  1. I wonder if everyone on this forum realize that landing a top QB in a draft doesnt mean you HAVE to have a losing season the year prior.... every year a team or two trades up to grab a QB. If your roster is good enough, you do it. Bills did it. Chiefs did it. 49ers did it. Ravens did it.

  4. the franchise is in a transition state, and the best way to keep it interesting is changing things. Its basically a distraction. As in "look at this shiny thing" while someone takes out of your pocket.
  5. sure, but very rarely does a rebrand have a "personal connection" to your organization. At the end of the day, a rebrand's main goal is to make you attractive to new customers/talent. Never is a rebrand for your existing custromer base, there is no point or drive for that. Why change something people are used to? It only makes them angry/frustrated/confiused.... ie see this thread.
  6. Okay cool - yeah I definitely agree here. Ideally if we could get a rook QB, and land Jimmy G... that would be a picture perfect offseason IMO. Assuming we are able to get a LT or LB(DE) as well.
  7. We can connect the dots however we want to, but if they go full force guerilla marketing with this ... it will be hard to believe that this was soley driven by Matt Rhule, especially given the current state of his position at the franchise. "The Brand" is just too common
  8. right ... the Franchise is too young. However, if they focus on fans in their teens ... when they get 30+ its an established franchise in the league. So that means more stickiness and more appeal. Also, more connections to share their fandom, and grow "the brand" ... seriously didnt mean to work that in, just organically fit, ha.

  10. In all honesty, if we have a stellar raft, and land someone like Howell... I am all for acquiring Jimmmy G for a year. We dont have a veteran that any rook could learn from. Both Baker and Jimmy arent going to go for any picks higher than a future 3rd.
  11. It's also what the WFT team used as their theme last year. It's not that it is tied to Rhule, its just common. If you were asked about "The Brand" 6-10 years ago, most would have replied "Jordan." "The Brand" is very common in sports, which is probably another reason why they chose this.... its possible it tested well
  12. Depends on their persona types, my assumption it would be: Youth:: 5-13 Young : 13-22 Young Adult :22-31 Adult: 32-44 Senior: 44+ I agree with the statement you shared that I bolded. It's harder to lose an existing fan than it is to gain new fans. Path of least resistance here.
  13. Im sure that could have been the birth of the idea, but it's not driven by Tepper. Im sure he is a stakeholder, and final signoff. However, he isnt close to this.
  14. That could be the point as well, if it is marketing for potential players to want to play here, then they will use a slogan or pitch that attracts them. We dont know how they tested it, but I personally do know they tested it. Which means it was validated in some way to help them achieve whatever goal they are after with this marketing campaign.
  15. it's possible that it isnt for us, haha. It's potentially for a younger audience. They already have us "old folks" hoooked. I mean poo, most of us have been fans for decades. They arent worried about losing us. They may lose a few, but they wont lose the many of their existing fan base.
  16. They user test the current slogan and establish persona types they are attempting to bring into the stadium and fandom. It's very likely that the Panthers (along with many other teams in the league) want to appeal to a younger audience. You then create a longer runway for customer stickiness to your product. If you attract young fans, then you have fans for 25+ years.
  17. maybe bc there is more to be designed and unveiled before going outward with marketing. You always start internally before going outward facing. I work in digital marketing, so I am not pulling poo out of my ass on this one. It's very possible this could be the begining of the franchise rebrand. That would include, new logo, new uniforms, new slogans, etc. "The Brand" could be the core principle that they will design everything around. Im just guessing here of course, bc the only insight I have is the results from the user testing we did for Tepper Sports.

  20. i must have missed it in this thread, its 25 pages long... so pardon my oversight. I am just curious if you had an example of Tepper being petty. It would be interesting to read about how he is perceived as a petty person.
  21. So draft a LT and go into the season with Darnold? Or draft a LT and trade future pick for Howell?
