Health has always been a concern for the broncos receivers. Collectively they have missed over 2 seasons worth of football in 2 years. that’s why I think they will go after devante Adams. Him with fant, Sutton and Patrick would be ridiculous
-
Absolutely. This move is 100% to land Rodgers. Which sucks for Hackett bc thats what he will be tied to. I think the Broncos land both Rodgers and Adams this offseason. They will ship the yard and hand over a player like Jeudy in the process. But I think thats how it will play out.
-
He wanted the Bronocs job.

I fuging love Mike McDaniel. The guy is a whiz kid. A bit goofy, extremely goofy. I dont know how he would hold up as a HC, but he very entertaining at the podium. If Trey Lance turns into an AP next year, then he is a must hire.
-
If Im the packers, Im like fug it. Im going to want multiple 1sts for A-Rod and Im going to Franchise Tag Devante Adams. Then trade him for more picks. More than what ARZ traded for Hopkins.
-
It’s going to happen. Devante Adams gonna land their too. Gonna be wild.

Albert Breer on the Panthers quarterback options
TheCasillas replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like the idea of Carr. As long as we can get strong oline in front of him. The guy throws some very pretty balls. -
sure, but this is one side of the story. Ignoring CMC, because due to injury it hard to defend financials because of the variable. However, Shaq for instance, restructuring his contract is not a bad thing if the intention is to keep him for the long term. Shaq, and this coud be argued, is deserving of an extension, and it's possible the resturcting was part A of the cap plan. Part B would be an extension that takes the money and portion it to gtd to lower the overall cap number. Not saying this is what the franchise is doing, but it's common that these talented types have plans on how the improve overall cap health. It's very simliar to how HR forecast for hiring and staffing. Everything is a run and not in the moment decisions making, unless you are MH. We will see how it plays out, but under Samir we are in far better health than we were under MH. the guy has been doing this for a long time.

To avoid going in circles on this RA contract. We have no idea how he will perform this year. We can savage the money with a post 6/1 trade, or we can cut him next year. Right now its speculation that he will get injured, not play well bc Darnold is QB, or that we dont have an oline. We will see how it plays out. Im not a fan of keepign RA, but Im a fan of how we setup the contract with ways to get money back.

I totally get the whole thing about bad players and not showing up on the field. However, that is not Samir's role. The guy made it where we are not stuck with and deals. Thats the whole point to all of this. All of his contracts are structured in a way where we can get out with short term, and not long term impact. CMC can be the exception, but even with his contract being as high as it is, it is still structured for us to be able to move on next year and not be handicapped for years. As for Shaq's, it is structured where we can release him next year and double back in savings what we would spend in dead cap. That i a big pull for a contract of that size. Again, Samir does not choose who we sign, but how we sign them. Samir has done everything he can to keep our big picture long term fiancial health in the green. That's why he was most likely being poach. What he did for this franchise cap wise, was why he is getting a promotion. He flipped us right side up, when we were upside down under MH.
-
i get the joke, but its literally the one thing you can see. We've gone from 100million in dead cap to 7 millino dead cap in two years. Thats a tremendous feat.
-
dude Samir cant be the fall guy for these players not making the roster or being bad talent at signing. His job is NUMBERS not talent. I dont know why you are so stuck on blaming him for the talent that MH and Rhule chose to sign.
-
we can trade Robby post 6/1 and it would save us 13mill and only be on the for 4. We do have an out next year. Like I said, RA's contract is a one year extension. We cut him next offseason and its 13 and 4 again. The decision behind it is not was im referring to but rather how we handled it financially to not handcuff us for the long term. Samir isnt the owner of who we sign, its how we sign them.
-
cutting paradis would have cost us 14million in dead cap and we would have paid out the rest of his contract (5 total years). By voiding his last two years, we saved 6 million for the long term. Paradis was a bad contract handed out by MH. It was salvaged with this move.

Dude, I have told 2 different times on this MB that Samir was NOT here as an employee of the Carolina Panthers for the KK Contract. That was in 2019. Here is an easy breakdown for you: Sumir hired 1/22/20 Tre Boston - 2019 KK - 2019 Russell Okung - Trade 3/2020 - we had no input on existing contract and Samir was focused on future cap and taking over for MH on cap John Miller is a 1 year deal for less than 1 million (???) Weatherly - bad signing (MH) and only 6mil total cap hit Seth Roberts?? Wtf is he even brought up. You mad we signed a bottom of the roster player for 600k GTD???? Eli Apple 1 year deal at 3mil with 750k cap hit... Dude everythig you just brought up, was our team bargain shoppig withn ABSOLUTE ZERO impact on future cap. The ONLY player we are paying for right now in dead cap in that list is Tre Boston. That was pre-Samir.

Yup. The guy doesnt put up with people's poo and shady practices. He is direct and upfront. It wasnt a threat it was figurative speech. And yes, it was a bad way to position his metaphor. https://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=2161515

What are we next year? Dont forget when he got here he had to assume the 4-5 year contracts that we already had on the books. 2023 is that period where those are long here....

this.

Tiny resume? He signed Reddick for cheap and got us 10 sacks out of it He fixed the cap hit that Shaq made on our books by restructuring his deal and we can move on (trade/release) from him and it would give us more cap savings. He restructred Paradis's contract to void the final years of the deals so we wouldnt be paying 10+ mill per season for an injured center He fixed our disaster of a situation that MH gave us with over 100 million dead cap in back to back years He stuctured Elfein and Erving's contacts so we can cut them and save money He made it where we can move on from Moton's contact in the final two years of his deal and pay 3 million while saavig 17.5million if it doesnt work out in the long run (the anti--hurney) He has a built in out in the CMC contract for next year He has put us in the healthiest cap situation this franchise has ever seen heading into 2023 What do you mean tiny resume? I only listed 8 things from top of my head. There are so many things that he handles as a "CFO" that we do not see.
-
Its a one year extension. We legit can cut RA this year and pay 4million, and save cap. We have an out next offseason with little penalty. None of his contracts are traps like MH's. Suluiman came here in 2020 and we had 4 million in avialable cap and 50+ dead cap. The guy has us in a position where next year we will have the most cap in the league. You can hate all of this micro-transactions but none of them impact the big picture. It's a business and at the end of the day his job is numbers. He took us from crisis to a greenfield situation. I get that we dont like who Rhule/Fitt are chooosing to be on the team, but Suluiman is the reason we arent going to be in cap hell with any of these contracts.
-
He was hired by Tepper. Tepper knew him from their time at Pittsburgh. He took MH's job of handling the salary cap for obvious reasons.

Hell yeah! Who was the nerd that was chasing me around on the message board claiming I was making poo up about Samir being a badass and great at his job?
