the playcalling for colorado the last two drives have been less than ideal
-
It really all came from what Tepper said on the sidelines from when we played the Lions at home. He said something like "we are watching a guy over there on the other sideline" and that was it. That carried the momentum for the love for Ben. Doesn't mean Tepper didnt love him, poo I wanted Ben...but was closely as excited with Frank and the super staff. Rookie HCs are always concerning... just like the draft.. it can be a crapshoot
-
It would have been interesting bc even with Reich not being in the picture .. it would have been Ben vs Wilks... and hiring Ben would have been the opposite of what Tepper said we were looking for in our next head coach. Basically, the offseason storylines would have been a poo show... from fans and media.

He was a hot coaching candidate last season... i dont think anything has changed. Prolly wont get as much money as he would have here... but he will fetch a nice paycheck. I mean the Lions made him the highest paid coaching assistant in the history of the NFL.... so i think it was win/win no matter what he elected to do last year.
-
My money is on Ben going to the Chargers.
-
that seems extremely likely. I just wonder if Poles is there next year ... bc that is something he would do.. However, entire house cleaning is on the table now for the bears and it's becoming inevitable each week that goes by.
-
I'd love to see Colorado win this one... that would be wild for the FBS
-
Qb1 will be top piority for the bears this offseason, but WR1 wont.. they will pull a texans and go O and D with their top picks.
-
id really like him to make some pocket plays and quick reads. He does a lot of dancing and moving around before he throws. When he was at Oklahoma he struggled badly with pocket passing.. they had to do a lot of out pocket movements and RPOs. He has the talent for sure.

every receiver is just wide open. It's wild. Has Colorado even gotten a pressure on Caleb?

Are the Panthers struggling to sell tickets?!?
TheCasillas replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Those are just automated marketing campaigns. Prolly just fed into their CRM and it does the rest. Id be shocked if every team doesn’t do this. Every consumer facing business does…. I get a few of these emails for the hurricanes, Orlando magic and Denver nuggets almost weekly -
It’s not a matter of their builds, it’s the complex run system that we deploy. When you bring in Mays and Zavala, you have to simplify your concepts. a perfect example is that both Zavala and mays have shown on plays that they struggle to engage then disengage and move to second level in the same timing as the rest of the line, TE and WRs. This then causes the RB to have to make the yardage on their own as opposed to creating the yardage for the back (see Eagles) run block schemes are not as simple as “just maul the guy in front of you” like they used to be. Week1 was a perfect example of some of the complex concepts we were running. This is the stuff that Thomas Brown brought over from the Rams.

Use a lead blocker, get the running game going
TheCasillas replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
We lost Brady… that was a huge blow to our oline. -
When we had a healthy Brady and Zavala we were leading the league in yards per carry and a top 5 rushing offense. then we lost Brad and it all went to poo. Coaching can only go so far when it comes to talent in the trenches
-
We are one of the worst run blocking teams in the league right now. Trying to evaluate our run game skill is misleading and pointless. This is like saying DJ Moore sucked last year

So is Marshall gonna do something Sunday?
TheCasillas replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Got you. Yeah, he had helmet on today and no red jersey. So that’s a good sign for him to be active on Sunday. He just has to pass protocol. I’d assume if he has no red jersey abs practiced today he should be good but the team could play it safe as well -
Someone prolly already said to is in the 14 pages of this thread… but the only terrifying thing about Stroud being a stud is how miserable this place will be … even if Bryce does great as well. Luckily, it Is really easy to ignore. I hope all quarterbacks from this class become legends

Today’s update sounded like Mingo was playing. Have you seen another update saying otherwise? -
It only takes one.

Nick Wright also said that Caleb Williams is prolly the 8th best QB on this planet… the rest of the panel were like “the dude hasn’t even stepped on the pro field yet” … then Nick ranted on about how right he was. Then someone called him out for being wrong about zack Wilson then the segment ended
-
They really are. Cowherd just came out and said that the Steelers should trade TJ Watt, George Pickens and throw in the towel on the season to land Caleb Williams.
-
Nick Wright also proceeded to name players that weren’t on our team and said that we had the worst oline in the league (prior to the injuries) nick wright is a fuging fool. Media is only trashing the team bc you have a bias. If you really that invested into the media, you should just type “jets” “raiders” “jags” “Vikings” “broncos” + “nfl” in YouTube. It’s a roller coaster of hilarity. No one really gives a poo about us and the narrative is all the same “no weapons” and “injuries” … nothing else

You are missing the point. Miles is not an overpay. If you look at % of cap… this year is the most expensive he will ever be because the cap yearly growth. You can’t bucket miles with Robby bc his contract is nothing like his bc of the TCV. if you want to propose miles contract is similar to what Robby’s was… we would have to sign 3 more Miles’s….
