  1. its almost like they don't expect newton to finish the season healthy.
  2. Sammy, PJ, and Tommy make a good corps. All are good scramblers. Tommy is a good swiss army knife guy that gives you a few options and opens the door for some creativity. You could legitimately put him on the same field as Sammy or PJ when/if he fills in and all he would do is make the defense confused. Grier, on the other hand, is a nice guy. He's well liked, but really offers not much more than that. He's going to be heading somewhere else.
  3. i guess considering our choices, positional versatility in the personnel is essential....and apparently that leaves little with not much chance of being on the roster. yeah....i'm shocked.
  4. smells like a vote of little to no confidence.
  5. we were super thin and the team and coaching staff was as raw as possible and we were still just a smidge from winning quite a few more games than we did. we got more talent and the coaching staff has a year under it's belt. we just need a bit more production from QB (which shouldn't be hard to pull off) and we could very well double our wins from last year.
  6. tyler brayton. i loved the idea of bringing him in and having him on the other side of the DL from peppers. there was some great talent on that team. just too bad we had such sucky coaches.
  7. i've got to admit being a fan of Geoff 'the hangman' Hangartner. he was always fun to watch in training camp because he was always good for a fight. but during the season he could be plugged in anywhere on the OL and know he wasn't going to suck. also James Anderson. Dude was great depth. i didn't like the idea of him as a starter, but he was he kind of guy you wanted to fill out your roster.
  8. yeah that is kind of the brilliance of it. because of the limited success for late round picks there's very little risk involved, but the guys they've added from this class could, even with nominal talent, play significant roles for the next couple years...mainly because we were so depleted of talented depth. it's easy to have several home runs our of this draft because we had holes and they selected good players who, on a more stacked team, wouldn't have much of a chance. these guys will have an honest shot to make it and more than a couple will.
  9. i think moore will work his way into the rotation and will start a few games this year. he'll grow into a very reliable part of the OL. ceiling...ryan kalil 2.0 floor...geoff hangartner 2.0
  10. premature, but probably on track. i do think that the TE3 isn't one that is on the roster yet. we've got tremble and arnold and we'll likely find one that hits FA once other teams start making cuts.
  11. total agreement. every single one of those guys, like you have pointed out, you can make a great case for. We have needs, they have the tools to meet those needs. we got some serious value throughout the draft. Not all of them will work out, but if we can get even half to be solid contributors for us. I would add Spencer Brown to the list as well. He could end up being the next Nick Goings.
  12. yeah, I have 2 reasons for me being so bullish on this class. 1) we got some good and talented guys. 2) we were thin on good and talented guys. we hit it big and we needed to.
  13. I said right after the draft that we will have 7-8 either starting or playing a major role in what we do and I'm sticking by that.
  14. It was a hard pill to swallow, but cam is done. He could have been among the greatest ever and could have had at least one ring while he was here, but he was mismanaged and the refs didn't like him for whatever reason and let headhunters go after him without consequence. Worse, the FO didn't have his back and did a piss poor job of finding a way to protect him. Carolina just didn't do enough. His talent was wasted...but the parties who did the damage here are gone. It happened. It sucks. But it's time to move on.
  15. @bLACKpANTHER videos and @SCP threads are automatically pinnable. Some of the best stuff in here. I hope this season gives them enough inspiration to keep creating.
  16. Fantastic. We've got some studs. Can't wait for the season to start.
  17. That was exciting to watch. Putting himself in some great company. We've got a stud. He will be, very quickly, the best CB we've ever had and will likely also be the best CB in the division by seasons end.
  18. i assume you've got the numbers and signs to back that up.
  19. Carolina should be over him. He's an elite douchebag. Really no question about it.
  20. i really like the hill signing just because we really need help at FS. that Donnerson signing is interesting. from what i cold find on him going back to predraft stuff is that he is super athletic but also super raw and just needs coached up. dude could be a beast edge guy. in the couple years he's been in the league he's never seen time on the field. why is that? has he not been given a fair and real chance or is he just not good? i just feel good about the situation he's landed in because he's got the best coaches possible for a guy in his situation. if he can make it, he's in the right place to prove it.
  21. It could be that maybe they don't want to be embarrassed and dragged through the mud like many victims are in rape and sexual harassment cases, but they still want him to be held accountable. The fact is we have a long history of making victims of rape and sexual harassment look bad and treating them like poo, especially during a trial. Can't blame them for wanting to take this easier way out.
