  1. i mean in the grand scheme of things Miles is getting paid dimes... its barely 6 million per year and he only got 13 million gauranteed. It's really not a pressing issue for the franchise or team. The opportunity costs are minimal.
  2. I still blame the NFLPA for not acting sooner. It’s so bad they waited until Aaron Rodgers got hurt.
  3. I thought he played alright. When reviewing the tape he only had one run that he hit the wrong hole. A couple short yardage runs were killed due to us using Laviska as a lead blocker…. Not something we should continue to do. Laviska legit avoided a linebacker on one play and went to the safety instead, hahah. Miles could have had a 10+ yard run if Laviska chose to hit the linebacker… I think I have the video randomly posted in my all-22 requests thread as a “test video”
  4. I think fields hate comes from The people on this board constantly using horns injuries as the reason us taking not taking fields was dumb and set the franchise back. we didn’t take a qb that draft, and its looking like that it wasn’t a bad call to avoid a qb. However, we will seee.
  5. Man, I can barely remember the name of the coffee shop I go to weeekly …damn for sure not going to remember the name of a show I watch about 10-15x per year
  6. Well if he gets elevated quickly to the game day roster, then it’s fair to say the miles sanders third down back experiment won’t last long
  7. I mean what’s wrong with that? Isnt that just the circle of life for a fan? I feel like I’ve seen 100s of parodies of people being like “this is our year” when they are a fan of an all time horrible team. It’s just the nature of beast. As on record, I didn’t think we’d beat the falcons. However, I really hoped we would and woke up Sunday morning feeling like it could happen. then bummed when we lost. Now im excited about playing the saints at home on national tv. That’s the life of a fan.
  8. We literally had Curtis Samuel, DJ Moore, and Robby Anderson only 3 years ago. Then we attempted to replace Samuel with TMJ to avoid spending money on Samuel. We drafted Mingo this year and signed Thielen + Chark. This team has taken 4 shots on receivers in less than two years, haha. just bc you don’t like the results doesn’t mean you can say the team hasn’t tried. add: I forgot Laviska shenault as well
  9. Yeah he did hurry through his reads... Slightly concerning but not something to become frantic about. I think the big thing was that it looked like Bryce never locked in on a particuliar receiver in play to play, and it kind of feels like he should have. Thielen was eating on Sunday.
  10. sorry for the random ass video at the begining - my edit timer ran out on me so I am unable to fix it.
  11. Welcome to the kickoff of the All-22 Review for the Carolina Panthers 2023 Season I was able to sit down and watch every single play about 4-5 times each angle and put together a brief write up for everyone on the huddle to be able to digest. I also have included some videos of certain plays that I felt was worth the time to view as well. I am looking forward to everyone's comments and feedback on this as I will continue to do this throughout the year (except for the next two weeks due to being on my Honeymoon). With that, let's get week 1 started! I will admit that I started out really excited about this one, but as each quarter went by my excitement waned because I saw things that we didnt get to see during the live broadcast on Sunday. This was a tough one because we all want to see our new regimen, new players, and new QB succeed and be the best, but in this instance we definitely have some ways to go as a team. 45160969_TrembleopenovermiddlemissedQ4-MadewithClipchamp.mp4 Quick Hits Falcons had Bates playing the “Robber” majority of the game. Robber is when the deep safety plays the middle third instead of the deep third. I’m wondering if our offensive staff caught onto this. There were a lot of throws available over the top. Jessie Bates is a monster. He was involved in pretty much every play and the Falcons defense are going to be tied to his success. The theme of the game was pretty much Bates vs Bryce. Bates won. Hats off to him. Chinn is our third linebacker. We put him in the box often. Even when the Falcons brought in an extra receiver we kept Chinn close to the LOS. Both Chinn and Jackson were solid in coverage, neither of them gave up any meaningful catches. It was pretty impressive to see. For Bryce Young it was a tale of two halves. The first half was very promising and exciting and easily could give him a 7/10 grade. However, the 2nd half will definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth, and even the dedicated fans will realize he has plenty of room to grow. Second half: 3/10 Our defensive scheme had very little repetitive tendencies, players were lined up all over the formation. It was awesome to see that we kept the falcons confused with our defensive adjustments and alignment. Luvu and Shaq deserve a lot of credit. The both of them were involved in every play and caused a lot of plays for the Falcons to go off script. Our run defense is not going to be a problem compared to the years past. Formations I saw on D : 3-3 , 2-4-5 , 4-4 , & Big Nickel Although they had some missed tackles - Shaq and Luvu were always involved in plays. It’s definitely not a motor issue. They were all around the ball and disrupted a lot of plays for the Falcons. Consistency was not an issue from those two. ATL first TD… just bad tackling, solid defensive play call though. We had player's in the right position and multiple opportunties to stop the play behind the LOS. Just