  1. Brandon Staley is a defensive coordinator turned head coach for the chargers. He was the rams defensive coordinator last year.
  2. I get that adding to two weeks allows teams to court coaches quicker, but on the flip side… it’s not like these coaches are going to rush to get hired unless it’s their only opportunity. take Eberflus for example. There is a chance he won’t go to the playoffs this year. So he would be available to do interviews as soon as week 17. However, his agent is going to tell him “don’t take the first offer, there are going to be many opportunities available after the season” i get that notion its a head start, but it doesn’t mean it’s an early hire. Coaches are gonna want to strike bidding wars, and wait for other coaches to get hired to set the market price. It’s going to be interesting to watch.
  3. His father and Rhule are friends. He has way more access to infromation than we do. I've been DM'ing him on Slack to get more information, haha. Nothing good though.
  4. He is probably going to be worth the exact same value of pick this offseason. His trend line stayed stable, it didnt go up.
  5. Id honestly extend him or trade him this off-season. No middle option. my reason for extension, talented player that would be elevated with solid QB play (see Chris Godwin) my reason for trade, he could get us potentially two picks, if not a mid to late first. Right now where the team currently is positioned for assets in the draft, this could weigh more than his Sunday roster spot.
  6. its the momentum and angle of the ball that throws off Hubbard. Cam is falling in to him and ball is coming from a downward position with an upward angle. I love Cam to death, but he should have just went down. 9 out of 10 QBs tuck that ball and live for the next play.
  7. from a philisophy perspective, what do you think the difference is? Ive been thinking about this more and more lately. The only things that come to mind is : 1. Money 2. Layers of leadership 3. Talent gap is much more narrow
  8. So an interesting thing occurred this past Friday at my company xmas party I attended. We flew in all of our team members from all over the country... I often make jokes about the Panthers in social environments, including with my clients. Well turns out one of our newer employees in PA, is the son of a former coach at PSU (among other schools) that is now retired, who has known Matt Rhule since they were both volunteer assistants in '98 at PSU. I shared with him that the fan base is losing faith in Rhule, and he seems like the kind of guy who doesnt know what he is doing. The kid actually got rather defensive (he is not a panthers fan at all), and said that his father has shared a lot of stories about Rhule, and how many who have interacted with him have instantly respected him. Shared that players gravitate to Rhule and that he builds relationships while building programs. He stated that his father has been intrigued by the way the Panthers are run, but doesnt jump to any assumptions because as observers we have no idea what happens on the inside. He agreed with the moving on from Joe Brady, and that even at LSU Brady didnt have to pull together game plans. He was apart of them, but the curator. He said that Rhule was trying to help Brady "get there," but its evident to what happened. Lastly, his father stated that Rhule is a super humble person, and honestly thought he could build something with the same people he had before, but he expects Rhule to recover and make the necessary decisions this offseason to course correct. He also stated that no one knows how Tepper thinks, and ultimately that will be the decision make in the end. He did state that Tepper seems like the type that wants his investments to succeed. This thread reminded me of this convo I had on Friday, just now came to me. Anyways dont shoot the messenger.
  9. I wonder if he does end up having to have his staff chosen for him if he clashes with them. I mean he would be able to interview them... so if he chooses them, its fair to assume he would like them, right?
  10. He is going to cost a 1st at the least. He is one of the betters qbs in the league this year. He is actually a top 4 QB when facing pressure.
  11. There has been, but we didnt win. but here is one where we did win....
  12. He was signing Christmas cards or memorabilia. It was for the kids in the room in the background
  13. fug man. Here we go again... You can watch the 15seconds of his response right here, I shortcutted it for you. As for the question that was asked. David Newton asked for who's fault is it for why the team has been trending down since starting 3-0. Erving simply replies that he isnt going to get into the blame game, and fall for the media trap. States its a team game, and the entire team is accountable for showing up on Sundays. This a new trend in the NFL right now, where players are turning against the media. I suggest those check out the Poyer and Micah Hyde video from last Sunday. Players are fed up with the dumb questions the media is asking to create headlines and division within locker rooms.
  14. I honestly think that Daboll is not the capable head coach that is being floated out there. Opposing defenses have figured out the Bills offense, and Daboll is not adjusting. Just like how Shula was saved by Cam, Daboll is saved by Josh. I'd prefer to stay away from him. As for Kellen Moore, he definitely has days where he looks like an absolute gem, but there are other Sundays where even Cowboys fans are scratching their heads. I prefer we steer clear of these two. I think we all know who the right candidate wil be if Rhule is let go.
  15. Rhule was saying that Cam should have just went down instead of making a play. Not sure how this is getting misinterpeted. Not defending Rhule, just fighting against media's forced narrative.
  16. you are judging our rookie class 4/5 into their rookie season. Here is my rebuttal: Jaycee Horn : his injury is no reason to call him "pathetic" Terrace Marshall Jr: His growth has been stumped by the obvious.. too early to judge Chuba: Has played very well as a rookie in this league Daiyon Nixon: He was balling before his week 8 knee injury that ended his season... so not sure what you mean "he's been on the field" Keith Taylor: Depth who has proven he can start Deonte Brown: ghost player. Shi Smith: Doesnt have a spot on game day and was a 6th round pick. Thomas Fletcher: Not a fan of the move Phil Hoskins: He is a space eater and played well two weeks ago. 7th round pick...
  17. Scott Fitterer is our saving grace for getting picks back. The man was a tactician in the draft. Im not ready to show him the door. I'd like to see him a year without Rhule telling him what to trade and who to sign.
  18. Different situation. That situation was ervings fault. Erving being on the roster isn’t up for debate.
