Can someone help me understand what this means: ESPN's Mike Reiss reports the number of "no-chance" plays have been "notable" so far in Patriots camp. "It's not that there haven't been successful plays, but the lack of consistency and frequency of 'no-chance' plays has also been notable from the media tent," was Reiss' complete observation. Well alright then. Coach Bill Belichick has praised Mac Jones' "dramatic" improvement, but he has also put former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia in charge of calling plays. It is fair to wonder how the Pats' play design might be post-Josh McDaniels. There is also a deep skill corps but one lacking in true playmakers. Perhaps this is just a case of the Pats' defense playing really, really well in the early days of camp, but there is off-the-rails potential here. does this mean the plays failed right out of the huddle?

I see Sam to the Rams possibly in the near future...

Darnold is available McVay.... better mechanics than Goff and more athletic. -
lol. Thats funny.

Personally, I think the Colts have been so run heavy due to their limitations at QB... I expect them this year to attempt to air it out a bit more. Jonathan Taylor isnt known to be a receving back , but Hines is. Healthy CMC over JT all day, but thats the tough part.

Could explain your reasoning to why you think the WR corp for those teams are better than ours?
-
I put him at guard. However, I am not James Campen and I’m not sitting in at practice nor watching film. So my opinion comes from armchair coaching perspective and I understand that.
-
He has been working closely with Bozeman. It’s possible christenson is making it harder than they thought to flat out put Ickey at LT 1. Also, as Mr scot shared, sounds like Ickey has struggled a bit.
-
If he is getting guard reps then as I said above … I agree with you. i just haven’t seen any footage or a beat writer say that he has undeniably been taking reps at guard. What you have provided is probably the closest thing I have seen to such.

I Wonder if there will be a fan there tomorrow that will ask Sam: “how does it feel to be third string this year?”
-
He knows the playbook better bc he has the been in the system longer - ESPN Idiot

He isn’t learning two positions … at least from what I’ve been following. I haven’t seen anything about Ickey playing guard, but if you have something sharing that then… I agree. Sounds like to me Bozeman and Ickey have always been on the field together until today. Someone mentioned in the main practice thread that this was intentional for them to build a relationship on the line.

He is getting reps there…
-
Are you suggesting we play Ickey at guard with that statement? He will be the LT week 1. Not sure why there would be any doubt by anyone here.
-
Difference is that those teams don’t have much option along their oline. Luckily for us, we do.. for once. also, I thought icky was splitting his reps with the 1s and 2s….?

I’d wait for the results of the testing and concussion rates before knocking them. Any progress toward player safety is better than nothing

Perfect gif.

I used to go to slate with Andrew Norwell while he was here in Charlotte. My buddy Justin was the third string QB at OSU and that’s how I met him. Andrew was an animal off the field as well, haha. I don’t think the guy holding the camera was the person who asked the question. From my understanding the person who asked the question fleed. I could be wrong though.

Different conversation and wrong interpretation. If you want to talk about that subject again… which I thought we ended it by agreeing to disagree… then use that other thread. I’m just asking an honest question on if franchises use people to go scout their competition via internet leaks of practice footage.

I really wish the fans could choose their beat reporters. He was in an interview w/ Keyshawn on his ESPN pod cast, and basically said that baker was struggling and was only going to be the starter bc of the trade and not his performance.
-
It’s not the play they are observing, it’s route combinations, personnel alignment and pre snap movement. I’m referring to people recording the practices not napkin sketches. for instance, the patriots have a strict no camera policy at their facilities. In this league it’s always about having that one extra inch of advantage.

It’s almost like there is a plan… and we are impatient to let it play out

I wonder if opposing teams have “analysts” that scour the internet for this stuff. Basically taking this time period where practice is open and people can see installations being implemented. This is free intel for other teams in the league
