Most teams lose because they don't know why they lost.
rayzor replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Exactly. I don't expect him to become a winning coach, not here. No deep playoff run. Definitely no championship. I see no reason to believe he's capable of this. He has only ever given reason to doubt he knows what he's doing. I seriously doubt many here are "rooting" for the team to lose. I know I'm not. I expect us to lose because Rhule has to totally be fugged up this team and only knows how to dig the hole deeper. I hope I'm wrong and will gladly admit I was. I just have no reason to believe I am. The bar is set quite high for this season for what I deem success A deep playoff run or nothing else because that's where we should be if we had a competent coach at this point in his tenure. Just bring better than last year is not acceptable. That's what last year was supposed to be about, and we weren't. And don't give me stats or metrics "proving" he was better. The only real metric that matters is winning, and he didn't. It doesn't matter how good your offense or defense is if you don't have wins. -

Anybody looking at much of any of that speech/rambling and coming away with "this guy knows his poo" doesn't know poo. I mean he's known about this clinic for a long time, and that's what he prepared? I'd ask for my money back. It's just like a presser where he just throws stuff out there without ever actually answering or saying anything of value. -

None of them. And by that I don't mean I like Darnold or Walker. I just don't want Rhule picking anyone. Forced to pick one of them, I'd go Corral followed closely by Willis. Pickett a good way past that, then after that.... nobody. I'd rather us focus on LT and don't big up much resources this year on QB. Rhule and Fitt we're dumb enough to pay for Darnold this year, they should be forced to roll with him.

For this season or long term?

Rhule: Sam Darnold will take a huge step this year
rayzor replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe Rhule should go back to ignoring the press. -

This. Guy intentionally came across as a very visible, present, and available owner... one of the guys who you'd see popping up everywhere fans were and interacting with them. He was always available to and speaking with the media, trying to engage the fans. Since last year he's done none of that. Why? Got to assume he's either embarrassed about the product he's putting out there or he just doesn't care about the fans anymore.

Matt Rhule dresses like a goddamn slob

Keep sucking it in, Matt. No one will know. -
I think the thing that would make this worse than the hole in 2008 is Fox wasn't a HC with his job on the line. Rhule is. This blows up in his face and gets fired, the next HC is crippled coming in
-
Sorry. Sounds too much like 2008. Got us in a hole we kept digging deeper. Don't want any part of that.

What position?

I don't want us to substitute one lame ass QB with another. He's not an answer and if he's not an answer I'm not interested. My fear is that they would treat him like he was the answer and I just don't want any part of that. They dug their hole with Darnold, for all I care they can rot in it until we wise up and get a HC who won't fug up. There's not a vet answer available and there isn't going to be one this year. Either we draft one or (more preferable) roll with who we've got and fix the damn OL.

Won't happen. He doesn't like Cam, I don't think. Too big of a voice. Not a sheep like Rhule prefers.
-
Let oka like he's ready for a decent training camp, preseason games on the sidelines, and about 4 weeks of HoF caliber play followed by 10 weeks of "is he or isn't he coming back" and then finishing up with 3 weeks of IR.

Person asks about GM / Head Coach "alignment"
rayzor replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
A car that has perfect alignment driven by an aggressive driver can still be driven off a cliff. -
Compared to the other two, he won't see that much long term development. His first three years he wasn't that good then things clicked. When they clicked he got things figured out. I just don't see there's much to build on that he hadn't worked out. High floor. Low ceiling. He just is who he is. Not really much potential for growth to get excited about.
