  1. The team is losing because no QB and a bad HC... fix those and we arent pointing fingers at players.
  2. Safety was valued by seahawks front office as a position that changes the game, they were wrong. The 2nd most important position in the NFL is the DE... right behind the QB. There is masssive amounts of data to support this. It's also why they are the second most expensive contracts across the league. Rams would be getting a hell of a deal for BB by offering 2 firsts mutiple drafts away.
  3. We had Phil Snow dropping burns into coverage on almost 40% of the snaps and people in this thread are stating he isnt good because he doesnt have sacks. That has nothing to do with burns output. He has been experimented in a difference defensive approach this year instead of putting him where he plays best.
  4. Almost 70% of the league doesnt hit on their first round picks.... especially if they are outside the top 8 picks in the draft. Its not imcompetence, its the field of talent drops off immenselt once you get into the mid first round. That's the point here. You take a great player like Burns... and then trade him in hopes that you hit when the odds arent in your favor. You go from a sure thing to a possibility. It's non sensical. Espeically if you have to wait two years before you find out.
  5. Paying for your best players is part of the NFL.. you dont want to be a farm team for the league. If you score on a player in the draft .... you keep them.
  6. It was ran by Gruden. He had the same contract as Rhule. Full control. Mayock was head of scouting for him.
  7. Burns is top 5 in the nfl against the run this year ... he is ascending. The guy is 24 and we are talking about him as if this is the end of growth. You are pulling the plug on what every tema wants.... a young player who is turning into an elite player on the field.
  8. I dont follow because CJ (3rd round pick), Donte (2nd roud pick) and YGM (2nd round pick) werent top 12 draft picks like Surtain and Parson. You'd be giving up a top end DE for 2 pick that have a chance to be in the top 12....and that chance is very low.
  9. Burns is on his way to have almost the same amount of sacks that Mack had his first 4 years in the NFL before he was traded... they arent that far amount stat wise as players.
  10. try again... this needs a grammar check. I honeslty dont know what you are asking or saying.
  11. what did those picks turn out to be for the Raiders? Bears traded away: 2019 first round (running back Josh Jacobs at No. 24 by Raiders) 2019 sixth round (cornerback Blessuan Austin at No. 196 by Jets) 2020 first round (cornerback Damon Arnette at No. 19 by Raiders) 2020 third round (receiver Bryan Edwards at No. 81 by Raiders)
  12. we are currently third in draft position, where are we going to move up to? Both teams ahead of us need a franchise QB.
  13. You are creating a hole by trading Burns, and staggering the years when you are able to fill it. Also, why would we need a first round pick to fill those suggested positions? I dont see a need to spend a first on a CB, RB, S, or WR.... Why spend a first on a DE when you already have one proven on the roster that is young?
  14. probably give him a Trubisky contract, maybe a Teddy contract.
  15. Im sure they will , as long as Waldron doesnt take him with him. There have been rumblings that if Waldron gets a HC job (which I think he will based on the amount of jobs there will be this coaching cycle) that he and Geno would be a package deal.
  16. But making a super bowl run this year doesnt matter in the context of this entire conversation. The picks are 2024 and 2025. This year Rams arent going to be more than an edge playoff team because they have lost almost their entire starting oline for the year. They still field a top5 defense and have excellent coaches on both sides of the ball. we are trying to hedge our bets, but there are more stats that favor the Rams winnning next year than losing. Their division turnover is already enough to put the Rams in favor.
  17. Yup.. No QB under contract next year. Proof: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/seattle-seahawks/cap/2023/
  18. The roster doesnt have enough holes for us to need those picks. We would be trading one great player for 2 unknown players. We have 15 picks between now and 2024 as it is. We dont have a need for more draft picks. We have a need for a QB , LB, WR and Dline depth.
  19. I am not saying that... Im saying you cant claim that the injury bug hits old age teams with certainty. There is no statistical evidence to support that.
  20. None of that is a convincing argument. You need more than that... that is just not how you make calculated decisions. Also, the last three patriots super bowl wins and the broncos win.... had those same tangibles you just described.
  21. 1. They are living in a win now mode.. which means the next 2 years.. therefore those picks are impacted by how they perform the next two years. They have everything they need to get back to the super bowl once healthy. If these picks were 2025 and 2026 like how they do in the NBA, then you can take what you saying as a strategy. 2. The injury bug hits any team at any point... there is no tendencies or patterns to injuries in the NFL. Baltimore, SF, Detroit, and Cleveland are the most injured teams in the NFL right now... they are not "old" teams. Matter of fact, its the opposite. they have average ages of 25, 25.1, 26.3, and 26.4
  22. All they have to do is get healthy on the oline and improve their pass rush. That is literally the only issue they are having this year. Stafford has been sacked 24x... Thats 3.3 sacks given up per game... Their defense is top 5 in both passing and rushing....
  23. There is more proof that they will succeed than fail next year. They will have the most continuity of any team in the NFL with their coaching staff and roster. This year they are ridden with the injury bug and dealing with the loss of Miller. 3-4 this year is competitive... have you looked at the standings? They are right in the middle of the pack competing for a playoff spot. Burns would be a strong contributor to helping them climb. McVay used the amazon deal to get his new coaching deal.
  24. haha okay... so what if none of this happens... and the Rams go back on a deep playoff run? Then we end up with pick 28-32....
