Who here was NOT HAPPY we won yesterday....
TD alt replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ahem... fug losing. If your brain-trust can't find impact players all throughout the first and second rounds, then why are the persons in their positions? -
How can I NOT watch Chiefs football? Come on, man. That's what you're supposed to do, be on top on the scoreboard in the end. Just because they're doing just enough doesn't really mean anything. Hate Andy for having an astute understanding of clock management and a knowing that his QB is simply going to pull it out when he gets the ball last and the game is on the line. I wholeheartedly agree that it's been uglier this year, with Pat throwing all the picks and such, but, if you think about it objectively, at the end of the day the Chiefs are doing what they've been doing for years (particularly in the playoffs). You don't go 14-1 by accident and not playing good football. You just don't. And, I saw them yesterday. For me, they're making perceptible and incremental improvements at exactly the right time. I don't know whether they beat Pittsburgh (who needs to win, if nothing else but for morale), but I still wouldn't actually bet against the Chiefs come playoff time. As an aside, if Rashee pulls off the miracle and comes back for the semifinals or a championship, that's the wrap!

I don't understand why some are quick to trade Ickey. Only fans that don't understand our history at the position for the last decade, or just don't understand positional value due to availability (or simply luck) would be pushing a trade like that.

The Chiefs aren't playing good football, but yet they keep beating teams in the end...and they're 14-1?

How do you get a delay of game down there? That's unacceptable. -

Why not just run Chuba? -
I agree some from some perspective about other teams, but it seems like AB's situation, alone, just breaks the scale. DJ's attitude---in my opinion---although it's closer to normal diva-ish behavior still leaves the other temperamental receivers in the dust. He's a far number two from AB, but he's still obviously the number two problem child. His own selfishness, apparently, is destroying any talent and potential that he could afford an NFL team. He's self-destructive. He's cutting his own career short, just as AB did, seemingly due to a bad attitude.

I agree with the coaching part. The Pats' offensive roster sucks. Only one TE worth keeping. The WRs leave a helluva lot to be desired, and the O-line is abysmal.

I think that it's not about Pittsburgh, per sé, it's about being willing to give guys with talent and opportunity, but also being willing to get rid of players when they show that they don't have a team mentality. All teams should be taking notes as far as I'm concerned (especially how they go about finding the talent in the first place).

Bryce earned that imbalance. Sure, he got lemons. But so far he's made piss water. Drake Maye, who is arguably in a worse situation than Bryce was, is looking real.

Panthers Commit To Bryce Young Being Starter For Rest Of Season
TD alt replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know think it's clear at all that he's going to get next year, especially if he plays like bad Bryce for the next three. That's likely the whole reason they've named him starter for the next three. Furthermore, there are other QBs in the league---namely Justin Fields---who we can acquire that just might push Bryce to the bench. Perhaps I'm seeing this wrong, but I do not detect any finality at the QB position for 2025. -
Panthers Made the top 5 on an ESPN List...

"Moore has been hot and cold..." And this is what I and others were trying to tell some of y'all all along. I remember last year, @frankw, when you were trying to clown me after the Moore's 200+ yard game. Well, predictably, that was an anomaly Now I'm not in any way saying that he isn't a good receiver, and, yes, it was an ill-advised move to trade him by really any measure. But, he's probably a top 20 or 25 receiver like he's basically always been. Yeah, I'm not always right, but listen sometimes. ---The Wide Receiver Extremist (given nickname by @tiger7_88) -
After we win the next three games, Tet McMillan will be a more realistic option

It's a decent vid with compelling reasons for his opinion. But, my thing is is that you simply can't draft McMillan thinking he is a surefire WR1. There are questions. His 40---rightly or wrongly---will play a part. I'd think that his splits (which will speak more to his game translating to the pros in my mind) are more important. As much as you're trying to sell us that McMillan is a don't-overthink-it-type-of-player, I wouldn't say that's the case. Workouts will play a part in all of this. At this point, I like the thought of Tetairoa. That's as much as I can give you right now.

What is he saying? To me, he is suggesting is that T-Mac needs a lot of refinement, and that if he is unable to make the transition, then he's not going to live up to the expectations of a higher draft pick.

You have my condolences as well. I lost my grandmother (98) in August, and her sister (99) roughly two weeks later. We couldn't get but so sad because they were so old (like 1 in 10000 people live to that age), but they---my grandmother, especially---were still central to the family and are missed.

For what its worth, as a Huddler and football fan, this is a lesson I won't forget.

Thanks. It wasn't my loss per sé, but my brother-in-law's sister and her husband whom I have known for 20+ years. They had a baby girl, born in May of this year prematurely---only one pound and four ounces. The little girl fought for seven months. They finally let her come home about 10 days ago (at six pounds). Everyone thought that she was on her way to a full healthy life. She was able to actually see the sun and the sky, and spend a few nights at home in a room with her Christmas tree. She unexpectly stopped breathing and passed away on about the fifth or sixth night. It was a difficult, tragic situation for us all. But the parents are strong and steadfast in their faith.

A luxury pick? Perhaps I don't clearly understand what you're saying. First round QBs are the ones that have the highest probability of actually succeeding in this league. Now "wasting first round picks on QBs" is a different story. "Wasting" picks like trading multiple firsts to move up and get a bust is not a luxury, it's just unfortunate at best or dumb at worst (depending on the situation of course). That being said, I believe that if you allow a prospective franchise QB to fall to you without giving up a king's ransom, then you have to take swings until you hit the homerun.
