Peppers had some poor showings or seasons sometimes too but was a lot stronger and able to break through double teams. Burns will only ever be a role player.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
Donald LaFell replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah we need any kind of consistency for a good long while -
Yeah that’s the insane part. We need this 3 years in a row at least lol

I can’t see any way he could play well enough to convince me he could be a top 5-10 starter in the NFL. Best case scenario he’s 1st round playoff exit anytime he plays a decent defense. I think he’s bad enough that he legitimately won’t have a career after the panthers. I’ll be shocked if someone trades anything for him.

With the first pick, don't draft a QB? Draft a DE? C'mon!
Donald LaFell replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
If they can keep the O-line together and healthy then I think a QB at #1 is an ok choice but then that probably puts pressure on the FO to go heavy on the offense again. Either way it’s a long process. -
I love that Coker has seemingly found his way to the NFL by excelling at route running which a lot of the more physically gifted guys totally neglect. I think he could be really stable safety valve for years to come.

Bryce is starter Sunday per Canales presser
Donald LaFell replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
He at least seems to be playing like he has nothing to lose. I think this might be the first time I’ve truly seen him rip it over the middle. I don’t think he’ll pan out but any positives would be nice. If he gets traded then hallelujah. -
I was super hopeful for Gettis and Lafell in 2010. Too bad they didn’t work out here but I’m glad Lafell got a ring.

Do you resign Dalton for one more season?
Donald LaFell replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he’s happy in a backup role I’d love to have him back just to be a QB in the room who has had success(however limited) in Canales’s offense. I’m after any semblance of consistency year over year. -
I think if the new coach doesn’t work out and is fired. As long as the team looks better over time with the existing coach and staff I think you just keep a timer of 2-3 years for them to assemble a roster. otherwise the timer restarts a bit. if we actually hit on some draft picks then maybe the next coach will finally look a little better for his first year.

I can’t really judge until it truly blows up again. Just gotta wait 1-2 more years and see if the team gets better or not. It’s crazy looking at the awful 2001 or 2010 teams and seeing just how much more talent there was than this years. It’s going to take a while.
-
It makes sense to hang onto any homegrown talent, gotta start somewhere. You can’t tear the roster down every year.

I don’t understand why Richardson just didn’t fake a cramp or something. Causing himself way too much trouble

Jaycee Horn post game confrontation with Sean Payton
Donald LaFell replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Even if I don’t think JC had a good reason I still like him showing any form of passion. -
I can always appreciate optimism from a fellow fan. I enjoyed seeing some of the young players get involved. Really thrilled with Coker/XL. However I have totally given up on Bryce. One TD was a short field and the other was garbage time. The Broncos were never in danger of losing the game. Felt like a shutout.

Dave Canales is one and done.... part 2.
Donald LaFell replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m out of ideas, I don’t even know how to respond because I feel like every possibility has the same chance of blowing up and ending up in the same spot. -
I agree he looked improved but he’s so bad it just doesn’t matter. His ceiling is not higher than 64 other QBs in the league. I seriously doubt he gets another job after the Panthers.

I gotta poo a post with the name Sean Payton in it I’m sorry
-
I hope they can give Plummet some garbage time
-
Even if that pass was a prayer big props to Bryce for putting it up at least
-
All in all I’m proud of Bryce for trying a deep ball and not throwing a pick(yet). I feel like the time on the bench did him some good. he’s still awful but I’m happy for him.

What a flawless opening drive! Love it.
