no. Bc you can obtain the #1 without the dead cap. What a silly statement, haha.

Seems like all of the speculation is coming from articles, media, and twitter posts. I havent seen any substantial information stating that is indeed happening. It's not my job to chase down the facts, but CMC being trading is more speculation than factual right now. As long as the Panthers stick to the compensation needing to be high, then Im fine with the direction this is going. I just dont want to get an alert on my phone that CMC was traded for a third and a fourth. Just woulndt be worth the dead cap.

prepping for that mid season IR allocation.

How many lanes do you think a single DT fills? Do you really think the DTs job... by their lonesome, is to eat up a hole and tackle the ball carrier?

I miss the old days where coaches could go on rants like this and not get ridiculed by the media and the internet.

they wont give us the Saints pick unless we strong arm them.

I read that the Eagles were a dark horse for CMC... they have the capital and assets...

Panthers "listening" on Shaq Thompson also
TheCasillas replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have no idea how we got here based on the original conversation I was having. But sure. I agree...? -

Giving CMC 12m a year puts them in the exact situation that I called out originally. They have to let a lot of talent walk to keep CMC at that rate. For a team that isnt lacking RB horsepower or isnt lacking a LB.... I dont see this being the move that gets them to the final dance. They need DB help pretty bad right now due to injuries.... thats where they would focus their resources. -

If they went in with the intention of cutting players they traded 1st, 3rd and 4th round picks for ... how does that look on management? -

sorry man. I should take a break from the huddle from the hours of 9-5, hahaha. -

they couldnt afford it. Haha. They are in the negatives next year. They would have to come to terms that they couldnt extend Ed Oliver, Matt Milano, Gabriel Davis, AJ espenesa, and Jordan Poyer. Thats a lot of talent to have to let walk.... -

I think it would be a late 3rd (pending on the team) or multiple picks. I dont see it being a single 4th or 5th. It wouldnt be worth it in return. Have to make the best of the dead cap we would get in return. -

Did we publicly announc we were trading burns or Moore? Last that I checked Panthers have been adamant that the only way they are trading CMC is for a haul. -

Shaq and Robbie are not fire sales.... they are dumping huge contracts and older players. -

thanks for calling that out. It was a typo on my side. I meant to put 12 million. I went back and corrected it. Thats a cheap contract for someone of his talent set. It's hard to find a decent pass covering linebacker in the NFL. If Shaq could catch, he would have 3 picks on the year and potentially 2 TDs, haha. -

I think bc he can be had for so cheap is why it would be a higher pick. It might end up being a 4th and a future 5th/6th. Shaq isnt a bad LB and would be an upgrade for teams looking to win it all this year. The reason he would potential get a higher pick is because we are eating a lot of dead cap in any trade. So you have to suppliment that with a pick. I think we would be eating around 9-11 million in dead cap. So you backfill that with a cheap player from a draft pick. The rule of offsetting balances would apply here. This is completely just an assumption and using contract trading logic for this scenario. -

woof... thats going to hurt in dead cap. However, we'd probably get a 3rd for Shaq. Just bc he isnt liked in this thread, doesnt mean he isnt worth it to the team that is trading for him. They would be getting a top 10-15 LB for 12 million for 1.5 seasons. Eagles need LB help... so I could see them calling. They have the draft capital to send out. -

Yeah, im jumping on the height train for QB as well. I have never really defended or accosted short QBs... I've only said I'd prefer prototype size at QB. I have drawn the line at 6'2 ... which was one reason why I was happy we drafted MC9 over the other options. No idea where MC9 will be talent wise at this point next year, but I was thankful he was the pick due to his height. Our next QB needs to be large, and thats why I am staying on the Will Levis hype-rail. We get the right coach... I really think we will not be looking for a QB for a long time. We shal see though...

I saw a tweet that Allen leads the league by a large margin since being drafted into the NFL. No knock on Allen, I was just calling out you'd be surprised who gets their passes batted at the line. Both good and bad QBs. I probably should have added that context but I was on a treadmill, ha

This entire message shows me that you have not watched any tape on Derrick Brown this year. Teams are LITERALLY running away from him.... you can go see that in the 3 weeks of research that I used my personal time to share with you all. 4th best DT in the league and you use the word "serviceable"

or Josh Allen who leads the league in batted balls.

Top 4 DT in the league you say?
