Former Panthers QB Cam Newton to be throwing at Auburn's Pro Day
TheCasillas replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am thankful for Cam, and everything he has done for this franchise. It was an awesome experience being able to watch him play football. He had amazing energy and was super charismatic. That being said... This throw is not it... flat, short and wobbly. Also, the presnap stuff... why? This is a throwing exhibition not an NFL practice, there is no defense... what are you pointing at? I dont mean to be so scrutinizing, but it doesnt matter which QB it is .... if they are doing that... they are being scrutinized. -

For those who have been asking what we are going to be doing with our extra cap.....
-
which im truly wondering why... would it be economy related? Is the league trying to bring down prices of players? Pretty wild stuff.

Thanks to @thunderraiden @Purrnicious@therealmjl ... I would have never thought to do this, but I just texted my buddy about what sup with Byrd... "Panthers are talking to him, and he would love to come back here" "The other team talking to him is GB" Also, my buddy shared with me something that we did for Damiere that is pretty wild that I had no idea NFL franchises would do for a free agent, but I will say holy poo... our FO is so fuging cool. bonus note: Byrd is getting married in uptown at the Bohemian in a couple of weeks.

I can speak personally about Damiere, he would come back here if offered. He spends a lot of time here in charlotte. My best friend is really close with Damiere.

I'd think they want to free up the capital for inseason signings and carry over cap -

These certainly feel like "intentional leaks" for opposing teams.... It has been reported that the Texans want Bryce... this could be us enticing them to make the deal. -

i thought of this as well, but it would be puzzling if they did it after the draft considering they could get talent now instead of later. I cant think of a team that has done a trade that big after a draft. unless a player was involved... -

You dont build your roster for Nickel alignment. I am not arguing semantics. I am clarifying the statements you are making that are inaccurate... ie nickel is a base alignment. It is not. If we were building for Nickel, why in the world would we have 9 Lbers to 6 CBs on the roster? -

you think base means how often you are in a certain package. Thats not what it is ... its based on how you assemble the roster. 3-4 completely changes for your talent acquisitions for your dline and lbers vs 4-3. You are taking this stuff like its a madden playbook, rather than how you assemble your franchise. -

we are not a base of nickel. We are a 3-4 base. You dont put a nickel package on the field against a jumbo or 21 or 22 offensive package. Lions did that against us last year..... how did that turn out? Coach Campbell even said that he was stubborn and stayed in nickel bc he thought it would eventually work. -

Why though? WR1 play out of slot more than ever in this league.... they are the motion receivers. Modern NFL has WR1 moving around and not sitting on the boundary like they used to. You want your best corner to be able to play the nickel position bc its not a one direction cut route like the boundary line. It's not like Horn is going to be on the bench when we are running base. We are just moving horn inside in nickel package. -

yeah, i was going off of your original comment: Sounds like Horn is primarily gonna be a nickel? Okay... Which read as if you were saying it is a weird decision, but it isnt anything new. If you didnt mean it that way... then its null. -

He shadowed the WR1. When that WR1 when into the slow, he went with him. It was shared in one of the threads here on the huddle that Horn played over 30% of his snaps in the nickel position. -

He played Nickel for us last year... that isnt news. He had multiple QB hurries last yea bltizing form nickel, including a two tipped balls in which one of them landed in Derrick Brown's hands for an interception.
