First before this goes down a route where it feels like im talking poo about Stroud, I am not. I made a statement on how he looks compared to the other QBs. Second, CJ Stroud has been called long and lengthy his entire life. He had an interview where he shared growing up it was really hard for him to gain weight. In high school he was a pencil. This is from his own stories. CJ is a skinny kid... 6'3 213lbs is a small frame for his size. Luckily, he has the height to add the weight. -

There is no way CJ runs anything lower than a 4.8, and that's okay. -

I said he appeared to skip the weight room based on his physique. Could this be what you are referring to? Never "out of shape" though. -

Do you think a college athlete's speed changes much over 2 seasons? It's not like he just stopped working out or running. haha -

These are the numbers when they are recruited into a college. They come from his tryouts. -

Either our FO is irconclad or they got players under NDA. I linked the video at a point where DJ discusses his conversation with Scott on who we are picking. It's about 15 seconds of content: -

Combine isn’t nationally televised, it’s behind paid programming. these players showcase during their football season at their respective programs. Smith wants to abolish the NFL combine bc he feels it is an intrusive and inappropriate hiring practice for NFL teams to conduct. In the article I shared with you he makes good points. Especially how they have to see 32 diffferent team doctors in a single day, pretty insane. we are no longer in an era where these players are inaccessible due to lack of technology. We know everything about these kids because of what tech enables today, the combine’s original purpose has aged. Before it was a way for a player to showcase their skills bc no one had heard of them due to them not getting their name in the papers or picked up on main stream television. Feel how you want and defend all you can, but based on how passionate he is about this and the buy-in he has from the NFLPA… combine will be changing and that’s inevitable.
-
Tell DeMaurice Smith that… this is the NFLPA’s top priority. Not field conditions and types but the fuging combine is what is important to him.
-
If the NFLPA wants it gone, then they will get it gone. NFL will just televise pro days. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35617811/nflpa-demaurice-smith-calls-end-nfl-scouting-combine?platform=amp

The NFL combine is fan fare. Players do it all again on their pro days. Players are measured when they do visits to teams. There is nothing from the combine that should play any role in deciding your quarterback. we are merely a couple years away from the combine not even being in existence. don’t put stock in it to judge a player. That’s not the right place to put any energy, considering these kids are advised on what to do and not to do by people who have a strong understanding of their draft day fate.
