New OC and New offensive direction are the same thing. they come as a package deal. You get a head coach because you have a ridiculous core and a lot of draft capital. core: Horn Burns Chinn Brown Luvu Moore Ickey 8 picks in the upcoming draft. With 4 of them in the top 100. add a Qb and you have a young team with studs at all of the important positions.

Lots of overreactions here … “60th pick” … 49ers are a good football team but they aren’t going deep this year in the NFC. They are probably the 6th best team in the nfc at best. CMC helps but having a depleted dline, injured secondary and jimmy G doesn’t.

I agree. This was a back of house deal that was most likely instigated by CMC. many people will disagree, but getting that many picks for a single player is a solid haul. CMC is awesome but what we got in return for him is equally awesome. Especially with the direction the NFL is going away from single superstars to skill set depth.

Olsen jared allen taylor moton shipping out kelvin and getting 3rd and 7th are all trades that are top of mind we won, and won big.

Which running back is Taylor? My brain is drawing a blank. also, you don’t draft a rb in the first just to draft an RB in the first. RBs taken in the first are usually because they are a dynamic talent and can potentially change the offense.

That same post I shared that I would be alright if we got good compensation. However, if we got poo compensation, it wouldnt be worth it. The dead cap and dropping of an elite player who could support a young QB for late mid round picks is just a waste and short sighted.

this changes the context of our conversation though. I agree with getting another first round pick. You orginally quoted me when I said the trade wouldnt be worth the dead cap if we only got a 3rd and 4th round pick.

Thats no reason to trade CMC for dirt and eat dead cap. There is no rationale in that decision. If its a blwon season, then they would reduce CMC touches... and I have yet to see the defense win us a game with this offense we are fielding over the last 3 years.
