The "running QB" has a huge opportunity this Super Bowl
TheCasillas replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am not sure why you feel this is an argument. I stated that the Eagles have given up the same amount of sacks as the Bengals. 44. The Eagles have given up the 11th most sacks in the NFL. They give up sacks. However, you think thats my expertise... and suggest that PFF grades means this isnt true... this is a really weird debate. -

I dont know how PFF is going to tell that those sacks werent real... The eagles give up sacks... PFF isnt going to change that. -

Its all speculation at this point, but we are a mere 3 weeks removed from when the 100% heatlhy Eagles oline gave us 6 sacks in a single game. The Eagles didnt pass a lot bc Hurts arm just isnt right. He overthrew multiple recievers and his accuracy was off. That was pretty evident. I'd take Mahomes with a bum ankle over any QB with a bum shoulder. KC gave up less sacks per game than the 49ers did. KC has the top 3 offensive line in the NFL this year. So stating 49ers have a better line isnt backed by the statisitics. KC gave up an average of 1.5 sacks per game while the 49ers gave up 1.9. I'd have to say that the Eagles being favored right now will change next week. Today Andy Reid intentionally did not give an injury update. So at this moment we have no idea if Toney, JuJu and/or Hardman will be playing. Again this is a speculative conversation, so no one is wrong. I am just following the data. -

how does the stat around how many sacks the eagles oline gives up per game (2.59), the fact that them and the bengals gave up the exact same amount of sacks this year (44) AND the eagles 2nd best starting olineman was not able to lift his arm after the game....not able to help you with the bolded comment above? -
Respectfully, are you doing the math of your suggestion? That is negative 8 million dollars by this single transaction you are suggesting, and you still get the dead cap into next year as well... By cutting D-Jax... for no reason whatsover... you are accumilating 13 million dollars in dead cap over two years for 5.2million in 2023.... Do you see the discrepancy with that logic? There is no outcome of cutting D-Jax in 2023 that you are saving any money at all....
-
You still eat 8m in dead cap. That's not worth it. You'd be cutting him for pennies on that dollar at the point. You'd be better off letting him heal up and show that he can still play football and shopping him in the offseason. If we were a team in dire need of cap space and in desperation mode, that would be the only reason to even consider that option. We are not that team. There is no business logic behind cutting ties with D-Jax in 2023 that would provide us any value or cap relief. 2024 cap is not an issue... but that doesnt mean you can cut people just to cut people bc it wont cost money later.... thats not how you run any type of business, let alone a NFL franchise.
-
Cutting Jackson would be boneheaded...You keep him one more year and you get 10million back in saving.. cut him this year you pay 12m and save 2m... there is no value in cutting Jackson. Trading? different story.

I was told the Panthers have no money to play with and did a poo job managing their salary cap. Now with this new number... and the 3 players eating up 40million in cap space that are about to get restrucured or released... we can expect an active free agency. Also, the Panthers have over 150 million available next year. Top 5 in total cap available.

Limping Mahomes will be on his 4th week since the injury. Dont forget we are 2 weeks away from the Super Bowl. He will get much needed rest on that ankle. He wont be 100% but he will more than he was this past weekend and that will be enough to perform against the Eagles. The Eagles and Bengals gave up the exact same amount of sacks this season. The Eagles give up an average of 2.59 sacks per game. I wouldnt use their oline as the difference maker. I'd use how the Chiefs locked down the Bengals receivers with their game plan. The doubled both Higgins and Chase and asked the Bengals to beat them in the middle of the field. The Chiefs also completely shutdown the Bengals running game. Bengals and Eagles are by design the same team but have Hurts as a running QB. Judging by Hurts performance this past weekend, that shoulder isnt 100% either. Takeaway the missed incompletion from Devonta, and the Eagles had less than 100 yards passing.... Lastly, Landon Dickerson was injured late in the game as well.. still waiting on that: Landon Dickerson suffered an injury to his right arm and had to leave early. Dickerson even skipped the blue medical tent and went right to the locker room. Dickerson let his right arm dangle as he walked off the field -

I really dont see a path where the Eagles win this game. However, any given Sunday. -
what else can we do for you while you are sharing your personal requests for how the huddle can serve you?

Fangio to Miami official....well...maybe... probably tho
TheCasillas replied to jb2288's topic in Carolina Panthers
He probably sees an raise path to head coach in Miami. I’m sure that is part of his deal. If McDaniel fails and they axe him mid season then fangio takes over. McDaniel apparently is on thin ice with Ross bc he runs the team like “an undisciplined step father” per leaks -
Kellen Moore out in Dallas. Think he is heading here?
-
this was Butker's worst year of his career. He missed 25% of his kicks.
-
Reddick had already signed with the Eagles before Jackson signed with us....

Bc of Corbett and Bozeman. They were the trade offs for Reddick

If you think missing out on Fangio wrecks our season... you should take a break from football because you are angry at something you do not understand. reminds me when my dad used to say to me when I used to slam my golf club into the ground after a wicked slice....... you are not good enough to get angry.- 142 replies

sounds like gauranteed money even if McDaniel and co get canned. Just bc you have a lot of it doesnt mean you spend it. Tepper probably didnt see the deal that Miami was giving him as something he wanted to commit to. Ross might be paying for 3 different coaches come 2025-2026.

CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reports "momentum is gathering" for the Panthers to hire ex-Broncos coach Vic Fangio as their defensive coordinator. Coach Frank Reich wants Fangio on his staff, according to Anderson, with the Panthers considering making him the highest paid defensive coordinator. Miami has also been connected to Fangio, who interviewed with the team this week. Fangio has a history with Carolina, coordinating their defense from 1995-1998. The 64-year-old coach has been one of the most coveted coordinators during this coaching cycle.
