  1. I would love it, but CB is such a bigger issue.
  2. hochuli's son, shawn, is just as bad.
  3. Agreed. This is what Cam talked about regarding Young. Cam basically said the moment Young steps in the rest are going to step in right behind him. He's got that kind of presence and personality that people just gravitate abd listen to. It's lowkey, but it's definitely there and effective. I know a few are saying that they hope he doesn't get the C until he's got a year or so under his belt, but if this is the guy that the players say they want as captain, who are we to say otherwise? It's going to be interesting to see how it shakes out.
  4. You draft a QB #1 overall, you start him day #1. If he's not ready, you probably picked the wrong guy. Best way to get his feet under him is to get his feet on the field. You trust you picked a guy who can do it and you trust your ability to get him and the team ready. The only thing they lack heading into their first season is experience and there's only one way to get it. Get him ready and get him in the game.
  5. Agreed. Can't use Cam as a precedent because he walked into a much more established situation. Much younger team overall and Young is a very different style of leadership than Cam. Both very good, but very different. Cam was the guy you looked at on the field for inspiration and made you feel you could do anything, but outside of ganes he was a kid having fun and that fun was infectious. Everything about him was infectious. He was the guy you wanted getting you hyped up on game day and the guy you wanted leading you out of the tunnel. Young is the guy that sets the tone in practice. You know he's the guy who comes in absolutely prepared and you look to him because he knows what is going on and you know he's going on to use that knowledge to help you get hwe you need to be and together you're going to make big things happen. Seriously it wouldn't surprise me to see him made captain, but if he isn't, its a matter of him paying his dues.
  6. i changed the title. took me a minute, though. it wouldn't surprise me if he is or isn't. i honestly have no idea. i mean cam wasn't voted one for a couple years, iirc.
  7. i'm hoping new coaching staff/new defense/new position = new dominant burns
  8. Also the number of meaningful games he's played in to date. Edit: dammit @Ricky Spanish
  9. Thank you for your blessing. It's what we need and what we crave. You can sleep well knowing you tried your darndest to help us unreasonable fans see the dim light of low expectations.
  10. No, you're right. You've haven't told us that we can't be delusional unreasonable fans. All you've done is preached that we're not thinking right. Abd we all thank you for letting us know that we have a ways to go before we are good levelheaded and reasonable fans like you. Please continue to try and set us and our expectations right. Maybe one day we'll learn not to be excited.
  11. just some more unreasonable dancing here... and to that i say...
  12. if we don't dance now, when can we? if this whole thing flops, at least i had this summer of hope and optimism. i've had years of hopelessness and apathy. Why the hell wouldn't anyone want to take a chance on this and feel good about it all?
  13. we've been in the doldrums for maybe 8 years and this is the first year i think we've actually had an inkling of a reason to be excited and optimistic. i think i'm not alone in being tired of the doldrums and i'm not turning back. not until i'm proved that my optimism is misplaced. i'm going to enjoy this feeling good as long as i can and i'm going to milk it for everything it might have.
  14. "i never said you couldn't be foolish, unreasonable, and immature! quit putting words in my mouth!"
  15. it's a shame there's some among even our fanbase that can't see this.
  16. still trying to find out why you feel it necessary to go and tell everyone that they shouldn't have rose-colored glasses? what is the harm in that?
  17. @KSpan , when you are saying that these excited fans are being "unreasonable" and "unrealistic" or whatever...that is kind of demeaning. and it's hopes that we have, dammit. no one is saying that it's guaranteed. what kind of foolishness is that? We can see it happening. That's what we're hoping for. We feel good about it. ahhh never mind. go back ahead and consider yourself one of a small group of reasonable rational and reserved grownups in here. you win. please continue to tell us how we shouldn't be excited and maybe, just maybe we'll be as grown up in our fandom as you.
  18. I didn't say anything about giving out your "tempered" opinion on Young or whatever. I mean don't expect people to not be pissed at those "tempered", "reasonable", and "reserved" opinions getting thrown into every discussion between "unreasonable" fans who are, again, excited about Young. And also again, who the fug cares if we are so excited? It may not make sense to you, but...newsflash...it doesn't have to. You all hold a very unpopular and even unwanted opinion about Young, so don't expect it to be received any better than you all might receive our brazen excitement and constant glowing and beaming about our new QB. btw, i guess according to you we're all unreasonable and just not thinking rationally and logically...kind of an insult there, but hey, we're fans which is short for fanatic so i'm not sure what you expect. We're excited about this QB. We're excited about this coaching staff. If you don't want to get pooed on for voicing a very unpopular opinion among those of us who are really excited, then like i said. Stay in the car while we party. if you are fine catching poo for trying to burst our bubble, then have at it. Just don't say you weren't warned that it would happen.
  19. over the top according to who, exactly? Is there some board that decides what is acceptable excitement for a rookie? If we want to crown his ass, we'll crown it.... without anyone's approval, thank you. and those who bring a "reserved, non-trolling" viewpoint, they feel it necessary to tell others to tap the brakes or whatever. To that i say, what business it of yours to tell others to not be so excited? that it's unreasonable to be so excited about a rookie. for the first time in quite a few years most fans are legit excited about what we just got as far as a new awesome coaching staff and a new stud rookie QB (yes, all excited opinions held by many excited fans)...why the hell is that a problem? is it too early for you and a few other "reasonable" fans? who the fug cares? who is telling you all to get excited or how to be a good fan? No. Body. If they/we are just setting ourselves up for disappointment, again, why does that matter to any of the "reserved" and "reasonable" fans? We'll live. We'll bitch, but we'll live. But for the moment, we're jizzed, and that's totally fine. Again, no one is telling any of you "reserved" and "reasonable" fans how to be fan, but I see pity coming towards you "reserved" and "reasonable" fans for not being excited and missing out on a great moment to actually celebrate the future of the franchise. if you "reserved" and "reasonable" fans don't want to join the party, you don't have to. Just stay out in the car and let the kids have their damn fun.
  20. And that's absolutely 100% ok and completely understandable. It's totally appropriate to feel like that.
