He was making some noise with the Dolphins prior to his injury last season. Definitely worth a look at in camp.

Does the Canales era have a new vibe?

The way his eyes get extremely wide open when he focuses on someone talking to him would creep me out in person. -
How accurate is Madden for coaches?
NYPantherFan replied to BrisbanePanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I had read awhile back that some players use Madden to learn the playbook, especially rookies. I'm surprised teams don't have some intern going into Madden and creating a custom playbook of plays that resemble what they are going to run and have players use it. The generic playbooks are probably more accurate for teams that have had coaches in place for awhile rather than new coaches. -
I think he may go Day 2. From the sounds of it, he really impressed at his Pro-Day. I think a lot of teams are circling him as the late QB that has the best chance at becoming a starter in this league.
-
Do I think they should sign him? Absolutely not. But... he's pretty close with Canales so I could see some interest coming here he could arguably win the starting job (not that Panthers want a competition). Might be a good mentor for Young at the very least.

Any idea of what Young is doing in the offseason to improve?

Hopefully meeting with Jordan to develop a cleat that adds 3-5 inches to his height. -

He doesn't even have the bubble to hold them in anymore. -
I don't know if it will be Canales. I feel like Tepper would turn down a good candidate if it means giving a division rival draft picks. I have a feeling it will be Evero.

Halaby gives me a bad vibe. He looks like a Daniel Tosh/Andrew Garfield love child that would get us caught up in some sort of investigation with the NFL at some point in his tenure here.
-
He was also the guy in the room telling Fitterer to be patient when it came to drafting DJ Johnson yet Fitterer decided to jump the gun and trade up for him. I think he was probably one of the only voices of reason in the front office which might be why he's the favorite.

Joe should be getting more HC interviews to be honest. He will be the Johnson/Slowik of next year's cycle
-
Is there any speculation who Mike Macdonald may bring along as OC if he lands a HC job? My concern with him is that he really only has ties to Greg Roman, and I'm not sure we would want that here. Not that I want him back in Carolina as an OC, but maybe brining back Ken Dorsey as a QB coach/Passing game coordinator would help Bryce Young. He worked wonders for Cam and Josh Allen and Tepper thought high enough of him last cycle to give him a HC interview.

This franchise is void of any sort of culture at the moment. They need a "leader of men" type to build that here. For whatever reason, you tend to only get those types of coaches when they come from the defensive side of the ball. This franchise had had its most success with that model - Capers, Fox, Rivera. I'd like to see them go that direction and find a bright mind to run the offensive side of the ball.

Macdonald is slowly becoming one of my favorite candidates. It's between him and Slowik for me, assuming Ben Johnson heads to Washington and we don't show interest in Vrabel.
-
His name was gaining traction around the league before he joined the staff here. I wouldn't hate the move and he seems to be more on the player evaluation side versus the analytic type guys that have been announced so far. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they give him the job and one of the candidates being interviewed wind up as an assistant to pair with him. Kind of like how we ended up with Evero on staff after an impressive interview as HC.
-
I'm surprised they haven't developed cleats for BY that add 3-5 inches to his height.
-
He was a minority candidate who had shown some upside and was starting to generate buzz around the NFL. I'm convinced Tepper went with 2 minority candidates at coordinator because he thought one, if not both, would do well enough tonget a HC job this cycle and earn some comp picks.

Honorable Mentions- Meet the Candidate- Bonus Round
NYPantherFan replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not saying it will happen, but I have a feeling Joe Brady is going to end up with more interviews this cycle after the turnaround he's orchestrated in Buffalo. He's going to make that Ben Johnson like jump we saw last year. Wonder if Tepper would be interested in bringing him back. -
Bobby Slowik- Meet the Candidate- Part 4 of 12
NYPantherFan replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Slowik gives us the best shot at landing Adam Peters for the GM/Football Ops role given their history together in San Francisco. For that reason alone, I'm all in on him. -
It should be franchise policy from here on out that any 1st round pick traded is protected if it's a top 3 pick.
