Players hoping to help Wilks win the full time job
KillaCamNewton replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like Wilks but the idea that any players on this team think they have any leg to stand on campaigning for a coach is hilarious. This is not the 2001 Miami Hurricanes where they had a championship team and needed to keep a coach here so that he wouldnt get in the way -
One of the only things im excited about this season is getting to see what Chinn looks like with Wilks/Holcomb in charge of the defense
-
His stretch during Kyle Allen’s winning streak was the most fun ive had watching the team since the first half of 2018 before Cam got hurt every week you were waiting for him to break a 50+ yard TD and it happened every game

Its absolutely good enough to keep us in games and if we even resembled a pro offense were at worst sitting at 3-3 right now
-
A team like the Giants looked to be in a worse situation than us a year ago and now theyre 5-1. Im not gettting rid of any of our young talented players until we see what kind of coach and QB we end up with in the offseason. Cap space and draft capital doesnt translate to wins on the field. Players and coaches do. I honestly dont think Rhule had a bad approach to building the team other than the QB situation. If Herbert falls one more pick to us were probably sitting here right now talking about how quickly we built one of the youngest and most talented teams in the league in less than 3 years

We all owe Teddy Bridgewater an apology

He was actively losing us games by turning the ball over though -

Im all for dunking on Rhule but that Baylor turnaround was pretty impressive. They damn near lost the program and he was a game away from the CFP by his 3rd year

We simply line our players up and pray someone is going to win their matchup. We do absolutely nothing to try to move players around and get them into favorable matchups. I made a post about it last week. And its sad because we have legit chess pieces like CMC, DJ and Robbie how many times yesterday did we keep CMC in pass protect but then send Ian Thomas on a route? Brilliant play calling

Are we the worst team in the league?
KillaCamNewton replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
I cant disagree with the above comments about this team being low on talent there is a lot of young potential on this team, but its far from a stacked roster. As of right now theres one perennial pro bowl level player on our team and thats McCaffrey for reference our 2015 team had Cam, Olsen, Stewart, Kalil, KK, Luke, TD who you would consider “elite” at their positions for several seasons then you had Norman and Norwell with breakout years at an “elite” level and then our next tier of players like CJ and Star, then over the hill but still solid vets like Tillman and Jared Allen and you realize how far away this team really is from a talent perspective from actually competing. We have one great player, several good players (DJ, Burns, Chinn, DJax, Shaq, Moton) some potential great players (Horn, Ickey) and the rest are JAGs. Until we get a legit franchise QB or a generational DL that single handedly disrupts a game like Aaron Donald or prime JJ Watt we arent going to be a contender. Is what it is bruh -
Yeah Mahomes is great but just watching their offense and their play design showed me how many levels there are to coaching especially when you compare their staff to ours. They lost arguably the biggest weapon in the league in Tyreek Hill and didnt miss a beat yesterday. Guys running open all over the field. Using motion and different tight end sets to get favorable matchups. Their was a touchdown they had yesterday where the safety was lined up against either Pringle or Hartman and he had been limping the play before so they motioned him all the way across the field into the flat and the safety couldnt run with him. I cannot remember the last time we saw any sort of offense that actually looked to expose and exploit matchups and mismatches. Every play we run it seems like it’s just hoping someone is going to win their 1on1 matchup or coverage will break down. CMC and DJ are 2 of the best open field weapons in the league and I could think of maybe 2 times yesterday that we actually tried to get them in space

Why was Josh Norman a one hit wonder?

The Panthers are the worst rated team in Madden 23
KillaCamNewton replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol this ^^^ This past year i would put djax and bouye as safeties, chinn as a linebacker, and gilmore, horn and henderson at corner and run cover 0 every play and most people would quit before halftime online -
Night and day between Panther and Canes home games
KillaCamNewton replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s their first year. Im not sure why anyone thinks this is a Charlotte problem. Every fanbase has its die hards and its casuals. When the team is winning the casuals are on board. Look at the Niners one of the most storied franchises in sports. We played them opening day in 2017 and the stadium was 3/4 empty. They make a Super Bowl 2 years later and now the place has standing room only sections. The Cowboys are suppsed to be americas team and anytime they play a team with any sort of fanbase the place is filled with opposing fans. America and its cities for the most part only root for winners -

I went to game 5 and it was electric. This is cap though. Wasnt anymore crazy than the Panthers and Seahawks playoff game i went to in 2015-16. Went to alot of UNC basketball games this year too and it was either dead inside or half the upper bowl was empty. Guarantee after their final four run the whole arena will be packed this year -
Saw a graphic today comparing 2000s and 2010s all decade team. Alot of people saying Ray Lewis and Urlacher were much superior to Luke and Bobby Wagner but I just dont see it. Luke and Wagner were basically better versions of Urlacher. When it comes to Ray Lewis other than being more intimidating and more physically imposing what exactly was he better at from a skill standpoint? I think Ray was perfect for the era he played in but would get exposed in coverage alot and would frankly have a hard time being on the field in today’s game with the way running backs can run routes out of the backfield. Luke didnt always lay the wood but I swear I watched almost every game of his career and not only did he rarely miss tackles but he almost never misdiagnosed a play, took a wrong step, or was caught out of position. From a coverage standpoint its not even close. I think Patrick Willis was a better comparison to Ray Lewis

How do you define “qualified” though? The problem is people dont understand the difference between “qualified” and “experienced” By that logic Mike Shula was more qualified for the Rams job in 2017 than Sean McVay was regardless of how the media is trying to spin this there are plenty of examples of black coaches getting jobs over more “qualified” white coaches. Brian Flores himself was never even a coordinator before he got the Dolphins job. Guys like Steve Wilks and Vance Joseph were coordinators for one season before getting head coaching jobs. Mike Tomlin was a coordinator for one season for a team that went 6-10 and gave up almost 400 points yet got hired by the premier franchise of the league that was a year removed from a Super Bowl. Byron Leftwich was a coordinator for one season, has Tom Brady fall in his lap and now he deserves to be a head coach? talking heads get so tied up in “qualifications” and “experience” instead of what really matters which is does the coach demonstrate he can develop players, does he demonstrate he can put players into positions that utilize their strengths, whats his philosophy in how he manages a game, how does he plan to utilize the current talent on the roster and what types of players will he covet in the draft and free agency? we keep hearing about how Eric Bienemy keeps getting passed over for jobs yet for all we know in an interview if hes asked how he plans to score points without Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill he might not have an answer

The Rams will be the away team in their stadium
KillaCamNewton replied to Wes21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Theyre pretty much the away team in every home game. I thought BoA was bad about opposing fans but LA is completely different -
Ive never seen why everyone slobbers over Eric Bienemy so much. Half of their offense seems like its just Mahomes buying time and improvising and whenever defenses find something that starts working against them he never seems to have a counter for it

Ill give a better example: 2018 if the Browns drafted Josh Allen 1st overall people would have gotten fired and if the Bills drafted Baker Mayfield people would have said it was the steal of the draft fast forward now and if thats how it would have gone were probably looking at the Browns being the Super Bowl favorite and the Bills would be drafting in the Top 10
