  1. ascending or descending is the real question...
  2. this line from the article makes me think no.... Still, on a per-pass level, Mayfield's 2.46 percent passes batted down mark is the second-highest rate in the league among the 30 quarterbacks that have attempted at least 1,000 passes since 2018. The only quarterback with a higher percentage over that span is 6'5" Cam Newton at 2.56 percent. In terms of most passes batted down per game, Mayfield's 1.04 average is the fifth highest since 2018 behind Minnesota's Kirk Cousins (6'3"), Ryan and Arizona's Kyler Murray (5'10").
  3. I had a 3 hour call where I had about 5min of actual involvement.
  4. It appears he is saying that the only score that matters is the end of the 4th quarter score.
  5. thats different from our conversation started. We were talking about players knowing how to do the basics. No one will disagree that putting players in the best position to win the is the HC's job. If we stay to the root of our conversation, if your HC is teaching your players the basics... then that is a huge problem.
  6. I dont think you can blanket it like that. It really breaks down to: Postional Coaches: Coach players on their technique and their postion Coordinators: Come up with game plans and have positional coaches prep their players for the gameplan and critique technique coached by positional coaches Head Coach: Validate the game plan and hold coordinators accountable for the postional coaches managing the players outputs. This is the way all NFL franchises are run. NFL Coaches are more managers than they are coaches. Bill B spoke to this in an interview about 5-6 years ago and why its important that your staff is held accountable for the overall success of your program.
  7. Im not sure how a HC or DC could teach a player who has been playing football all of their lives how to tackle. It just seems like a pre-requisite coming to the NFL. But what I know?
  8. I disagree and I really dont think using a team's performance from last year should ever be a measuring stick for how they will perform the next year. ie Packers v Vikings ... last year 37-10 and this year 7-23.
  9. if his extra something is an additional eye to see the field, then maybe so. If not... he is still going to be Danny Dont See Dimes.
  10. well tackling is a basic part of the game, haha and we missed 17 of those. Maybe back to the basics is the right thing to do.
  11. Good point, but there a gigantic talent shelf compared to Giants and Ravens. Giants are in the process of rebuilding that D. However, I will not bash good coaching... bc that can turn the tides of the game.
  12. Seeing that there was some positive feedback from my deep dive of the Panthers offense from Sunday, I've elected to do the same of the Giants Offense and Defense. I am leveraging NFL+ All 22 to do this research. I will highlight some pieces that are worth noting and things we can watch for on Sunday. Giants Offense: The Giants are using Daniel Jones very similiar to how Daboll used Allen. I personally dont think DJ can hold up with this type of beating throughout the year Giants usd a lot of RPO in their offense, and QB keeper was a staple on Sunday Evan Neal at RT, woof.... he was getting destroyed on Sunday by the rush. A lot of pre-snap motion from the Giants attempting to create misidrection opportunities The Giants pass protection is defintely a weakness and I think Daboll knows this with his play designs Most of Daniel Jones passes were underneath and dump offs (the pressure can be partly to blame) Titans were running a 3-3-5 defense and a 2-4 ... when this formation was on the field ... Barkly ate Daniel Jones is a first read or bust type int his game against the Titans Daniel Jones also shows hesistance in his first read I cant stress how bad Evan Neal looked on a handful of plays at RT, especially against the speed rush Barkley had most of his success when coming out shotgun and the titans were running 2 down line man, 3 lbers 3 safeties. Very odd alignment for a defense. (Image attached) Daniel Jones loves to run if his first read isnt there Giants o-lineman were flagged a few times for holding should have been more Shallow to intermediate crossing routes seem to the be the primary design of the WR routes for the Giants The 60 yarder for SB was a solid play call and put the Titans in a situation where they lined up man while stacking the strong side of the field. The run went weakside. Also, Hooker took a very bad angle on barkley. There were only 3 Titan players on the weakside of the field. Right call at the right time. Titans asked their safeties play run support in in the RZ and the Giants ate that up but riunning 12 personnel Running behind Neal has proven to be unscucessful for the Giants The pass TD for Daniel Jones: The CB was more confused that Hendseron on his PI. Image Below. Giants Defense: Giants definitely sold out for the run on Sunday against the Titans. They constantly fielded at least 