  1. was there another press conference today? Because this is from the transcipt of yesterday's presser: (If not, I see discrepencies in Joe Person's quoting) RE: Circumstances surrounding Sam Darnold fumble "I have to see the tape to see if [Giovanni] Ricci was too tight. Sam has to seat that ball a little tighter. Gio has to be a little wider. I think we are going to not just get the first down but walk in for a touchdown. We had it wired. Guys made great blocks. Who exactly it was, I would have to watch the tape to see. That's a play we run all the time and never had any issue on. Like everything else, little things here and there that have to be cleaned up to be a good team."
  2. I agree, and good question. Im going to assume that Dan was on the other side of the line or that Ian was in spelling Dan. I wonder if Dan comes down with that ball ...
  3. they have talked about his feet constantly... almost every conversation. Stating he needed to settle down. Brady said it, Rhule said it, Sean Ryan said it, and Steve Smith said it.
  4. or it just could be what happened? I mean we will find out once we get the angle of the fumble on the all22
  5. do we have an all 22 of the exchange in one of the threads? that would probably allow this convo to be a bit more pinpoint and constructive.
  6. We were hot swapping Chandler and Chinn at FS and NB during the 4th quarter. I assume we will do the same. STO can play nickel as well.
  7. Rhule said in the postgame conference that Ricci was supposed to go wider.. sounds like its not just solely on Darnold.
  8. Panthers CB Myles Hartsfield will undergo wrist surgery. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Hartsfield's wrist injury is not season ending, though he could miss significant time. Carolina's secondary, ripped by rookie QB Zach Wilson in the second half of their Week 1 game, could prove vulnerable in the short term.
  9. So the delay wasnt due to the stadium team. It was actually Hassan Reddick, he was late to come out of the locker room. Instead of just going out when their name was called, they waited on him... It was on the stadium cam. You could see Shaq and Jermaine yelling for Reddick to come out. It ended up throwing the entire thing off. Eventually the stadium team was like "all of you go"
  10. yeah that down 4th down blitz was the only piece i thought was too aggressive. Other than that... perfect game called.
  11. here is the next line....But when Wilson was kept clean in the pocket, he (mostly) picked apart the Carolina secondary -- enough to turn around a dreadful first half performance in his debut.
  12. Zach Wilson completed 15 of 21 passes for 149 yards, a touchdown, and an interception when not facing pressure in Week 1 against Carolina. No QB was pressured more often than Wilson in Week 1. The Jets offensive line was overwhelmed time and again against a middling Panthers front seven. Leaving this here.
  13. that was dope. We were taunting the Jets fans in the stands during that celebration
  14. what I am saying is that we didnt just roll over and die... That's been my point the entire time. You can use the box score all you want, that's fine. The play calls were there in the 4th, the execution was not. It will come... we are the youngest team in the NFL and have very little continuity on offense... they will come together.
  15. I wish these damn reporters would ask questions for the fans... not this dumb poo. Like the one reporter who asked EVERY player "was this first day of school vibes?" like wtf? Thats a training camp quesiton.
  16. Drive 5 was a shoe string tackle away from CMC breaking a single tackle for a TD. That play call was perfect, but the Jet's player (Guidry) made an excellent play. It's not like we werent trying to score there.
  17. Thats a Joe Judge and David Gettleman led team. That's a much easier match up than the Jets. Judge is a horrendous head coach. At least the Jets have an elite D coordinator as their head couch.... what was Judge? A special teams coach? That team threw in the towel mid way through the 3rd quarter, when Judge threw a red flag to try to challenge a scoring play... and giving up a costly TO due to coaching infraction. What an idiot.
  18. yeah it was slower than I wanted as well.... but the 4th quarter I wouldnt say were being beat "soundly" - that's all I am getting at.
  19. That's pretty extreme.... The Jets scored a TD on busted coverage and then got the 4th adn 15 conversion because we brought the house. Outside of those two plays... there really wasnt much from the Jets in the second half. We controlled the ball in the fourth quarter and the game was in hand pretty the entire way.
  20. agreed. Luckily for us is just a matter of execution and not incompetence. After sleeping on this last night, this was basically our last preseason game. Game 1 is this Sunday in terms of chemistry and fundamentals
  21. @Zodyou got any footy on Cam Erving? I've been thinking about what the coaching staff will do this week to address the o line. Obviously they are reviewing tape today and making some decisions this week. Im just wondering who are we going to give a shot? Brown? Christenson? If Brady, where on the line will he play? The most notiecable challenge was the guard positions yesterday.
  22. It is the reason why we drafted Tremble. I think we were trying to disguise the play based on the personnel. Tremble pretty much tips our hat that it will be a run play. I saw this a couple times yesterday. I also saw that we would sub 3-4 players every single play.
  23. Not that I disagree, but the Jets also made counter adjustments and we didn’t figure that out until the fourth quarter. It’s a two way street on this stuff. It’s not like we rolled over and played dead.
  24. The Bears should consider a fire sale before the trade dealine. They need to get picks to surround fields if they want him to be successful. Their oline is worst than ours, they have very few weapons, and their defense is aging and has too many holes. Fire your coach. Ship out your heavy contracts, and get Fields some reps. Then clean slate 2022 when its time to spend some money.
  25. this bears team isnt going to let Nagy make it to week 4
