  1. positive yardage and points on the board while we are still in it. limited 3 and outs. extend a few drives and give the D a chance to rest. those guys could use all the help they can get. bar really isn't set that high. wouldn't have to be that high for him to bounce backwards off it, though. what we saw when he entered the game last week is what i expect to see this week. and by "what i expect to see" i don't mean i will actually be watching the game. i've got no desire to watch that team this year, especially with him at QB.
  2. that's under the impression that he will like anything but a 7th grader in a panic.
  3. if he plays, he only kills any potential trade value.
  4. whatever we do, we don't need to put him back in there. that would be the worst thing. let him play and then they watch and have second thoughts. let them just use their imagination.
  5. i could go with this. no complete demo needed. we've got a decent start with the draft. just keep going and get FAs on one year deals going forward. only thing i could see us doing is adding a youngish vet QB on a couple year deal to see how it works.
  6. this would be an epically bad move. keep the OL and maybe add some depth and maybe a center. but we don't want to take any steps backward here.
  7. i think the biggest reason the defense has regressed is that we 1) have so many players out that we were counting on. lots of injuries. and 2) we have a TON of new/young guys taking the majority of snaps and even starting. this is actually good for them. i wouldn't argue with getting a new defensive coaching staff, but with so many starters on the injured list i just think it's to be expected that we wouldn't be doing good. like it's not ideal, right now, to have Wallace wearing the green dot, but it's good for him and the rest of the young defense to get that relationship going.
  8. it's an adolescent temper tantrum reaction. trade or release a few players, sure...especially Young and Ian Thomas. if you did trade or release everyone, what would you get for it? a bunch of people no one else wants for good reason? you try to trade what someone is calling the worst roster in the league and what realistically do we think we'd be able to get for it? you tear it down to zero and then start over...who will you get? nothing. we've got a very young roster with some talent that needs invested in and some experience. we're at ground level. build up from here. team has already been torn down and a foundation is being laid. this year and next year will be working on that foundation. just build from where we are.
  9. overreaction. won't have the desired effect.
  10. anything we do or don't do will be embarrassing. sitting him for dalton is embarrassing. putting him back on the field and letting him throw for negative yardage is embarrassing. watching him stand on the sidelines holding his collar and wearing that ear piece is embarrassing. none of those options help us. only thing that does is trading him away. rip the bandaid off and move on.
  11. i vote for trade. if he's going to make it, it won't be with us.
  12. it's an overreaction that would make us even more screwed. horrible idea. we're already at ground level. just build from where we are.
  13. i think the universe wants us to go through this phase to make us appreciate the moment we finally quit shooting ourselves in the eye with a rubberband and figure out how to win.
  14. Won't do it because i know that as soon as i do try that they'll start winning. that's how my luck goes...and no, i'm not willing to risk it to jump start this team winning. they're going to have to do that without me losing money.
  15. and when was thomas reactivated? could it be that his getting back on the active roster coincided with the level of suck we have now? i think so.
  16. yeah, i can't see that happening. wishful thinking.
  17. a few times. been happening more frequently the past few years. i start off feeling pretty good then we fall on our face and can't get up for tripping on our elbows. yeah...that didn't make sense, but neither has the level of suck we've been seeing every year. we keep swinging that bat like a drunk donkey and do nothing but hit ourselves in the kneecaps.
  18. Said it somewhere else, he's a bigger problem in than Tepper. He is our black cat. He is a demon that must be exorcised. He is a tumor that must be excised.
