  1. Wishful thinking probably. I'm seriously hoping that we don't have an opportunity to trade down and we grab one of those elite LT prospects rather than reaching for a serviceable QB.
  2. Probably the least damaging plan if we're determined to get a QB. Still would rather us go LT, but I'm resigned to the idea that we're getting a QB. Got a feeling that they'll go the "safe" route and get Pickett, but he's got the lowest ceiling of any of them. He'll be ok and probably take the least development initially as a rookie, but he won't ever get much better.
  3. i'm used to seeing it as well. why would you need to, though? why would you want to? there's very little need for anything like that unless you are putting yourself into those situations in which case you just need to stop being in those situations. and if you do feel for some reason that you might need one....at least do it the right way and get it registered and get your ccl. weed shouldn't have been an issue (the fact that it is is dumb on it's own), but it is an issue and because it is an issue....don't be dumb with it. don't get caught with it. if you've got it, don't do anything dumb to draw attention to yourself just in case. he's learning....i hope. tough lessons to learn, but it could have been worse.
  4. I mean if you're in a land that just got invaded by Putin, you might have an argument. Here in the US.... there's not really a need for it. Every other country in the northern hemisphere seems to be doing ok without them.
  5. That's the bigger head scratcher for me. I've done a lot of dumb things, but managed to keep away from situations where I thought... "Dude, I sure wish I had a gun now." If you find yourself heading into those situations, might be a good time to change direction.
  6. Banking on the strong QB is not new here. We usually ended up correcting course, though. It just took getting a new HC to do it.
  7. Not really. 1) he may be hearing one thing but thinking something else 2) he might be insinuating that they'll be trading back unless one of their top 2 LTs make it to 6 (which is doubtful to happen).
  8. I'll just say I don't remember much about being 23. Not even sure where I was living then.
  9. I don't expect Burns to ever be all that great against the run. He's a pass rusher and should be kept in that role while we upgrade the D around him to be better at stopping the run.
  10. Can't imagine that ever goes over well. They don't exactly like being told no and will make you pay if you tell them in that, even if it's your right to do that.
  11. Our defense looked good until we faced heavy run teams. We got abused. We got found out and then trans started capitalizing on them at weakness. We were built to fight the pass at the expense, apparently, of the run game. Looks like we're trying to fix that, but I'm afraid we'll be still be out coached and the offense will still make the defense work to hard. This defense needs an offense more than Rhule realized. It needs NFL experienced coaching more than Tepper realized.
  12. He knew better, I'm sure, than to be caught with that stuff. But it shouldn't be the deal it could turn into and his car probably shouldn't have been searched. Not for speeding. Speeding was likely just an excuse to search his car.
  13. The only chance we really have to get in the playoffs is for the rest of the NFCS to suck worse than we do. That's a possibility with the falcons and saints. Tampa.... Only if Brady's age catches up with him. We'll be set up better than last year, but the biggest thing is coaching. We're set up better than last year, but the guy at the top is the weak link. He just happens to be the most important link. Depending on who we get at QB, we'll stumble into a better record. Playoffs might happen, but it would be a fluke.
  14. Not just with personnel. The guy needs coddling.
  15. If it involves a trade, the price is too high for baker.
  16. Not if it costs us in a trade. I'm serious, I don't want us to trade for anyone. I want us to get a LT more than anything, but Baker isn't better than Corral, Pickett, or Willis. I don't want us to draft a QB, but I'd rather have any of those three than baker. I just don't want anything to do with him. I'd rather be stuck with Darnold because at least we've already paid for him. His damage doesn't go beyond this year. Trading for baker would just put us in another hole of suck.
  17. I don't have a huge problem with high maintenance if they produce. The higher the maintenance, the more they need to be able to produce for it to be worth the effort. Rodgers and Brady are worth it, imo. Baker just isn't.
  18. I am curious about what he did (if anything) to get caught with this on him.
  19. Baker just seems too high maintenance. If he was really good and productive, then I could probably deal with it. He's just not worth the effort or cost of a trade. I REALLY don't want us to get him. I don't want us to trade for him or use him as a reason to not chase after another QB in the next couple years.
  20. Locking this thread. Should have done it earlier. I think most can see through the OP's meaning. It's an old antiquated view that just needs to go away....just like the guy who started this thread. He's gone, just like his other alts.
  21. First thing I thought of. Literally said, as soon as I saw this thread, "not this poo again."
  22. Yeah, this one hurts a bit. Still young and such a good guy. So much fun to watch. Hate it for his family and that band. Seemed like a rock for Grohl.
