What would be the harm in giving him a tryout along with any other FA possibility? Shouldn't we keep swinging? -

Just get rid of them both. -
ok, most/many of them came around. others bailed.

this. both sides know we need better and i don't think that anyone will mind at all as long as the guy is better. many people didn't want Cam in here and were diehard against him, but once he started breaking records and looked like a star, they changed their minds either about what pigeonhole they had locked him into or about how successful he could be. QBs have to be mobile. QBs have to be smart. QBs have to be able to sit back in the pocket and able to bail and keep the ball alive when that pocket collapses. QBs have to know when and be able to take advantage of space as a passer and a runner and be able to, in one way or another, move the ball down field. they have to be capable of doing it all as a passer and as a runner (as needed) and they need to be able to adapt what they are doing based on what defenses are giving them. they've also got to have the moxie to take over a team, put it on his shoulders, and will it to win.

i've been trying to keep out of this discussion because i've always had a poor impression of polian. the guy lucked out on manning (being put in a situation where he could draft him) but he was never really able to build well around him. which is kind of funny for him to talk about a QB is only as good as the team around him because he just didn't pull it off very well. i'll keep my other thoughts about him out of it, but i'll just reiterate that i think Polian and his legacy is overrated.

we put our money on the wrong horse(s). could you imagine where we would have been had we fired Hurney and Rivera and replaced them with Beane and McDermott?

My first thought.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler's 7-round mock draft

It would be frustrating watching anything beyond that first round pick. Just like watching Panthers play beyond the first quarter. -

people who are trapped into owning PSLs are going to have even more trouble selling them because what's the point? the owner is going to be tearing the whole thing down and starting over (just like he's done everything else here) so the investment you have is wasted in memories of the past. and who in their right mind is going to fall for this poo again, especially with a coach like rhule and the state this team is in? tepper's going to have to find another scheme than PSLs to pay for that stadium.

Todd McShay - Rhlue "won't be crying when the two sides part ways"
rayzor replied to trueblade's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, where you gave no reason why beyond money. You've got nothing. if you've got some legit reason why players would want to come here based on what this team has to offer now.....please share. -

Because no other team has money. But still ... Is money the only thing we have to offer? Pretty pathetic if that's the case. Come up with something better, superfan. C'mon. As much as you hurrah the team and ridicule everyone who doesn't, surely you could come up with a solid list. -

why would anyone not desperate for a roster spot on any team and without options elsewhere want to come here? what's the draw? please, someone educate me. seriously, what makes this team special compared to any other team? if you had a son that could play in the NFL and you weren't a panthers fan, why would you want your kid to come here compared to any other place? all you fans upset over him saying this, please fill me in. i'll wait for an answer.
