  1. This is basically the whole reason I'm not all that optimistic. With the exception of QB, some big improvements were made in necessary places (not at all sold on Baker). But as long as that guy has control my optimism has the mute button pressed. Still more inclined to watch this year than i thought I would be.
  2. I'm tired of my annual positivity and optimism being crushed by a team that can't get their poo together and keeps coming up with new ways to lose led by the same asshat brain trust it's been led by for the past couple years. Until 1) we start winning without stalling out after a few games and wings up in the playoffs or 2) we have a change in leadership.....i'm not buying it. I've played that game too many times and I'm done. Is this a better team or just more of the same poo? Until I see results I'm not going to fall for it. It's a deep playoff run or a coaching change that will get me feeling good again. Right now I'm more curious how the non-rhile changes affect the team, impact of experienced coaches and an upgraded OL. Until I see otherwise, Baker is just this year's model of teddy and sammy.
  3. My default just because I've what I've seen here for years now is to kurb any enthusiasm I'm used to them sucking and me getting disappointed in them. Then they, for the third year in a row, the third year of rhule, get some reclamation project with "upside and potential" for a QB. I just don't believe in anything this team does. I hope they do well, but I'm done believing in them. I want to see them do something different.
  4. it's a stretch to put him on the level of greatness with any of those guys. sometimes a baby is just a baby.
  5. his performance was top tier...so it made him worth it. can the same be said for mayfield?
  6. it just seems like he has issues with lots of people. coaches and players. it just happens too often, going back to his time with texas tech. he was whining about what was(n't) going on with Kingsberry there and he just left for OK. when you have problems with that many people...it might not be the other person's fault.
  7. unsettling. yeah, if he can make the right decisions or at least win on most gambles, I'm ok, but i'm afraid we'll be seeing a lot of this stuff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_iOasuEVv0 also there's this.... https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/most-thrown-interceptions-since-2018 Since 2018, Baker Mayfield has thrown the most interceptions, with 56 interceptions. also he's fourth in INT percentage behind darnold (3), fitzpatrick (2), and jameis (1) his OL hasn't been bad like it was with darnold (in fact it's one of the best) and he's had good targets. i don't want to call him a gunslinger exactly, but he does throw a lot of poo at the wall. i hope he does ok, but we've been through all this before. he doesn't seem to be as skittish as sammy, but he's got his own issues. seems to be a lot of drama that follows him around, too. it's just hard for me to get excited about him and him just being a better quality of turd than we're used to around here just isn't enough to get me on his bandwagon. i hope he's good and that we win, but i think he's just filler for this year and not much more.
  8. have noticed that, too. not sure what to think about it. i know i'd hate to be a cameraman and have to follow that.
  9. that whole dynamic has to be jacked. everyone wants to be a leader. it's going to be interesting to see who shows up at all for it. i mean why would anyone show up just because baker invited them? it's not like baker is some legend stepping into a leadership role and everyone responds just because it's him. guy has to earn that kind of respect.
  10. i'm sure both Darnold and Mayfield knew about MacAdoo's comments. I'm just curious their thoughts on each other having to work together now. i mean he had a couple good things to talk about each of the two guys...but thought they were limited in what they would be able to do and he's not been wrong on them. who knows....maybe he can coach them up. i'm just not all that optimistic about either one of them. i think MacAdoo would rather be focusing on Corral. I know I would.
  11. you waited till now to provide any context. so good job guy you really did something
  12. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/ben-mcadoo-was-not-a-baker-believer-in-2018
  13. darnold can't be counted on (bc he sucks) and rhule doesn't trust the rookie (because rhule sucks). conditional 5th is probably the highest i would think is acceptable for any trade, though i would have preferred no trades, but this isn't a bad one considering the foolishness we had in trading for darnold. i don't like mayfield. haven't been a fan. don't like he's a panther now but for a short term one year guy we could do worse i guess...obviously we have done much worse. if you're counting on him getting us to the playoffs this year...i wouldn't. if you're counting on him being the long term QB...i wouldn't. if you're counting on him saving rhule's job....he can probably do that if the bar is set low, like 7 wins (and even that is a stretch). this is not a situation where the sky is the limit. this is more like i see the season going.
  14. rhule takes his hands off the wheel and lets his knowledgeable and experienced assistants (i'm not including snow in that group) make the decisions regarding personnel, game planning, and game management.
  15. i think we'll end up splitting with them somehow.
  16. baker will be the QB day one against the browns. we'll win that one and the next week against the giants, but we won't win much more after that. i seriously doubt we cut darnold. darnold is where baker was until someone was desperate enough to trade for him. the only team that is desperate enough to trade for darnold is trying to get rid of him. and we'll find a way to keep PJ on the team...maybe practice squad? if we try to put Corrall on the practice squad and PJ on the regular roster....
  17. same here. i hope that this works out. i don't see it working out, though. i didn't want mayfield. i don't see him as being anything more than a tool to win maybe one or two more games but he's no long term solution. the best chance we have for a long term solution right now is Corrall and he'll be sitting this year. i'm not impressed by darnold or mayfield at all. i just can't feel good about them and i'm not going to feel good about them just because i'm a fan of the team. them being a panther doesn't mean i put blinders on when i look at them. it just means i'm a fan of a team that really fugs up when it comes to the QB.