need to execute better. AJ Terrell is very handsy, and I am very surprised we did not have a few DPI’s and Defensive Holding calls against him A healthy Horn is just unreal - Ridder wouldn’t even dare look Horn’s direction. You could tell that Pitts and London were frustrated when Horn was lined up across them. We really need Horn to be healthy and stay healthy. Horn’s injury looked very much to be due to the turf monster Outside of the 4th and 1 - our offensive run scheme is pretty impressive. Lots of movement, misdirection, pulling lineman, and complex blocking schemes. I am excited to see what the run game will become once they open the playbook. Running to the left side will be a strength for us this year. Mingo played the deep route specialist on Sunday and he didn't do too bad. He does have some fine tuning to do with his mid depth route running. His ability to get off of the line and beat the press is very impressive for a rookie. Very proud of our offensive line, it also helped that we were mixing our playing calling to get the pressure off of them.. Until the end of the game of course Watching Bryce navigate the pre-snap process is veteran like Looks like we ran a few pre-designed plays .. interesting to see Miles Sanders does a lot that he probably won’t get credit for… on two plays in the first half he ran distraction routes at 100% taking a safety and a linebacker out of a play completely. The Miles Sanders fumble was a tough one, he was hot on the drive. He had multiple touches over 5-6 yards. You know he hated that. The scoring drive was a thing of beauty - the team was magnificient on that drive and the series of playcalling was very impressive. Falcons were caught off balance the entire drive. Bryce to Thielen has to start to happen. A few big throws to Thielen were left on the field. Highlights/Lowlights Awesome jump cut by Miles to find the hole and create a solid gain for a first down. This is a glimpse of what he is able to bring to the offense. Miles Sanders - Jump cut Q1 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Bryce Young leaves his read to Adam Thielen just a half second too early.. This could have been an easy pitch and catch for about 5 yards. However, a silver lining is that once he moves out of the pocket to create an extended play he sees Hayden across the middle but just can’t put the accuracy needed on it.. If he does… It's a big game. Lots of ifs… but it is worth noticing Bryce Young Leave Read too Early Q1 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 One of a handful of deep shots missed by Bryce. He is able to extend the play with his legs and create an opportunity to find a receiver open, and some will argue he wisely dumps it off.. But Bates leaves Thielen and Bryce has an easy 6 if he sees it. Bryce Extend Play Misses Thielen Deep Q1 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Excellent read and throw by Bryce to Mingo. Bryce knows that he is going to the left side of the field from the get go. What you notice in this play is that he waits until the linebacker on Hurst turns his back before he delivers an excellent out route to Mingo, trusting that he would beat his man. Ball was out before Mingo finished his cut. I can’t stress how ridiculous this is for a rookie to be able to do Bryce Great Read and throw to Mingo Q1 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 It does appear that TMJ and Bryce need more time together - TMJ is open but often it appears the timing was off between him and Bryce. You can tell on this play that TMJ was looking for the ball over the top and had his man beat for it, but Bryce wanted the back shoulder. Bryce miss to TMJ Q2 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Another missed opportunity with a wide open Thielen. You could argue the pressure in Bryce’s face led him to take the dump off, but Thielen is wide open in the middle of the field on this one. It appears Mingo was the go to here on this play. Also, for those doubting Bryce’s arm strength….this is a good example of the zip he can get on the ball… even after i slowed it down for you all by 25% Bryce Young missed opportunity Thielen Q3 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 This play wont make many people happy….. Bryce has two people wide open, but I can not speak from experience on how hard those throws are to make when sprinting full speed with someone chasing me. It is also possible that Bryce was already committed to running for 16 yards. Bryce scamble two recivers open Q3 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 This play does not result in much, but I want you all to focus on Mingo here… absolutely destroys his man off the line… only downside… Bates was waiting for him on the rest of the route Mingo beats press at LOS Q3 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Bryce’s 2nd INT…. do yourself a favor don’t look at Mingo here… As for the throw, the decision isn’t a bad one… it is the placement of the ball. I think Bryce just rushes this throw … he has TMJ for a second but the ball is just a second too late and too far inside. If you want to go throw mechanics, Bryce’s hips are pointing wide, which plays a role in why the ball goes more toward the hashes as opposed to TMJ. It is a bummer, but Bryce is a rookie… don’t do it again Bryce! Bryce INT2 Q3 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 This is an interesting one to watch. You can see that Bell and Henderson are not on the same page here and this leads to a conversion for the Falcons. Based on the body language, Henderson is to blame here. Exchange between Bell & Henderson Q3 