  1. Didn't Rhule pull Hubbard because he missed a block against the Jets? In any case, I think he will to start contributing soon. Most the plays I've seen he didn't have much of a hole to run through. I'm sure Brady will figure a way to get him the ball soon, we need to keep CMC healthy and with 17 games we need a backup that has had reps...
  2. one person already hurt, you would think theres a fire suppression system built in the damn thing. If I remember correctly, the superdome is something like 25 stories high with the field a couple stories under grade. this could be a problem to put out.
  3. I've read a couple of the same takes on Sam and its fair to do at this point. I see him improving by listening to the coaches, knows the scheme and is throwing receivers open. I've never understood why its hard for QBs to throw to the sidelines when in trouble, but that needs to improve now. But he's doing good and with a solid Panther's D (now w/ AJ) I think we are on schedule. If Sam can get incrementally better every game we will surprise some top teams this season- like maybe the Bills/Bucs.
  4. be prepared for PI calls on our secondary and quick start by NO but Snow will come and Brady will reign. La victoire est a nou
  5. Panthers have a tough first half and down 17-6. Snow gets aggressive in the second half and creates three turnovers including Horn's first INT. Sam starts clicking and puts up 150 yards with 2 TDS and we have a new hero, Hubbard with a TD and breaks several runs over 20 yards. Throw in some FGs off the cross bar.... Final 33-27 After a particularly nasty block, Tremble starts the Keep Pounding chant that is so loud that no hears Sweet Caroline and heard throughout the CLT for hours.
  6. you got to believe this was the game the coaching staff was thinking about in the off season. The Jets game was going to be shaky due to new personnel and rookies but the defense was going to keep us in it. And now we have data on how players performed in a real game. the crowd will be into it, we make some changes in scheme and it's going to be a fight against a division rival. Rhule will have our guys revved up and Brady/Snow will execute a game plan that have thought about for months. the saints where thinking about the packers game in the off season and not about us. it's going to be an early test on our intensity and will. I like how this game sets up for us and 3.5 point ? that isn't much considering how the first games where played.
  7. I expect a close game in the first half, maybe we get a decent lead as both teams settle in. It's the second half offense that needs to get on the gas and keep it there. We need to break the playing it safe mode that has screwed us for years. I want chunks of yards from CMC and CH and an aerial assault from Sam and the boys with a D that is flying around making big hits.
  8. Same could said about MLB, players are paid for the long ball. Averages are secondary and few teams play station to station anymore. The NHL has less fights, but I'm OK with that. To the OP's point-Maybe the passing game is why Horn was picked as opposed to another player.
  9. I don't how to gauge last year but can say the draft was well done and that's how I'll measure the rebuilding years. Is the management making smart decisions and bringing in team players that will execute our scheme. The O line is puzzling, but we see if more TE's or whatever the plan is works. I do think of D will be flying around and although will make mistakes, will be a blast to watch. On QB, well we know an efficient two gloved guy didn't get it and even with the baggage the Don has, he will throw deep more. Remember the cajun kid that was a back up and was playing in the EU? he turned out OK. Igo right. there will be a wall and with this many Rooks , they are going to get tired at some point. I do think we will get some wins but will have a bad game or two, it all depends on how the team responds to big losses. I predict they bounce back. 9-8 is the correct answer but we have another good draft next year...
  10. The Panthers have been through plenty of bad QBs over the years and even with all the upgrades from a well run draft, it will depend on the QB this year. I like that we are returning to aggressive defense, it's our thing and last year was not Panthers football. As many have pointed out, this division has a couple of good offensive teams...and they need to stopped in the fourth quarter. The question is what do we do when we have the ball with 2 minutes left. The only comparison I can see is when Jake came in, screwed by the Saints and is still pissed at them but played with a chip on his shoulder. I hope Sam has the same chip with the Jets. Jake had 19 td/16 int in 03 and then went 29/15 in 04, not to mention 21 career wins from behind. I loved Cam but he is a generational talent. Jake was a pissed off slinger and if Sam and this receiver core can win close games in the 4th quarter it could be something to see. Or its Pickles time and we start over at QB a year from now.
  11. Don't forget the hot bed of great QB's from the Amsterdam Admirals with Warner and the Raging Cajun.
  12. I think it came down to a $0.02 increase in sales tax for a stadium in K Vegas, which of course was voted down. Greensboro actually has a history with baseball, the Yankees minor league team was here when Jeter was coming up. And our old stadium was in Bull Durham for the "rain out" scene...so we had that going for us. We also had the Hurricanes here until RAL stole them.
  13. Finally a sign that we are on the road to redemption, the crapologist has returned and now I know that SCP is FIT to tied. I liked this draft, if we grade to what we needed and not just making a big splash, it an A+. Thanks SCP and welcome back home.
  14. Saints probably. get him cheap, add some leadership and get our playbook.
  15. good post Harb, Roddy's got the boys in fighting shape and they have quietly just kicked butt. It a pleasure to watch the canes on tv but cant wait to be at PNC soon. When Petr went down I thought it over, but the rook is getting better every game. This will be a test but if they win, the canes will know they belong on top, Tampa is a complete team. Canes win 4-3 and put the league on notice that they play D and are fast...
  16. I'm sure most bars will have the game on, but if you go to St peter st and Pat O'briens, they have a pretty big screen TV in the bar area ( to the left when you walk in). it will be mostly tourists and you may find other Panther fans...
  17. How about Espn http://espn.go.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/15356/2015-carolina-panthers-game-by-game-predictions 9-7? Btw, Thanks Jeremy for all the work you've done...
  18. Just a reminder of the B/R prediction in April http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2438860-week-3-v-new-orleans-saints/page/17 8-8 This is OUR time, and now the nation knows. A little Dab will do ya Panther nation- today is your day- leave nothing in the tank tonight See y'all at 3 Chris and Sherry
  19. is that your girlfriends name? algorithm? I kid MG...we win this game is the 1 st quarter
  20. Question, it sounds like he and the union are going to appeal the suspension. is it possible they can delay the suspension until after the MN game?
  21. Hey, keep an eye out for my car...it was dud and stuck in the mud somewhere in the swamps of Jersey. Hoping for Shaq and Cap to announce their arrival today and our D line to get three more sacks. close at the half but Panthers pull it off 34-21
  22. Points for GinnBomb... Panthers rush for 14, GinnBomb for 7 and Cotch 7 Panthers 28 Eagles 10
  23. it's the best scenario for this year and the future. remember it was the same moves that saved our season last year. unlike others here, I'll take speed in the receiver core over experience, getting open downfield helps Cam and the running game. and we have Ricky to improve technique. you can't teach speed.... 10-6 if our D can score some points.
