  1. well you are wrong. So maybe we adjust the conversation to something less speculative or just end it here? maybe?
  2. how in the world did my opinion on how picks get used insert it way into this debate? That a very situational question. For an ELITE QB, without hesitation. For an ELITE skills player... depends if have a QB....
  3. I was mainly replying to your statement: most of those picks don’t project as starters As I stated, 2nd and 3rd rounders are projected starters.
  4. Thats the thing though... its not a matter of what the picks turn into. Its the fact we got all of those picks. What the GM/FO chooses to do with those picks have nothing to do with the deal itself. If a new HC comes in and trades all of those picks for a single pick and flops and the team that received the picks get two great starters... was the CMC deal bad? or was the HC misuses of those resources bad?
  5. 2nd and 3rd rounders are projected starters in the league. If the inverse of the situation you are sharing, or even the half inverse of it and we get one player that makes an impact and the rest is depth... then the deal is a major win. That being said.....There is no losing in that deal in this situation, its just bad management of the resources aqcuired in a solid trade.
  6. I actually looked this up recently for another converastion on the huddle... even when players on the franchise tag hold ou to get traded... the trading team still gets paid hansdomely. The value doesnt go down bc a player wants to be traded. History shows that.
  7. Same with AJ Brown in philly.. but I just dont think the new ceiling for WRs is compatible with all WRs. There are elite receivers worth that, but good to great shouldnt be getting paid what Kirk is.
  8. I really hope this off-season for WRs was a fluke. Bc the market is stupid and they will become moveable assists instead of staples for franchises moving forward.
  9. Doesn’t us “valuing” him create leverage for us? Bc the franchise told the league we aren’t trading him bc we want him to be apart of the franchise? I just don’t see a situation where that is used against us. It really depends on how the guaranteed money is broken up. With as many picks we have this coming draft, I expect the FO to front load his contract, so we don’t have to deal with it down the road. Much like we did with DJ. im going to use how the current front office regimen structures contracts as examples And not our previous gms.
  10. Yeah, even if CMC gets back to his pre-injury form, it’s going to hard to say that we lost in this deal. What we got in return was pretty ridiculous.
  11. Thanks to the franchise tag, we will always have the leverage. Declining the trade does not provide any leverage to burns. I’m actually interested in how you think us not trading creates “leverage” for burns
  12. Woud it be a conflict of interests if Bezos bought the Commanders while owning Amazon and having an exclusive TV deal with the NFL? This feels like something that couldnt continue...
  13. I dont know what it is about the "NFL diet" but players put on massive muscle and weight when they join the league. It's pretty crazy.... If you look at Lamar Jackson for instance.... the guy was around 210 lbs at 6'2 when he was drafted, and now he is over 230lbs and its mass, not fat. I just dont use weight as a counter-productive stat when it comes to the NFL. NBA? different story..... Young's rookie year is going to be rough though, bc he wont be on that diet... yet.
  14. because weight you can change, height you can not...
  15. Interesting thought here.... Wanted to see the height for every starting QB in the NFL right now... So I did it for yal in case you are curious. Here's a look at all of the quarterbacks who are 6-foot-2 or shorter: Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals: 5-10 P.J. Walker, Carolina Panthers: 5-11 Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos: 5-11 Sam Ehlinger, Indianapolis Colts: 6-1 Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: 6-1 Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders: 6-1 Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: 6-1 (Gardner Minshew, Philadelphia Eagles: 6-1) Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins: 6-1 Andy Dalton, New Orleans Saints: 6-2rs: 6-2 Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers 6-2 Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints: 6-2 Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens: 6-2 Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys: 6-2 Zach Wilson, New York Jets: 6-2 Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay: 6-2 Here are all of the QBs who are 6-3 or taller: Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers: 6-6 Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars: 6-6 Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: 6-5 Daniel Jones, New York Giants: 6-5 Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 6-4 Jacoby Brissett, Cleveland Browns: 6-4 Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals: 6-4 Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: 6-4 Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons: 6-4 Davis Mills, Houston Texans: 6-4 Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans: 6-4 Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers: 6-3 Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks: 6-3 Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders: 6-3 Mac Jones, New England Patrios: 6-3 Matt Stafford, Los Angeles Rams: 6-3 Justin Fields, Chicago Bears: 6-3
  16. Wild stat.... the average height of the QB positon has gone down over the last ten years. In 2010 the average height for a QB in the NFL was almost 6'4. Now in 2022 we are at sub 6'3. Interesting to see the NFL begin to trend downward in height. Probably a meaningless stat, but it does reflect that teams are less likely to depend on height as a guiding statistic as they used to.
  17. I personally love to see it... but for Geno is defintely Waldron that has been the spark.... but for PJ... i dont know
  18. Ah thanks for the correction. For some reason I thought he was drafted in 2003. well deduct those four games and the above post still holds valid.
  19. You mean the game against the saints that he didn’t start due to injury and left early bc he re-aggravated it? if I’m not allowed to use that logic, then how about the fact that burns played 40% of our total snaps his rookie year and only started 5 games. Or that burns missed a game in 2020 due to injury? Julius peppers started and played every game for his four years and yet burns is on pace to meet or surpass what pep did his first four years….