4 LBers majority of the time, sometimes 5. Giants kept 7 in the box at least every play against the Titans, it appears the Titans didnt adjust to this until the 2nd quarter Giants passing defense seemed to be mainly zone calls and with the LBers being on the field it created a lot of gaps Giants got away with a deep PI early in the game Titans passing game allowed the RBs to eat up the linebackers The Titans were able to leverage play action offense against the Giants due to them having so many LBers on the field and playing the run Giants down a couple of ends, and it was notiecable, not many pressures on Tannehill In obvious passing situations the Giants switched to a 3-3 front Giants defense definitely leans more to a zone scheme Giants RZ D showed well against the Titans early on When the Titans ran a spread offense they began to exploit the Giants defense a bit more consistently, I dont think the Giants want to find their D in a dime package It appears attacking the outside on run plays is the weakness for the giants Tannehill definitely struggled with accuracy issues and dropped balls - he was hitting the right targets but just couldnt finish Titans defintely tried to get too cute on offense, and shot themselves in the foot quite a bit Right side outside runs eat the Giants up, we need to make this a focal point Tannehill missed more open targets than Mayfield did Image below of the common formation that the Giants ran. If we catch the Giants running man, it will be a good situation for us I have a feeling we are going to see Ickey play like a top pick this weekend, huge change in talent scale from MG Recap: The Giants defense has a sub optimial pass rush They are weakest in man coverage RB consistently beats the LBs on pass coverage Titans and Tannehill are gonna struggle this year Danny Dimes prefers to run than read Saquan feasted the most on outside runs away from Evan Neal Giants special teams is a WEAKNESS Giants pass protection is also a weakness (5 sacks allowed and 6 hurries) Giants use a lot of pre-snap motion Keys to the game: Stack the box and pressure Danny Dimes Attack their zone defense gaps Take advantage of man to man situation especially with CMC/VIsk Run to the outside, specifically to the right Contain Contain Contain Thanks for reading. Feedback appreciated, and if this too much just tell me stop and I will discontinue these "series" Long SB run: Clueless CB:(He turns his back and plays sheperd a if his is coming back to ball) Common defensive formation:
  13. @Jeremy Igo posted it shortly after .... i think @ncfanposted it.
  14. We didn’t get the ball in the second half until the midway point of the 3rd quarter. Considering we scored 3 of our 4 drives in the 2nd half , I’d assume he is talking from that point. But who knows.
  15. Additional context … Rhule was sharing that he felt like the offense was shaking off the jitters in the second half and you could tell by their performance. Which led to the comment in the tweet. he also mentions if the team could have been like the whole game, we would be having a different conversation about the offense. He did admit we were bad out the gate on offense. Baker confirmed moments later.
  16. Bc we didn’t need to…. We didn’t run enough offensive plays to sit DJ or Robbie. Our offense only had 45 total plays. our longest drive was barely 5 minutes. There just wasn’t a point to sub out DJ or Robbie bc they were the best players at their position and were well rested due to the lack of play opportunities.
  17. Giants EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Thibodeaux suffered a sprained MCL in the preseason and was forced to miss Week 1. The team listed him as limited throughout the week heading into their opener, so getting the same status today as he did last Wednesday doesn't tell us much. We'll have to wait until later in the week to see if the No. 5 overall pick will make his debut in Week 2. I doubt he plays.
  18. He has over a decade of experience doesnt he? Plus he played in the NFL. I think he has more experience than McVay did before becoming the Rams HC. I could be wrong though....
  19. @Basbear @Mr. Scoti think if Rhule gets fired, the most suitable candidate is going to be Ken Dorsey. I really believe this franchise will go after him , if he is able to prove that the Bills offensive success wasnt Daboll.
  20. Google “bears head coach” you’ll thank me later
  21. All of the footage I watched from the All-22 Elfein had a very good game outside of his botched snaps. TBD if it was him or Baker. I couldnt find a play where Elf struggled on Sunday.
  22. Robbie (8) and Moore had 6 plenty of targets. They were the focal point in our passing offense, and that was evident. I think it really was just Baker rushing through his reads. Bc if he maintained on DJ (mainly the first read) for 1 second more, then I expect DJ to have 2-3 more passes sent his way. I also expect us to have at least 7 more points on the board as well.
