  1. I just disagree in some respects. RBs are still valuable, and that's why several of the top teams in the NFL have either drafted one high or paid for one. It's one thing to not want to pay one after their rookie contract, and an entirely different thing to refuse to draft one high.
  2. The football gods hate the Panthers. Until we make penance to whatever football god that we offended, all hope is lost.
  3. And yet teams still draft RBs fairly highly all the time. It just depends on the player. If Brooks hadn't torn his ACL, he was likely going to be drafted in the first round as opposed to the second. Teams are reluctant to pay for RBs because they get hurt a lot, not because they don't have inherent value. Sure, the modern NFL puts passing at a premium, but versatile three-down backs are still valued. Sure, mobile and running QBs can take some of the pressure off of the need for star backs, but then the risk to the QB is magnified exponentially, even having possible career-ending implications, so I think that shrewd FOs realize the importance of having legit three-down backs.
  4. We were getting out-physicaled all day long. Hopefully it's just a product of rust and lack of cohesion due to trying to develop chemistry. I have my doubts though that time will help, especially with a QB playing as bad as Bryce.
  5. I'm with you. I just don't see that. With the likes of CMC, Barkley and perhaps a few others---and even looking historically at many guys like LT and Sweetness, a prolific three-down RB is important. If a franchise can't maximize those types of skills and parlay that into a chip, that's a team problem. And, yes, I think that Brooks has that type of upside.
  6. I'm not exactly accepting that narrative. People don't deserve a hand just because they took an opportunity to pick low hanging fruit. You have to let things play out before you lower the boom on a kid.
  7. Bryce couldn't make the easy throws. He has shown very little touch and/or layering of the football when he's on the move. Those misses are no longer dumbfounding unfortunately. If we tell the truth, we've come to expect them.
  8. Come on, man. Bryce belief pretty much went down the toilet somewhere between September and October last season.
  9. I get it, but the buck doesn't stop with the second in command. Morgan wasn't my first, second, third, fourth or fifth pick, but I still think that he deserves a little patience from fans. I mean, if he's fired then we may not see success in the 2020s.
  10. I acknowledge that you could be right, but I still like his first four picks, but I think that it's worth saying that even if only two work out to become solid stars, then that's largely considered an acceptable draft.
  11. I'm not necessarily sure that Morgan is the problem here. He inherited a train wreck, including a situation where we basically had to give Bryce another opportunity. I'm certainly not going to give up on our 2023 draft picks or our acquisitions in free agency. The mess left by Fitterer and Rhule just wasn't going to be an easy fix, and having a QB that misses all over the field isn't going to lead to any semblance of legit competition, and actually makes players look less effective.
  12. Dude, how come your password recovery doesn't send the email?
  13. Come on, man. It's way too early for a thread like this. Hell, a "cut Young" thread makes more sense.
  14. If we don't get it on third down, we better go for it, regardless.
  15. The two plays I have seen after getting home...My goodness.
  16. Got home just in time enough for Horn to watch the receiver run right by him. SMDH
