  1. I just thought that this was interesting, even if it seems like they're kinda throwing crap against the wall. They generally don't know which way to go--we'll go--based upon our needs relative to their assigned players' and general positional value. But during their three-round mock, they landed on 1. Omar Cooper 2. Eli Stowers 3. Jake Slaughter They weren't necessarily crazy about the picks, but think these are some good players. They said something to the effect that they thought making our picks would be easy, but the addition of our two new defensive cornerstones, now it's hard. Dan and the FO have really done a great job so far of putting us into a position of taking the BPA (not that their finished in free agency). I just think that it's interesting to ponder how positional value is going to play in our draft equation. Tillis, with his PFF background, may be going through similar mental exercises. You know me though. I'm not gonna cry over a receiver, especially a legit route runner, in the first. That would be three years in a row, which seems kinda weird, but perhaps not when you consider the current build of the team. I do think that we'll strongly consider OT in round one, but one that's worth it has to be available. As for LB or DT, it doesn't sound like they believe that the value will necessarily be there, especially LB since we've already committed so many resources to it. What do y'all think that we'll do? All this is subject to change before free agency ends. It's really a good time to be a Panthers fan.
  2. Maybe they really thought Crosby's health was too big a question mark. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ravens-trey-hendrickson-contract-maxx-crosby-nfl-free-agency/
  3. I've been looking forward to TE not being an afterthought since Olsen has left, and every season itcs like, "Sike!" If we get Njoku, I'll believe it means something when I see it in the field. He better be the starter without all the rotational bullshit.
  4. I mean, no need to complain. A middling center is better than what we had...which is nothing
  5. I'll withhold judgment for another couple of seasons.
  6. Not only that, but some good talent is in the draft.
  7. I tried to tell y'all in the other thread, it was a big assumption that he was getting north of 20 mil per year. It's a good contract.
  8. Pressure win rate and advanced stats is probably what Morgan and company were looking at. We're betting on his health. The needle is moving in the right direction.
  9. The Panthers FO viewed Phillips the best FA across all positions this year. So now we know why they paid him handsomely. I hope it works out. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2026/03/09/nfl-free-agency-class-panthers-jaelan-phillips/89068067007/
  10. Just concentrate on the guaranteed number. But, you're right, that's a lot.
  11. So much for Lloyd, huh, guys? You should be doubly happy for getting a real exclamation point. True dawg, high motor.
  12. He could. I doubt it though. His stats don't really bare that out. He hasn't been a superstar, but he hasn't been the Invisible Man either.
  13. First off, I don't know why people immediately jumped to more than 20 mil per year. My guess is that it won't meet that threshold, certainly not the guaranteed part. Secondly, there's more to this thread than that...
  14. I remembered when Huddlers were low-key slamming Lloyd before last season. He didn't do anything but have his best season. Now, Huddlers are still potshooting the guy. #CarolinaHuddleLife
  15. Perhaps in some respects. He just passed it backwards. I give Pickett more points for improvisation and what-the-fvck-was-that factor. It was truly crazy looking. But Brooks folded to the pressure much worse, I'll give you that.
  16. Let's not forget the high grades . "'Lloyd earned PFF grades above 80.0 in coverage, against the run, and as a pass-rusher," wrote McGuinness.' As mentioned, Lloyd did a bit of everything for the Jacksonville defense. He totaled 25 pressures as a blitzer and ranked 11th among linebackers in run defense grade" https://jaguarswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/jaguars/2026/01/08/jaguars-devin-lloyd-antonio-johnson-named-pff-all-pro-teams/88080158007/
  17. I mean, yeah, he wasn't perfect in run defense. The Jags still wanted to re-sign him, and they still can't afford him. The Devil is always in the details, and even Barnwell isn't exactly slamming Lloyd and gives him his praise. Someone has to give the other side of the equation.
  18. Y'all are acting like the guy hasn't been solid throughout. His tackling production is somewhat off of theirs for their first three seasons, but that's about it; everything else is on par, and his interceptions were more than both of them put together. It's really not a mystery that Lloyd "peaked" last season, as the new coaching staff put him into a better situation to succeed. Moreover, to say thar the Jags don't have any interest in re-signing him is just not true; they have interest, but, due to their current cap and team situation, they just can't afford him. They can't afford him. He has earned whatever pay he is about to get, and he's now squarely in his prime and ascension to top-tier status status in the league.
