I think Canales is trying to find his way. Within that same vein, we were officially put out weeks ago, so I think he's experimenting a little bit. I really didn't see anything egregious in the playoffs last season. If he had had a real RB, they may have won the game.

I'd say third or later, maybe, but with one of those fourths I'd skip to the podium.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with drafting Milroe depending upon the round.

I was ready to jump on Bryce about QBR & passer RTG, but...

I don't think that it's rushing biased as much as it takes rushing into account (as well it should in my opinion). If you move the ball via passing or rushing, you're still moving the ball. Plus, if you look at their actual passer ratings, it's harder to say that Burrow is a so much better passer. Now of course just sheer passing yards does stand for something in the passing equation, but you still can't discount a QB's ability to run. -

I think that you can give Bryce credit and still require that he play better. A lot of this is relative and perspective-based. Even "reasonable expectations" can be more subjective than objective. I just don't like not having a definitive answer in light of the investments on the offensive side of the ball. That speaks to organizational dysfunction in my mind. Bryce probably should have sat the entirety of last season, or at least the first half. All that being said, as an aside, I think that you can give Bryce credit while also wanting someone else to start, or at the very least provide legitimate competition (which doesn't happen enough in the NFL). -
I'm down for any of them, Milroe in particular. We need to spice things up around here.

You know me, Snow. Sometimes I can't help responding in kind. As much as I say I'm going to improve, it just never works. I just don't have it in me. The man child is a hypocrite of the highest order. -

You're stupid. Are you drunk? On drugs? Life got you down? Just shut the fug up. You said that you weren't interested in debating me anymore and gave me your signature calling card of a disingenuous salutation. But yet, you keep on talking. I'm not interested in debating you any more than you're interested in debating anyone. I will respond to your continued stupidity though...at least until I'm tired of entertaining myself at your useless expense. -

You're a terrible poster. I couldn't even get through the other thread for your insulting people and calling them out for their maturity. You're a terrible Huddler. -
And that's the "dirty little secret," that has become not so much of a secret in recent years, especially inasmuch as it relates to QB. Teams give up on guys way too early, coaches don't coach to their strengths, and some guys simply need more time to develop than others due to a variety of issues including understanding the transition to the pros, scheme fits, and the fugery of coaches, situations and organizations. Outside of QBs, you can even use guys like Jeremy Chinn, Mike Gesicki, or Haason Reddick as examples.

No, I actually don't love talking about you, and I actually thought you were a good poster at one time, but I've noticed the downturn in your discussion---real talk---I just haven't said anything until now. As for all the other bullsh¡t you're talking... -

Go ahead and block me then. At one point I thought that you were capable and sensical, but the recent seasons have proved me wrong. Your responses have become more emotional and you love playing the victim. Believe me, there are plenty of people on here who know that I am more than capable of providing a good discussion. That's a fact. If you're incapable of realizing that, then it says more about you than me. -

You're the one making assumptions, and I've been the main one talking in this thread, so if there is something that was said to be misunderstood, it was by me. Carry on. -
And it's what I've tried to tell those of us rooting for us to lose to rise up in draft order. Substantively from a historical perspective, who's to say that four or five draft spots and one particular player will be the superior pick in hindsight? If someone tells me this, I'll scoff. Like I've always said, "Crystal balls are overrated."

I didn't realize that saying that I understood someone on an emotional level was "talking down" to them. You didn't really address the point or answer the question that I was making. Wow, pantherclaw. Talking about being emotional for no damned good reason. But you do you. -

See, I understand your optimism on an emotional level, but on an intellectual level, I don't see how at this point you can come to that conclusion. Especially in reference to having the skills to win a ring. He may likely "belong" in the NFL, but that doesn't necessarily mean he should be our starter. -

Interesting. I still think that you may be saying this in light of what we spent to get him. But, maybe not. Let me just say that after seeing Bryce's height, which I believe absolutely affects his play negatively, and to a lesser extent his arm strength, there are more guys on the list for me than that. Like the Tuna said, "He better walk on water," and Bryce hasn't done that. But taking just my general belief that a QB needs a little size (pun not intended) and just looking at the relative results, I can see your point. It may be a hot take, but I can even see keeping Bryce over Stroud if we're looking at the last half of the season. Stroud is not in the company of Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, Allen, Goff, or even Darnold, Love or Mayfield. The jury is still out on him and Young. -
some rando's opinion... Evero *will be* first to be fired
TD alt replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
I generally agree, and I'm all for it, but you can't build Rome in a day (as it seems like we've been saying the last six years now). We're going to have to have some aging vets starting within the youth movement. I can't help but think of Jeremy Chinn...seems like he would've been a great box safety (imagine that). -

Perhaps, but he was actually good last season, not "solid," but good. You never can actually say when the drop-off is coming though... -
some rando's opinion... Evero *will be* first to be fired
TD alt replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
Evero may be fired, and I'd be good with that, but some people (NFL types) will say that we did him dirty. The gutting of our defensive personnel---what little quality we had (that strangely I'm having a hard time remembering) was jettisoned outta here in favor of the offense. At least that was the narrative. Perhaps it wasn't that, but the refusal or inability to invest in better players because we were too busy investing in the offense. Now, I'm skeptical of both (offense and defense), and I know you don't even believe Legette will really ever be what he was drafted to be. He certainly didn't have a great season. Though I understood it, I was skeptical of the Brooks pick. I have always been a vocal supporter of Chuba, and I think that I was right. I was also skeptical of the Sanders pick, not because I think that he's bad, but because I didn't see the TE as an important part of Tampa Bay's or the Seahawks' offense, and for all that they use the TE, Tremble would've sufficed. Don't get me wrong, I believe in TEs being a normal part of the offense, but there's no need to spend high draft capital on them if you're not gonna use them to their potential. The way we run our offense, why even spend a high fourth on Sanders when we already had Tremble? I guess what I'm saying is that they didn't use the picks on offense effectively, and that has ultimately left us wanting on offense and desperately needing on defense. Their seeming method---concept---way they went about business last offseason has not beared the fruit that was the expectation. Hell, we don't even know if Bryce is the guy after all that.
