I really believe the playbook is simple because of so many rookies and a 1st year offense. New O-line players (but vets) with now a 2nd year center. 3 rookies at WR and TE. I hope as they grow it keeps opening up and Canales feels he can trust them. Same on defense. Rookie MLB, rookies on the DL. A rookie at slot DB. But right now he's always said, just do the basics and be good at it, then you can develop into more. Good steps early enough to save the season as in it gives the team and fans hope for the future as to they are building in the right direction. A good showing, even if we lose against KC will be another nice step forward.

If Bryce plays good we either give him another year and keep building OR get a decent pick for him the better he plays. Would you take Sam Darnold back? Or someone like him? I think taking a QB with a high draft pick is a possibly another 2 year set back if it doesn't work out. Next year they can be competitive and really be rolling by 2026 with the right moves.

DJ Wonnum is back to being healthy at DE and helps generates pressure and a few sacks with Clowney? Adam comes back as the slot receiver and between him Coker and X, they start getting around 300+ yards as a group per game? What if JT Sanders is the real deal and is developing into a top 10 TE? What if MLB Wallace is a more than solid player in the mold of a Dan Morgan? What happens if Brooks is a great 1-2 punch with Chuba and they average well over 100 yards per game? What happens in Horns stays healthy and we have a true shut down corner? What is the O-line continues it's dominance? 4 wins or 6 wins, maybe even 7, doesn't matter. The team shows improvement and plays like a team and it was injuries and a new mentality needed by the team and HC to turn this around. Would you be supportive? Still negative (same old Panthers)? Looks like to me we had a turn around year to be positive about and few more add ons (draft & FA) and this team could at least compete for the playoffs in 2026. Health is #1 and having a system in place for a 2nd year would be huge. No matter how the year finishes, those points are what I'm rooting for.

They probably announced he's going to be release so somebody that wants/needs him may give up a 7th round pick. This happens quite often. Just gotta see if they get something for him.

More picks in the mid rounds the better (obviously the higher the better). Keep Chuba with Brooks (and Blackshear) for next season and beyond. WR Johnson (I like, but understand the business) is a potential trade to a team WR needy (ie: Chiefs). Maybe you get a 6th for Mingo. I would not trade Horn or Brown. Keep the O-line together (or as much as possible). Miles Sanders might get a 5th or 6th if we eat some of the contract to a team in need. Even Dalton could get you a pick if any injuries happen in the league and we are back to playing Young (which I believe deserves another shot). We all need to see, especially the Panthers before the off-season. Canales needs time and his players. By the end of next year we should see a direction (hopefully up) leading to a 2026 playoff contender. These are the lean years but we have to try and stay supportive.

I can see the Panthers trading Miles Sanders away and either eating his contract for a higher pick and getting a very low pick for the other team to take it on. I can see them trading D Johnson for a 2nd to the Chiefs, maybe a 2nd (2025) and a 6th in 2026. They need a WR bad. I can see B Young to the Dolphins for a 3rd and a 7th. If teams get desperate. There's a fine balance between giving up and still trying to win (even if you don't win). Miles and Young have the least impact on the performance. Even though we lost Sunday, we all kind of felt maybe we could pull it out on offense, we just have too many injuries on defense. We'll get guys back soon. Give the Panthers/Canales credit, they have shown just because they pay or draft somebody, they will do what ever it takes to try and win and they should have our support and patience to hopefully get where we all want them to be.

I just hope fans turn up loud and stay supporting even if we struggle. We just might pull it out with some juice in the building.

If he gets an extra 2 year deal out of a few more games like last week, that buys the Panthers time to figure out the long term QB move. I wonder what Canales would have done with having Darnold this year?

What's the scenarios: Dalton plays well and they win some, Bryce remains a back up the year. Dalton plays well and gets hurts (hope nothing serious), Bryce jumps back in and we see what happens. He plays well, we're back on track. He doesn't, he probably gets traded in the off-season. Dalton struggles, They give Bryce a try again. Again - He plays well, we're back on track. He doesn't, he probably gets traded in the off-season. In a team concept, having Bryce play well and building around him with talent is the most economical way to improve (building around a QB on a rookie contract). Or Canales proves he can get any vet QB to play well and they get a decent vet and build a solid team around that. I feel for Bryce as he probably has PTSD from last year and all the negative that was around him. I believe this was a Canales move and he deserves credit for thinking team over an individual or an investment. He's very positive but don't mistake kindness for weakness.

Will you be at the game?

Picking with next year in mind for a team that probably won't make the playoffs this year is a smart move. Next year with a real 1st rd pick and a good 2nd pick, we might have 4 to 5 new solid starters ready to play.

I just wanna play "Sweet Caroline" at least 6 or 7 times at home this year! Actually, fun and exciting games means I get to play more "fun" music throughout the game leading up to Sweet Caroline at the end.

I think this year is as much about Canales as it's about Young. Even if Young is not the guy, which I believe he will be a very good QB, having a HC that will be here for 6 years or more is what will bring consistency and eventually winning football.

It's temporary re-tool. The mixed of vets and those big FA signings is to see what Canales and Young can do together. Can they build around Young and does Canales have what it takes. They gave them enough tools to give them a chance to be competitive. All smart moves. If it works out that we have 6 to 8 wins and a competitive team, they can continue to build around young and give Canales what he wants/needs, even if that means 15 or more new guys next year.

The players the Panthers will pick up will be released the last day, not now.
