I have to admit that I have never heard of Enzo Flojo, but I kind of like this Clutch Points' writer's name. It flows. When I saw his trade hypothetical, I thought about it, and I kind of like it as well. But would our FO actually do it, in light of their draft last year? And would the Falcons do it, considering that the Panthers are a division rival, and are they ready to admit a sunk cost? "Kyle Pitts hasn’t lived up to his draft billing yet, but his potential is too tantalizing to ignore. For the cost of a Day 3 pick, the Panthers could secure a tight end who gives Bryce Young the safety net he desperately needs. With McMillan, Legette, and Thielen stretching defenses on the outside, Pitts could thrive in a featured role in Carolina’s offense." That's an interesting proposition. I expect to hear the arguments about giving Sanders' time and our much-needed draft capital. Sanders may surprise, yeah, but he had an opportunity to take the position by the horns last year and wrestle it away from Tremble. And, of course we have Mitchell Evans who will likely be a good all-around backup, but neither guy has the upside of Pitts. And for a day three pick---if we could actually unlock Pitts' true potential as the glorified WR that he is, then he'd make a compelling number three option and safety valve that may play well with Bryce Young's game. https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/last-minute-trade-panthers-must-make-week-1-2025-nfl-season

Well damn. In light of the Thielen rumor, I was trying to see whether John Metchie would be cut, but he was traded to the Eagles almost a week ago.

Sounds about right. I'm really not enthused by Nick Scott or Shemar Bartholomew. I didn't realize Jarrett Kingston had made such an impact. That LB group is the best we can do for now. It's one big question mark that could surprise or flop. That might be the biggest position of need in the 2026 draft. I'm betting that or TE.

Josina Anderson: Panthers NOT trading Adam Thielen
TD alt replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Give me a third, and I might think about paying a little of his salary. A fourth? Nah. They're the ones trying to get to the dance. -

Well, they don't have to pay it. But to ask us to pay part of his relatively paltry salary, especially in light of his relatively recent solid play, is an insult. -

They want us to pay part of his salary. Fùck 'em. They want him, they pay! -

Well, we don't care either. If the Vikings want him this year, they're gonna have to pay. -

I don't have any attachment to Thielen, and I think a fourth is arguably a waste of time. If they want him, they're going to have to act like they want him. Otherwise we can just keep him. We're likely not missing out on a damned thing by keeping him. -

You can't rationally blame that on Thielen. I believe Thielen is declining, like all players do, but you talk about him like he's been dogsh¡t or something. His play arguably and rationally is worthy of a third. -
No need to inquire then.
-
All your opinion. I think that it's dumb to refuse to inquire about players at a position of need and see if you can work things out. Transactions are about the details, plain and simple.

I'm going to think that our situation is improving until proven otherwise. I like many of Dan's draftees (especially this year's). What I don't necessarily like is the contract to Turk Wharton. I also didn't like the Brooks pick (because I thought Chuba was good). But nobody's perfect. I think that with another draft or two, we'll really be improved. Good GMs can draft impact players outside of the first round.

I said early that this was a likely hypothetical. Dallas isn't going to let Parsons walk...unless Jerry's gone mad.
-
There's more than one way to get to a championship. It's almost criminal how you're talking about our offense. If you think the Panthers should be scared of making moves because Bryce sucks and the rest of the players suck, or that Dan and Canales suck, just say so. Don't half-step.
-
Like I said, you're talking about Parsons like he's just some average Joe "non QB". He's on pace to be the best pass rusher of all time. His value to a team is practically immeasurable. You don't agree, but others do, and that's why the Panthers have been listed as possible suitors.

PFF grades from last night...Ransom had a night

That sky ball that hung in space forever would've certainly been picked by a first team unit. -
I'm not going to let you talk about Parsons as if he isn't actually on pace to be the best pass rusher of all time. That's to be valued and looked into. It's as simple as that.
-
You don't pass up on a young generational pass rusher unless you absolutely can't make it work. That's not hard to figure out either.
-
Semantics don't matter. The Rams were a serious contender for a few years (hell, they still are) without their QB position solved. Hell, the Eagles were arguably the same way. People talked poo about Hurts (and still do). Let's not even talk about Carson Wentz and Nic Foles. You have to keep on building your team regardless if you're sure about the QB or not.
-
No one said that it wasn't the most important, but you don't stop building your team because you don't have your "QB solved." That's crazy. You build as you can and keep filling in holes.
-
No need to keep repeating the same thing. That's your opinion. The Rams built a team and dropped a QB in there, and so did the 49ers.
-
So, you think that just because more than half the teams are overpaying for a QB, that means they're right? Give me a break. Pass rushers are the second highest paid for a reason, and many of them are better football players than the QBs they play for.
-
I strongly disagree. Every potential deal is dependent upon the value.
-
I mean, what do you expect to pay for the best rusher since Lawrence Taylor? I mean, seriously.
