  1. There is 2 NFC teams and 1 AFC team that watson has on his list. The Jets thing is interesting bc they should be a dark horse more than a likelihood. We have no idea if Watson wants to play there. There are rumblings that he wanted to play with Saleh, so there is that. I dont see the Texans trading him to AFC as a first choice, bc they are automatically eliminating a playoff spot by doing that.
  2. texans really dont have much room to play hardball. This is a very unfortunate situation for HOU and their fans. If they were choosing to trade Watson, they could potentially get four 1st round picks or not trade at all, but since this is driven by watson, there is no outcome but a trade.
  3. If a team wants you in FA they come after you, and you agree to a deal with them. If the texans are in a situation where 3 teams offer a package and Watson only agrees to one of the teams... then the Texans have very little choice. The Texans literally have no power in this situation. Its either trade him, or sit on an extremely large contract with a non playing player. Other teams know this, and I dont think Texans will get an optimized haul due to this.
  4. Here the root definition of a NTC: A no-trade clause is a contractual clause that allows players to veto trades to certain teams. ... This is basically free agency for Watson.
  5. It wasn't the stay that frustrated Cam, it was the exit. In fairness, the franchise made the right move by moving on. If Cam had a Pro Bowl season though, im sure this line of thinking would be a concern. Also, Cam might be the reason we are on this short list of Watson's to begin with.
  6. Just keep in mind, Watson will have to sign off. That's what makes this deal so challenging. So no matter how sweet the pot, unless Watson waives the no trade clause... it wont happen.
  7. okay thats fair. I read race as a sprint in your previous message. Let the race be run.
  8. you and both know how involved owners can ruin franchises. We are watching it live now (the texans).
  9. I just dont see Cal Mcnair signing off on it. He is extremely egotistical
  10. I don't see the Texans jumping the gun.... they will stall as long as they can on this.
  11. I just dont think its necessary. It's not a race to get Watson. The Texans are absolutely fuged right now. They will not get the haul they would if it were the franchise's decision to trade him. They are going get shortchanged by all the possible contenders. It's really going to come down to an A-tier players 9no S-tier) and a couple draft picks. I'm more worried about SF than NYJ and MIA. I really don't think the Texans trade within the conference. They would be putting salt on the wound. Plus this would be the first move for a new GM, so he will want to prove himself.
  12. Got it. Thanks, I wasnt following your post. I see what you were leading with now.
  13. You may want to attempt to re-write this, or at least read the entire discussion in this thread. Be a valued contributor if possible please.....
  14. We are on his list for the no trade clause. Ask Watson. Maybe he misses the area? or maybe he hears Rhule is a legit coach? or he sees all of the weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Or he sees a division with 3 aging qbs and that the division is going to be wide open.
  15. Im suggesting that a franchise can win a super bowl without 2 first rounds picks and an all star expensive QB. it's how you assemble the roster around them.
  16. this was a horrible op ed. Would have been better off as a huddle post.
  17. Rodgers won his super bowl outside of his Rookie contract and the Packers drafted a 1st round bust in Harrell in 2007 didn't have a 1st round pick in 2008 and Rodgers signed his mega deal in 2010. Then drafted another bust in 2011. So what I am seeing is.... The Packers spent a shitload of money on QB, and won a super bowl with a bust and no first round pick. The proceeded to bust on the next year's pick.
  18. Wouldnt we if we got Watson? Aaron Rodgers has the same impact on the pack cap, as watson would here.
  19. Packers live off of free agency/trades... Chiefs too... Bills as well. It's not a Bucs strategy. Even though they are the topic right now.
  20. Texans are not in a position where getting CMC back is even an option for them. Plus I doubt caserio takes a superstar contract back, he will be leading a total rebuild. Ground zero rebuild.
  21. This is most likely going to be the offer on our end. Maybe a future 2nd/3rd.
