  1. That is refreshing to read. I wonder if Wilks turn around of the team helped with turning us into an desirable destination....
  2. Whats excludes the eagles, dolphins, and vikings from needing a competent and consistent head coach? Are their current coaches not compentent? Im confused. I dont think you are using the word context correctly or you are attempting to use it in this situation when it doesnt fit....
  3. Serious question.... what team doesnt share that same context?
  4. thanks for the clarification on the title. I can't go back and fix. However, my statement holds the same.
  5. She is the team president... of course she is going to be apart of the hiring process. It doesnt mean she is a key decision maker, she is just part of the process. She has been in role almost a year now.
  6. I trust DJ coming back from the injury. I am concerned about CJ and Keith though. As for Shaq, I think he returns on a heavily discounted contract. I agree with edge and I think we need a ball hawking safety. This is the way I see it: Horn, CB2, DJ ILB, Luvu, B. Smith, Shaq Burns, Edge, YGM, Barno Safety, Woods (maybe FA) Chinn somewhere in there. So 4 total players and I do expect a mix of FAs plus draft prospects. I wouldnt spend capital on another corner bc im afraid of a Horn injury. Too soon for that.
  7. A couple of questions: Why 2 corners? Why 2 OLBs? Is it 1 edge and still 2 OLBs?
  8. I'd say 4 players would do it. One player in each postional group. It's not like we are a void of talent. Just need some performing veterans in there.
  9. Not sure whats going on but when I hyperlink I get this:
  10. something is going on with the huddle... im getting an error when posting hyperlinks. it's the bears forum "chicago city sports"
  11. I would be too. I am simply stating that Bears fans know better than many of us on here. That piece about Poles and Eberflus... how many people have taken that into consideration in this thread as opposed to just stating that Fields "play good for a few weeks"
  12. the link is in that message. I hyperlinked it. However, here you go:
  13. How many wins though? Why do we compare stats instead of Sunday game winning QBs? https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/181915-so-which-qb-do-we-think-will-be-available-at-9/?do=findComment&comment=6043634
  14. How about 8+ page threads labeled Bryce Young Thread on the Chicago Bears forum, wouldnt that be an ideal place where this convo would take place? Surely you came across that when you were scouring. Majority of that thread is about the concern around Fields long term, and they could probably get more for Fields then they could trading down now. My favorite line in that thread: Never forget the Bears passed on Dan Marino twice in 1983 because they had their guy in Jim McMahon. The other piece they widely speak of is that fields is NOT Poles/Eberflus's guy... they came into the franchise with him in place already. They devoted a lot of resources this past offseason to help Fields develop more into a passer. They aren't seeing the ROI on that.
  15. That minority head coach stuff has to piss off minority head coaches. They keep getting categorized and compared against each other instead of the rest of the league. I really appreciate the way Todd Bowles spoke out about it the media, basically calling them the divisive ones.
  16. I trust their fan base over ours when it comes to fields. Our fandom of Fields is just in spite of Rhule, not bc we truly missed on the pick. We ignore data bc our emotions are tied to this team. We should be wanting Horn to become an all pro (which he most likely will) instead of curving data and skewing stats to make Fields look like an All Pro QB.
  17. There is no way you can compare the way Cam came into the league vs Fields. There is reason for doubt for Fields. Cam came in and dominated and never looked back.... until 2017....
  18. @top dawgI wasnt trying to convince anyone, I was stating observation. However if you are lookin for some convincing this could prove to be helpful. The convincing also lives on the Bears forum where fans are legit making an argument to draft Young and trade Fields. His own fan base sees it as it is. Most people here didnt have to watch Bears game and sit through the bad with Fields.... they only saw the highlight runs. Not the poor decision making and crumbling in the clutch.
  19. Fields had 17 passing TDs on the entire season, where does the 18 come from? If we are looking from a passer POV... Winston did have an excellent stretch last year where he had almost 10% of his passes go for a TD before he got injured. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/jamies-winston-2021-stats#:~:text=Jameis Winston had a passer,in 7 games in 2021. Jameis Winston had a passer rating of 102.8 with 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in 7 games in 2021.
  20. 4 HCs in the playoffs right now had zero HC experience prior to their jobs and 1 or less years as coordinators. This just isnt a rule when it comes to hiring. Johnson just did one of the hardest jobs in the NFL and nailed it.
  21. Brace is good and not crutches. Fingers crossed its a sprain.
  22. Over on the Bears message board they are a making a good case that the current regimen was not the regimen who drafted Fields. If they fall in love with Young or Stroud this draft season... Fields could be moved on from or turned in an Athlete Positional Player. Going to be interesting to see what they do. How about the Steelers getting the first pick of the 2nd round for Claypool? What a trade....
  23. Depends on if Chris Tabor is retained. I think Zane was a beast when it came to longer field goals.
  24. I cant go back and correct that, but my original statement should have been 2200* Thanks for the correction, I must have fat fingered that.
  25. So Fields has missed almost 25% of games each season? Why are you defending a QB missing that many games? Why do you think he is missing that many games? Bc he isnt capable of taking the hits of the NFL playing the football he is playing. The Bears know that Justin Fields isnt a capable passer so they dial up QB option runs... and run him into the ground. Non one said a QB shouldnt run... a fragile QB shouldnt run. Fields has experienced SIX different injuries since entering the NFL. Hip, Both shoulders, Knee, Ribs and a Concussion. Another bonus note about Fields, he has had 6 opportunities to have a game ending drive 5 of them ended in a Fields turnover. I dont get the defense of this guy by this board. Even the Bears messsage board is considering a QB #1 overall and shopping Fields... If he was a Panther majority of this board would be talking about pulling the plug on him.
