    Do you know a GM personally? Pretty intersting that you can state that so certainly. If you know someone then by all means do share. At the end of the day teams are trading contracts, and the dollar amount of those contracts are how franchise measure gaining value. Teams are not in the business to pay for other team's contracts.

    its pretty evident that our circumstance is that we arent trading players just to trade them. Therefore we will always have leverage, bc they are buyers, but we are not yet sellers.

    Does really matter how it looks if teams want CMC? They are going to call and say "we arent going to give you 2 firsts, but we will start a 2nd and 3rd..." Then the negotiation process begins. Panthers are going to leak "Team is willing to negotiate on a couple mid round picks for CMC...." They are hedging right now. They also wont have to waste time taking callings from teams who wont offer more than a 4th. This is pretty the same way private equity firms shop their investments if they dont see it going public.

    I would say this same thing for ANY franchise in the NFL in this situation. 1. Low Draft Picks 2. Contract is basically already paid 3. Teams are calling bc its a losing season 4. Not desperate to trade Nothing about this is "homerism" this is looking how businesses are run in the NFL. Which is my favorite part of the entire sport.

    You'd have to get the bills/team to eat 18.5 million next year in contract. Teams arent going to sign up for that, and I think our FO is like "fine, then we want to be comfortable eating that so we want a first + other picks."

    you do this so often man, people provide rational points then you immediately resort "X sucks" and "only won x games" People dont have to agree with each other. You spent so much time trying to convince people a point that is purely speculation. I feel for you, but you got to just move on and accept that people dont agree with you. As for blaming CMC for our 5 games winning... i dont want to even touch that.

    thats the thing... we arent going to be able to pass over the contract. We already paid this year's gaurantee and trading CMC just to trade him isnt what the franchise is trying to do. I dont think we are attempting to recoup the contract. I think we are trying to get more picks in the upcoming draft but premium picks. There has been no news of the Panthers wanting to dump CMC's contract. If CMC continues to stay healthy, and plays well this year... his contract willl be one of the easiest on the roster to restructure for relief on the cap, and it will be worth it.

    why? they just leaked "the bar" now teams know where to start when negotiating. Obviously we wont get two first round picks. However, now teams know where to start negotiating down. If they dont call, then they dont call. The bottom line is that if we trade CMC we are putting ourselves in dead cap hell.... the only thing that makes that easier to deal with is cheap talented players in the way of early round picks.

    Coach Franklin has been know to play his older players. It’s just the way the runs the team. The backup qb at penn st drew allar was one of the best passers in the country and unlocks their playbook but he still goes with Clifford. it’s not Levis unable to beat out Clifford, it’s Levis unable to be old enough for Franklin. I’m sure there are some PSU fans on this board who can validate this. also, Franklin is a hell of a recruiter but a mediocre game day coach.
