  1. Yeah I'm quoting myself, but in addition to all this there is the George Li element. Consider what Li did in quizzing HC candidates, throwing situations up in tape and seeing what each QB prospect saw and thinks with everyone watching. I mean every QB prospect, whether FA, trade, or draft pick will be heavily scrutinized by a group of QB experts and analysts the likes of which few teams have ever seen, and your acting like we have hurney and Rhule making the pick? Have some faith in this staff.
  2. Seriously, some of you think there's a real chance that these guys wiff?
  3. If Reich, Caldwell, and McCown sign off on the guy (whoever it is) and all think that he's the one to build the team around and say "whatever it takes, get him"....then we get him. I'm sorry, but I'm trusting this brain trust/staff completely over any of the clowns in here. Whatever call this staff makes on a QB is going to be the right one.
  4. Jourdan Rodrique said, knowing Evero and his tendencies that Evero may use Chinn in a hybrid role similar to Jalen Ramsey. they pretty much created a position for him and put him in a lot of different roles.
  5. i've seen several say that they didn't think players would care much about the coaches, but i think there a re a lot of really good players who, when they become FAs are going to look not just at the money, but at the situation and if they see this as a place that they can grow as a player and a place with the best and most respected coaches, they are going to be calling their agents and telling them "just make it work. get me to carolina".
  6. i only got to listen to about 15 minutes of it before work interfered, but what i saw was really good. like was tweeted earlier, reich will start off calling plays but will be handing it off to brown at some point. he said it will be hard to let go of it, but as he gets to know brown, it will be easier. said brown has been really impressive and keeps getting more impressive with every meeting. also said it will be a base 3-4, but will be very multiple. the interview with jourdan rodrique in this thread goes pretty deep into what kind of things to expect from both evero and brown. also talked about jim caldwell being a great mentor to him since reich's beginning as a coach with the colts. said they have stayed good friends ever since. lots of respect towards caldwell and seemed honored to have caldwell a part of what is happening here. said that his role would be much like a head coach and would be involved in pretty much all aspects and phases.
  7. definitely one to listen to regularly. i wasn't familiar with it but i am now. i can't get enough of the panthers this year. i have such a better feeling about them than i've had for a while.
  8. dream on, jonesy. not going to get that anywhere. you getting ready to get tagged.
  9. honestly this interview got me pretty excited about Evero and Brown and the other coaches coming from the Rams. the first several minutes were just a lot of fluff not really football stuff, but after that it got really good. Lets us know what to expect and what Evero and especially Brown will do differently. i fixed the video so it starts where the meat of the interview starts.
  10. that was such a good interview. really gave some insight into how these guys operate. we're in for some good stuff.
  11. so we still don't have a TE coach? I thought Nixon had the gig.
  12. Jimmy Clausen would have been a fun one to look at except we were the dummies that finally drafted him. Brady Quinn was a fun one too, but I legit felt bad for him because the had a camera on him the whole time.
  13. I think we're putting ourselves in good position for a ring.
  14. He's going to be limited on good assistants and coordinators because we're taking them all. Again.... All your coaches are belong to us That should be the theme meme of the year.
  15. it was written after noon so he was already pretty well sloshed by then. with irsay there's the things he says and the things he does and all of it the result of heavy drinking or a nose full of coke. i think his natural instinct that caused him to replace Reich with Saturday is the same that will cause him to push for Levis. It just depends on how much influence others have on him on draft day. the fact that someone other than Saturday was given the gig shows that irsay may have someone other than him calling shots. it kind of makes them more of a wildcard with irsay not having total control over these big decisions. hard to know what sober people will do on draft day in indy.
  16. i could see this as something that will be a really good draw for free agents looking to play for a future payday. Someone who has been an underperformer who feels they just haven't been getting good coaching might want to come here. For guys who were previously coached by one of our new coaches, though, i think if they were as good as we have been told then we'll see players telling their agents to find some way to Carolina. that's what i'm hoping anyways.
  17. i love it. comparing him to williamson is a pretty big deal. there's a reason he was around for so long. the guy was good.
  18. yeah, i think too much of a thing has been made of this idea that Evero is going to be bringing in a 3-4. WHen you look at interviews of his and interviews about him, one thing that i've picked up on is that he fits the scheme to the players he has. just because he's worked more with the 3-4 doesn't mean that's all he does or could do well. If he's as smart as he appears, he's going to be able to put something that fits who we have rather than force fit this team into a mold it doesn't quite fit in without a lot of adjusting. We've got a lot of talent here and he'll find a way to make it work and work well.
