CJ stroud post game interview after Michigan loss
NYPantherFan replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. This is why I thought they would make a serious effort to sign Carr. -
Fitterer told him it was an escape room
-
Or they locked him in the utility closet the JR statue is hidden in and won't let him leave without a deal.

I just want to see Barno eat as a 3-4 edge player.
-
Sounds a lot like McCowns take on Stroud after watching his film breakdown. McCown kept referencing Strouds ability to distribute the ball with accuracy.

So then, we’ve got a WR corps to build. What do y’all got?

Rumors here in Bills Country are that they may be shopping Gabe Davis for a mid-round pick. I'd take a chance on him -
Vikings to release WR Adam Thielen

I'd rather trade Buffalo a mid round pick for Gabe Davis -
Is Lombardi usually reliable with info? I'm not buying it. The way Fitt still talks about Darnold leads me to think there is interest in him in a vet/bridge type signing. As for Corral, I think it's way too early to give up on him. He had zero coaching and got hurt last year. He's essentially a rookie again this season. No idea what we have in him until he's gets out there with this staff. I don't know if he can be a franchise QB, but a solid backup for sure.
-
Isn't he originally from Ohio and a Browns fan? I wonder if he finds his way back home.

Given our cap issues for this year, I can't see it. We would likely need to send Donte Jackson to somewhat even out the cap hits

The goofiest cornball coach in the NFL?
NYPantherFan replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
You sure thats not sn episode of Impractical Jokers? "Murr, dress as Pee Wee Herman and go coach the Arizona Cardinals" -
I wouldn't mind Tepper paying a bit extra for Evero. Basically paying for draft picks we would get when Evero eventually becomes a HC elsewhere.

Roman Harper thinks Sean Payton could be our next HC now
NYPantherFan replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Listening to Paytons interview from the other day, there was a moment where he was elaborating on what the trade compensation would be where he goes out of his way to mention "if the pick goes into next year...". He was definitely talking about Carolina and knee they aren't going to give up this years 1st for him. Next years 1st and a 4th seems on par for what he was getting at.. -
He had the Bucs offense rolling his last 2 years there. Then Browns brought him in and basically didn't use him.

Panthers receive permission to interview Sean Payton
NYPantherFan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Curious to know if the trade compensation was agreed upon to grant the interview. Isn't that what they originally reported with the Broncos? -
He also played with Dorsey and Manuel at Miami, not to mention was Director of Player Personnel in Buffalo while Dorsey was QB Coach....
-
Only link I can find between the HC candidates and Manuel is Ken Dorsey. They played together at Miami for 3 seasons.
-
I'm curious who Dorsey would bring in as his OC. Maybe Joe Brady? Kafka was a guy I wanted Panthers to look at as OC last off-season, but I don't think he's ready for the HC gig yet. I feel like Reich/Caldwell are more of OC candidates to pair with Wilks than true HC candidates.
-
Wilks has had to put feelers out to other coaches during the last feel weeks, right? I mean if not for here, he's bound to get interviews elsewhere now. Jim Caldwell is someone I thought could be an interesting OC pairing with Wilks even before news of him interviewing for the HC came out. I wonder if Wilks may have floated the name to Tepper and they are interviewing him as "HC" just to see if his ideas gel with what Tepper/Wilks want to do.

STEVE WILKS - FINAL POLL THREAD
NYPantherFan replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
In terms of building a culture, I feel Wilks is who Tepper thought he was getting when he hired Rhule. That said, Wilks like Rhule needs a strong supporting cast around him to be a difference maker. The defense regressed after he took over and that was supposed to be his strong suit. I'd really need to know what his plan is at OC and DC before being fully on board with him coming back. -
Disappointing player of the year award?
NYPantherFan replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rashard Higgins - here is a guy we kept hearing about all training camp making plays and his connection with Mayfield. Yet we're in the last week of the regular season and he's appeared in 3 games and hasn't recorded a stat. I thought for sure he would have been a decent #3 or 4 WR when the season started.- 67 replies

Rapoport and Pelissero talk head coach openings
NYPantherFan replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
The guy is the highest paid college assistant in the country at 2M per year. OCs in the NFL are usually less than that. It would probably take a pay raise to get him to leave Georgia to be Wilks OC. Apparently you are forgetting the 3 seasons he spent in Tampa as the OC where he put together a top 5 offense in 2017 and 2018. The 2018 season alone got him some HC interviews before he ended up in Cleveland and Freddie Kitchens gave him no role.