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Shaq got a lot of flack for the 2nd Falcons TD , but this is no way his fault. He shoots the right gap and the play is all but shut down. It was a great job by Allgeir to stay on his feet and bounce to the outside. If we have to absolutely blame someone here, it would be Burns for not maintaining the outside. Falcons 2nd TD 3Q - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Looks like Bryce did have some mental miscues in the 4th quarter. He appears to avoid throwing to the middle here. I am not sure why, maybe he is rushing his reads or the pocket just getting too hot. However, he misses a wide Ian for about 15 yards. Still goes for a first down with a dump off to Miles. Bryce missed opp Ian Thomas Q4 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 The 2nd half was bad for Bryce, there is no way to make this pretty. Here is the infamous TMJ route that he slows up on… However, look at Adam Thielen before and after the pass is thrown… The only redeeming quality here is that the ball is super accurate if TMJ doesn’t slow up. Bryce TMJ Slows down Q4 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 You all are not going to be happy about this… the penalty flag that was thrown for us “blocking out of bounds' ' which is the same play we got horse collar tackle… appears to be a bogus flag. Troy Hill is grabbed and brought out of bounds after he handles the gunner. The gunner never lets Hill disengage. Punt Penalty Q4 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 The deep ball that was missed to Mingo was on Bryce… just not enough air. It’s definitely a tale of two halves for Bryce and our offense. Bryce Young missed deep ball Q4 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 The next play missed an opportunity with Hurst in the middle of the field. He has his man beat but I believe Bryce pre-determined where he wanted to go with the ball Bryce Young missed opp Hurst across the middle - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 4th quarter was just a bad quarter for Bryce, you can tell he was in his own head. Here is another missed opportunity across the middle to TMJ Brycew Young missed TMJ over the middle Q4 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Thielen is most likely spending the week in Bryce’s ear. Thielen should have over 100 yards on Sunday and potentially 2 TDs… you be the judge Bryce misses Thielen deep middle Q4 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 Another missed opportunity over the middle to Tremble. It appears at this point in the game Bruce had already made his mind up on where he was going with the ball pre-snap. Tremble open over middle missed Q4 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 All in all there is a lot to be excited about, but there are also some pieces we will now probably hyper focus on as fans. The one piece I'd like to share with the huddle is that if we have seen these issues, so has the coaching staff. You can bet your ass that they are going to be coaching up our players big time this week on some of these pieces that we need to work on. If everything we have heard about Bryce is true.... Then you can only assume he will be like Kuechly and studying the poo out of this stuff. I think the biggest call out is that you really saw Bryce deviate from his comfort zone in the second half. It is possible that the Falcons got into his head, or he got into his own head as well. If we see Bryce improve this week on some of these particuliars I shared, then we got a damn good QB. Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback.
  12. Bates going to Atlanta was pretty much a lock before Free Agency even started. I don't even think Bates talked to any other team. He was one of the the first FAs to "pre-sign"
  13. its bad man. I have some All-22 stuff coming. Im a bit deflated at the moment, but I have to give Bryce a bit of a leash since he is a rookie. However, it's Darnold bad.
  14. I just wrapped up my All-22 review, and I have some unfortunate news. It wasnt the playcalling.... It was Bryce. Tale of two halves, and the 2nd halve is bad....
  15. you'll see in the footage... the recivers just arent open. Evero is legit. We run so many different schemes its wild. I havent seen this type of defense since McDermott was here.
  16. Both on Bryce. Bates made an amazing read on the first one, but a QB like Mahomes sees the route at the top. Here is the video.. ill have my commentary in the bigger thread once d Bryce Young 1st INT Q1 - Made with Clipchamp.mp4 one.
  17. going through all22 now, and I will tell you Donte is not an issue on our D. I havent seen him allow a completion and I am halfway through the 3rd quarter
  18. uhh... oline isnt their issue... fields was only pressured 4 times against the packers, and was never hit or hurried. His sacks were from him trying to scramble and not getting back to LOS.
  19. omg...... first falcons play of the game when we tip the pass.... it was a pick 6........ fug
  20. Last Call... starting my research at noon est. Here is an example of the content type: Bryce Young avoiding a hospital pass.... kid sees the linebacker in the middle of the field and avoids getting his WR killed. 474526370_BryceYoungavoidshosptialpass.mp4
  21. The kernel in this instance is that Tua does not have top-end arm strength. That means he can't generate the same velocity on his throws that some other quarterbacks can (Mahomes, Herbert, Allen etc...). He probably possesses somewhere between NFL average and bottom-third arm strength I agree with you @hepcat just many others across the league do not.
