  1. Agreed, I think it's pretty damn good.
  2. Indeed it is encouraging news, but idk about everyone "fearing the worst". Maybe I'm totally off, but when he jogged off the field and then they showed him walking back to the locker room later, (which they showed extensively) he didn't even have any sort of limp at all. No change to his gait from what I could see. Anyhow, great news!
  3. When they showed the replay and I saw it was clearly of the non-contact variety, I feared he tore his achilles. Not happy he apparently broke multiple bones in his foot, but I still say that's much better than a torn achilles.
  4. I feel like Thursday Night Football was the enemy last night. I would HATE TNF if I was a player. All so the league can make more money and players don't get enough time off in between games.
  5. Yeah, I don't think I'll waste my time sending a complaint to the league because as has already been said, they don't give a $hit. I usually don't complain about officiating because it is what it is....but even I was texting some of my buddies during the game about how atrocious the calls were. OP hit on the worst ones.
  6. That's fair when looking at the 2021 season thus far, but the article is very detailed and talks about our defense in 2020 as well. The underlying message here is more about how NFL defenses (like any facet of the game) need to evolve in order to counter what the other side of the ball is doing and how Snow seems to be ahead of the curve in that regard.
  7. I'm in agreement with most everything that has been said. One thing I will add to the specific comments about it being refreshing to see young players getting reps and playing time (which rarely seemed to happen under RR): Even though Rhule is more willing to give our young talent significant playing time vs. trotting out average vets, I love that it isn't an 'all or nothing' type of approach. To clarify further what I mean, he seems to evaluate each player individually and assess whether they are ready or not. That's the way it should work! It shouldn't be making decisions solely based off of philosophy (always play vets, always roll with the younger guy, etc.)
  8. Not defending CH or RF, but I mean it's just a case of being realistic imo. Rookie and a player who didn't through the off-season in our system. I wouldn't expect them to be hitting their ceilings yet. Of course they need to improve. Also, I'm not in the camp of people that think solid all around RB's are "a dime a dozen".
  9. We're not used to having the number of weapons this year's team has. I think that's all it is. Robby will make some big plays this year I'm sure!
  10. It's misguided to solely focus on sacks and try and nitpick based on that alone. That being said, it was a single game that we won.....HR and BB both acknowledged in their post game pressers that they left some sacks out there. They'll watch tape and work on finishing. Give some credit to Wilson too.
  11. Headshot mix-up aside, looking at his projected stats, I'm really hoping DJ is able to hit pay dirt more than 4-5 times this season
  12. Well said. That sums it up pretty good and I'm not really seeing how anyone can argue that logical train of thought....but it is the huddle after all
  13. Not that I'm shocked by it after being around this board for years, but damn man, it never ceases to amaze me how bent out of shape some people get based off a preseason game! I don't know if Sam will end up being the answer @ QB or not, so this isn't a defend Sam post. With that being said, not every team in the league had/will have a joint practice with another NFL team during preseason. The Panthers have had two back to back (against two playoff teams from a year ago). Only like 6 other teams had/will have multiple joint practices and several teams had/will have zero. Maybe some will say that doesn't matter, but I'd disagree. We must have a lot of tape against legit competition from those joint sessions. Now if Sam doesn't get a lot of run against the Steelers either, then I'll start to worry more because Rhule has said the 3rd and final preseason game will be treated like the most legit dress rehearsal. I will say that not bringing in some better competition at QB for Sam to battle it out with was probably a legit mistake. I can't argue against that. Also, Slye does need to go. Too inconsistent.
  14. Major injuries during preseason and practice are the worst. Hate to see that for anyone. I'm always holding my breath this time of year that news doesn't come down that a Panther has suffered a season ending injury.
  15. Was thinking the same thing. We just got used to 6'5'' QB's for a hot minute I guess, haha
  16. Maybe he wasn't "elite" by predefined stereotypical NFL QB standards (centered around passing), but he was elite in his own way no doubt. Can't deny he wasn't the most accurate thrower when you examine the numbers or watch tape, but I think a lot of that can be attributed to what the organization was asking him to do for so many years (playing behind mediocre OL's, being forced to throw the ball into tight windows, not providing him with the full range of weapons he needed etc.)
