I dont mind the philosophy in general but the problem with coaches like Wilks is they will not drift from their philosophy regardless of the situation or who the opponent is. He coached that game with the assumption we would continue to get stops with a beat up secondary, no pass rush, and going against the GOAT and 2 all pro receivers. If you have the 2013 Seahawks defense I can understand punting but we dont have anything close to that

He’s a shinier Mario Addison but the organization values him like Peppers. In fact if you look at Addison’s 3 years here where he was a starter its almost identical production to Burns’s 3 years as a starter. Are we SURE we couldnt have Haynes fill in for Burns and he wouldnt get the same amount of sacks?

No one thinks he sucks. But its insane that we didnt think it was worth 2 1sts and a 2nd for him. He makes 2 or 3 plays per game then is for the most part no existent. For the type of haul we rejected he should be on the level of TJ Watt, Crosby, Bosa(s), Aaron Donald etc that single handedly blow up an offense the entire game and he just doesnt have that kind of impact. At this point Derrick Brown is probably a more impactful player

He also came here at age 37 to be a situational pass rusher and retire at home and gave us virtually the same production Burns gave us this year in his first contract year lmao

Gotta feel for Wilks. He was brought in partly because they felt he could get the best out of him like he did with Norman and instead he might have just lost his chance to be the coach because he put too much faith in him today

Peppers took like every 4th play off and still had 4 times the impact in a game Burns does

People in NC that try to gate keep fandom based on whether or not you went there are worse never understand the logic. Im a 90s baby that grew up in NC. The Panthers, Canes and Hornets were all new teams. UNC basketball and to a lesser degree dook basketball have always been the best show in town. I moved to Arizona and went to college there then when I moved to Charlotte a few years ago people looked at me weird for being a UNC fan.
