here with these same lame ass fans who are more interested in being right about Bryce being a bad pick than enjoying the ride to the playoffs and success. Bring hopeful and feeling good about what we're doing here and about Bryce and Reich is a choice. So is being pessimistic about it all. And for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would choose not to take advantage of an opportunity to feel great about what is going on here, but I get it. Feeling pessimistic is safe. Optimism is for the bold. It's just not for everyone. But don't worry...you just go ahead and stay in bed with the covers pulled over your head and your door locked tight and we'll come knocking when it's safe for you to come out and enjoy the sunshine of the Young/Reich era. Just grab your folding rocking camping chair from Walmart and come out and enjoy the BBQ and beer and the fun. Whenever you allow yourself to feel good about the team, they'll be space for you out here with us. -
Now if we're talking beef steak, I just use coarse sea salt and fresh ground black pepper. I don't mess around too much with that. And there are times when I'm doing chicken on the grill that I just use old bay. With pork loin chops (probably what we grill the most) my wife has some ginger soy sauce garlic marinade she puts them in overnight.

For me it was like when we drafted Clausen. Wasn't a fan of the idea, but when it happened I forced myself to be positive about it. My worst fears were realized with those two. This with Young is a lot like I felt with Cam. I love it and I feel legit great about it.

I think most of us know this. Even the few remaining Bryce detractors get it. If anyone was laughing at you it wasn't because of the Bryce thing.

And you were the only person talking him up.

It's very much on par with George's. Can't go wrong with either. I usually keep both on hand. sometimes the original of the George's and the spicy Scott's. Carolina treat's got it's own thing going on. George's abd Scott's is most likely the bbq sauce I grew up on going to pig pickins.

Been in a lot of places in Texas. Houston was the only one I could do without. Dallas was fine. San Antonio wasn't bad at all. Austin is one of my favorite places anywhere. In my top 3 places I hope to retire in.

And all those in that list....not stuff i get excited about when I see it on the shelf.

My go to sauces My kids like Sweet Baby Ray's original. It's ok (kind of boring), but for pork or chicken over a pit it's got to be vinegar based with a serious kick. I do enjoy smoked pork done well without sauce, but I really love that spicy vinegar tang. Not a fan of sweet sauces at all.

it will start to change this year. a lot of excitement in the team (except for that grumpy constipated minority that is still whining over Bryce). this team is going to start winning games soon and will be getting a lot of love from the media because of Bryce and Reich. just be ready, because that means an influx of bandwagon fans (which is ok because most of us were bandwagon fans at one point).
-
i don't think you're going to be far off from what really happens. seems pretty reasonable.
-
i won't argue the total yardage...though i think it might be a bit high going to the WRs. remember, there will also be a good bit thrown to the RBs and TEs. Rookie QB + Reich offense is going to be TE heavy and rookie QBs rely heavily on the safe outlet of a good pass catching RB. wouldn't surprise me to see no WR going above 750 yards this year, but several above 500 and the ball spread out pretty evenly. highest yardage from the WRs will be the guy that can get open the most consistently.

Viking article predicting big drop off for Thielen
rayzor replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
a vikings fan is saying that a former lifetime viking that they wanted to return and left for a conference rival is going to see a drop in production? -

This 100%. We'll do quite a bit better than last year and last year almost had us winning the division. I think 1) people are thrown by the notion that a team who picked 1st overall could become a legit contender in the playoffs and 2) that this is the same crappy panthers team we've seen the past half decade. Newsflash ....we aren't your usual team who picked 1st overall because they "earned" it. We didn't earn it. We paid for it. We were a decent team held back by inferior coaching (remember the turnaround we had moving from Rhule to Wilks...now imagine taking another few steps forward using a much better coaching staff with a full off-season) and also held back by crap QB play. Young is an instant and drastic upgrade from what we've had the last half decade. (Sorry if any of you can't see that yet, but you will). This team will win at least 3 more games this year than last just because of the upgrade in coaching and QB. Of this I am completely confident. -
