  1. I don't give a flying fug what anyone thinks, Dave hasn't demonstrated that he can adapt to a situation on the fly. He tries to have the same gameplan every week. Now I'm giving him grace due to a highly ineffective QB, but it's not like he's demonstrated that he's Kyle Shanahan or Ben Johnson.
  2. High day two is a "higher pick." I started a thread maybe three or four weeks ago and it was basically based upon Ladd, X and how we drafted the wrong guy. So, yes Ladd was actually a "lower pick" than X (but still a high second round pick), but not only was he the more polished route runner, he was just as fast, but quicker on his feet and simply more fluid, but also had better hands. Perhaps the worst thing is that he was better suited for Bryce. I was open to X at the time because I knew we were perhaps swinging that way, but, as a Georgia alum, if I were picking of course I would've picked Ladd. He was really always my first choice. I think he was a legit first round talent. Turns out, he may have been the best one (and that's just not the homer in me). Some will call it hindsight, but if you look at it critically, there was no way the likes of X, Xavier Worthy, Keon Coleman or A.D. Mitchell should've been in the discussion with him. It just goes to show, like with QBs there are legit options at receiver on day two on the regular.
  3. I mean Coker is fine, but it's way past time for us to get another dynamic receiver on the field. I'm skeptical of UDFAs and day 3 picks to be honest, though I'm well aware that there are Puka's out there.
  4. I mean, I think Legette is probably a bust also, and that's after trying to defend and rationalize about him, but I'm not gonna use that play. He did stock his hand out there, but the ball was just too off target. That being said, I've never seen a guy who is supposed to have the potential of a star just disappear in games like he has. There are UDFAs that do more than he has with the number of snaps he's gotten. His only saving grace is that he plays in a largely inept passing offense, so there still may be a sliver of hope that the offense is so disjointed that maybe it's to difficult for him too succeed. That's probably wishful thinking though. We need a higher pick at receiver for the third draft in a row. Honestly, with needing a QB, a WR, a defensive back or two, a linebacker, and whatever else, who knows when we'll actually be viably competitive. And to think, people were trying to get after me a few weeks ago when I basically said that we drafted the wrong guy(s). Hopefully Dan has learned some huge lessons about drafting the past couple of years. As the merry-go-round spins...
  5. I know better. You've invested decades, including more than a couple in this place, just like many of us. That's big picture, Scot.
  6. Honestly, I think Canales is slow to change, if not outright stubborn. I'm still skeptical of his ability to adapt, particularly on the fly, and I'm not so sure that his victories are not more about his counterparts' coaching failures than DC's coaching successes, but being that he's had to try and coach around Bryce and other weaknesses of personnel, I'm willing to give him another couple of years (presumably post-Bryce). That being said, if he gets canned, I won't lose an ounce of sleep over it.
  7. Bryce has sucked for more than the last month basically. There were plenty of non-black-and-white arguments about Bryce---too many in my opinion.
  8. Speaking of Chuba, we have Etienne, and we should be involving him more. Why not?
  9. Agree with this on most everything, but one. I don't think Chuba makes a helluva difference. You're assuming that he's not fully healthy. Healthy or not, when a team can dare you to beat them with the pass, especially this team that basically only has one starting caliber receiver---including TEs---your RBs are not going to have too much success. If any opposition the rest of the way is worth it's weight in gold, they will follow the roadmap and lighted pathway that the Saints used, and the true problems behind our team will be highlighted every Sunday (and the one Monday) for the remainder of the season.
  10. We're just too damned conservative now. I mean we can't just count on winning one way. We have to figure out a way to get the pass game going.
  11. Nick Scott has gotten his share of Huddle hate, but I came across this SI article by Zach Roberts when I was researching recently released Quandre Diggs, speculated to be a better option (https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/11/07/breaking-titans-cut-former-three-time-pro-bowler-quandre-diggs-4-destinations-ranked/3/), but getting back to Nick Scott... Now to be fair, the observation on Scott was before the Packers game, but the stats couldn't have changed that much, and may have gotten better. "At some point during virtually every Carolina Panthers game, you have probably found yourself grumbling about Nick Scott. The much-maligned safety has seemingly been out of position a lot or has failed to make a play. The eye test has often let him down. "But that's why stats are so helpful. Sometimes, the eye test, especially for fans, is unreliable. On occasion, advanced metrics help make sense of things and lend more clarity. In the case of Scott, they make him look like a much better safety than any of us would've guessed. "In coverage, Scott has given up just 15 yards and an average of five yards per catch. That's the lowest among safeties, leading superstars like Julian Love, Talanoa Hafunga, Quandre Diggs, Kerby Joseph, Kyle Hamilton, and Minkah Fitzpatrick. "In FI%, the safety leads all his counterparts once again at 40%. Brian Branch, Camren Kinchens, and Xavier McKinney are some notable names he leads. He's been pretty excellent in pass coverage, which is crucial for the Panthers." For those wondering, "FI" means forced incompletions. Now I'm way past trying to figure out why X links aren't embedding for me like they used to, but here you go: https://x.com/dacornerman/status/1981363757608513632?t=rx_5iLjp8_y5huNcg_y1nA&s=19 Suffice it to say that Scott may not be as bad as some have led on. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/onsi/news/much-maligned-panthers-db-way-better-than-think
  12. After seeing QBs sit, switch multiple teams, and somehow start balling out, I think we should bring him in if it comesndown to that. He didn't have much experience at all upon entering the league. He'd only be 26, so maybe his best time is now. Why not give it a try?
  13. I wonder if Dan and Dave have this same belief. We'll see what's what with Evans fairly soon. We'll see about Bryce in the off-season. What's on obvious to most Huddlers seems to escape the FO.
  14. T-Mac is so much more than that. He really is.
  15. Twitter, a.k.a. X, is rife with bots, trolls and idiots (for real). Twitter is confirmation that many people are just as dumb as we thought they were.
  16. I mean, it's pretty simple. Canales is adapting based upon the limitations of his QB.
  17. I just have to think that he was simply unfortunate to come into the league to the Jets and then be traded to the Panthers, one terrible franchise and another now shaky franchise that has been terrible as of late. Not to mention Baker, but Sam Darnold looks like a totally different QB. He's out there slinging with confidence, going through progressions, making reads, taking what the defense is giving him, and then pushing the ball down the field without fear. My goodness, someone here really screwed the pooch. I don't know where Fitterer is, but the dumpy car salesman just got an extension. I wish I knew all the other dodo heads who were in on our layers of failure pertaining to Darnold, you know the ones that are supposed to help QBs develop and those giving input on personnel, but I hope that they have other employment.
  18. Slow developing run play on 2nd and basically a wing and a prayer on 3rd that's 12 yards behind the sticks on a key possession. Sigh
  19. It would be OK if Bryce knew how to throw a damned catchable ball.
  20. That's yet to be determined. That's a helluva contortion job to try and catch that awkwardly placed ball.
