  1. Calm down fella. Like I said, I'm talking about IN GENERAL. For everyone. He wasn't the only guy that got gurt, you know. And he wasn't the only on at risk of unnecessary injuries caused by players from another team in a game that doesn't count. And yes, I know it wasn't cause by another player, but they were all at risk of it and I just don't like it just like I don't like the probowl.
  2. Accidents happen, but there are some situations you can quit creating that make room for more. Preseason games aren't necessary. They don't count. Starters and key players shouldn't be put at risk of injury by players from another team; n games that don't count. Getting rid of preseason games eliminates more chances for injury to key players caused by players from another team
  3. At least you would have them for the first 1-3 games of the season, unlike getting hurt in preseason where you lose them before you get any real time out of them in games that count. If they get hurt in preseason they are useless in real season games.
  4. In general. I hate them. Too risky in games that don't count.
  5. I hate preseason games. Such an unnecessary risk to the health of players.
  6. please keep all your dog posts in here. thanks.
  7. plenty of punks have become good QBs with solid careers. not out of the realm of possibility that we've got one here.
  8. pains me to say it...but it was the right call handling it the way they did. just having the gig handed to him on a silver platter wouldn't have played over as well as letting him "compete" for the job and assert himself as the bona fide leader of the offense. i mean probably everyone "knew" that this would be the outcome and sure, it was just a show, but i think it was probably better for the team to see him work for it at the risk of missing reps. confidence gained in baker outweighs the reps he missed out to sammy in the show. he will get the needed reps soon enough, but he'll get more out of the other guys in those reps because of the confidence they have in him. all that said...i'm still not sold on baker overall but it doesn't matter if i am as long as the guys around him is and once they get into actual game situations they'll find out soon enough if that confidence is misplaced or not.
  9. nice try, but until rhule starts winning games, expect the hate and the deserved lack of confidence to keep flowing. since he is essentially at the core of this team and responsible for managing it, most issues facing the team will somehow be directly connected to him. his disapproval is going to keep showing up in most threads because all threads in the fabric of this team connect to him. you want the hate to stop? team will have to start winning first. rhule will have to prove he can coach a winning team. you don't have to like it, but no one likes losing and so far that's about all we've one with him.
  10. Jokes on you. I had already wet myself. Thanks, Depends!
  11. the problem is that he can't win more than 5 games so far. this year will probably be more...but how much more? 2 more games? and then the year after that he'll finally get us a winning season? and then how many more before we get into the playoffs? the dude just hasn't done enough to prove he's a good winning coach.
  12. i don't really have a problem with that, though i hate to see Saunders go and i'd like to see us upgrade LT and LG depth there. Would rather move on from Michael Jordan and Bozeman should be the starter when he gets back. Aside from Moton and BC, i really don't want any leftovers from last year on the roster.
  13. i'm not upset. i don't really care. it's just preseason and i'd rather not have it at all. said before if we're going to have them, i really don't want starters or key players playing in games that don't count. preseason isn't a good judge of how any team is going to perform against anyone because it's just an evaluation tool of players and groups in relation to each other...not really how they will perform against an opponent. goals isn't the same for either team. winning (even winning downs) isn't a priority.
  14. just preseason, but the amount of investment rhule has put in corral is pretty bad. he's been an afterthought. what does anyone expect? i mean rhule understandably has been preoccupied with that QB1 "competition", but this sure doesn't help the surprising reputation rhule has built for not doing a great job developing or getting invested in young players (unless they were baylor/temple guys).
  15. yes. unless it's a true developmental guy like Corral, you don't want to use that 3rd. Have realistic expectations for that potential 3rd spot and who you have available. If you can keep them on the PS, do it.
  16. probably best to do. i mean keep PJ i guess on the practice squad and if he gets picked up by someone . i mean we'll need someone for the practice squad, but just being real, if it's not Corral and we're down to the 3rd QB...we're kind of screwed anyways.
  17. but you shouldn't be "playing to win the game" when the game doesn't count. to protect yourself from someone who is doing it i guess you kind of have to which really just makes for an unnecessarily dangerous situation.
