What if thanos didn’t kill iron man? -
Why was Josh Norman a one hit wonder?
TheCasillas replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
We didn’t… that was the problem. We kept leaning on the old guard to carry us into a new era. -
It just seems if not playing Corral was the plan from the get go, we would have closed the deal with the browns one month sooner to get Baker in during OTAs. I know we can lean into Rhule is dumb. However, I wouldn't dismiss the notion that Corral playing this year went out the window when they got a glimpse of him at rookie camp.

This is a fair assumption, and I dont think its too farfetched. The whole "wait a month" thing was a bit too timely.

Bucs lose another starting OL for the year
TheCasillas replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is very interesting news. Reminds of a convo we were having in a neighboring thread around if you lose 3 starts from a position group then its going to be very difficult to have a winning season. @LinvilleGorge& @DaveThePanther2008this is a good use case based off of our conversation in this thread. If Wirfs injury proves to be more than what has surfaced... the bucs would be down 3 starters on the oline. -
This will be rhule’s first year with a competitive roster. He has no wiggle room. He also has a chance to prove he has the chops. It’s going to be a very telling year. Really is boom or bust.
-
Possibly. I just don’t think he had a fair shake in Arizona. Keim really fuged wilks while he was there. Give wilks no talent and an aging roster with a rookie qb that didn’t belong in the league.
-
Those were toxic environments that were causing franchise issues and negative rep. There just not the same. Those were bad attitudes and poor personas. We just have a poor performing coach. It’s just not the same.
-
Completely different situation. Nothing should ever be compared to the Meyer situation and the nfl should never let anything like that happen ever again.
-
In all honesty , I don’t see us losing those 3 games off of roster alone. However, if we even lose 2 of those 3 … this will be a dark season.
-
If he starts the season 0-3 I’d endorse firing him before that Monday morning I’d like to see wilks in role

I think our debate was over whether Darnold is better than PJ. Statistically Darnold is far better than PJ. If you take PJ attempts and match them with Sam… PJ would have 11 more INTs and - less TD. Also, PH would have been sacked 21 more times. Not sure how PJ rushing TD would have been… but from statistic trends would have been basically nothing.
-
How about this… show me a team that released their snap/rep counts…. As @t96shared…. The snaps counts we thought Darnold and baker were splitting… weren’t even close.
-
I’m pretty sure every QB that was drafted in the 2022 draft played with 3rd stringers except Willis bc he was pulled due to not running the offense correctly. I could Be wrong here, but based on what I have observed this lines up.
-
I’d argue that Sam is better than PJ. I’m actually fairly confident that Sam is better than PJ. Where that rates to the nfl… that’s a different story
-
I think it’s worth asking… if corral was so “highly rated” then why did he fall in the draft?
-
Yeah I get that, and I agree. However, the money spent is the money spent. So at this point I’m not mad at the QB1 and QB2 situation.
-
The knock on corral coming out of the draft was that he wasn’t built for the nfl physically. Didn’t take long to confirm that. the whole thought process behind it being the olives fault, or the coach’s fault is short sighted. He would have taken that same hit regardless of the people in front of him at some point in his career. MC should focus on using the season to gain size and insight from baker and sean Ryan.
-
It’s not like we would have the worse qb situation in the nfl. Baker at 1 and Sam at 2, isn’t a horrible position to be in. Upgrade compared to the last two years.
-
In all fairness … Kyle Dugger is a big boy and running at full speed. Stopping that man at his velocity would have taken a brick wall with support.
-
At this point this entire fan base should be investing into baker’s success. If baker fails, the franchise fails.
