This feels just like the Eagles game. Both teams will play poorly and whoever makes the least amount of mistakes will win.

Look at how this defense has changed. If we had jettisoned Whitehead after the first few games I'd say our defense would have been even better last year then it was. While the Defense gave up 571 yards against the Vikings, they didn't get any help from the Offense until the last half of the 4th quarter. I'd say the Defense is extremely competitive, top 10 almost, and they've had just as much of an overhaul as the offense, so why should we give one half of the team a pass, and the other not? We have a competitive football team...wild card capable if our play calling and QB can play smart. The biggest issue is cashing in when it counts, and we fail to do that almost every year. We lose to teams we shouldn't, and then finish the year with 3-4 straight meaningless wins. I'll complain here and then on Sunday my un-happy ass will still be planted watching the team play. I just wish there was a more consistent product on the field. There are flashes of a great team, but that's about it.

There seems to be this go lucky happy post every year about this team. 'shucks guys we're going in the right direction!' and then the team never steps up. Tired of the narrative we are 'just a few players/plays away!' Should change the name to the Carolina Almost's.

Its something that the players and coaches need to seriously consider. It seems no team gets out of a Thursday night unscathed. Why risk it?? especially now that you have an extra game in the season, you can account for the loss and hopefully make it up down the road. Richard Sherman preached hard on how bad it is to have those games and I'm sure he is the silent majority on that.

No where near as bad as the Kaepernick button up the superman shirt. That has me heated to this day

This team was lucky to win the 3 games we did. Without CMC as his safety valve, Sam is the same old QB that he was in NY. Our Oline won't get better all season either. Now its just a matter of how many games will we win to push us out of the top 10 in draft picks.

That's been the Panthers ever since I started watching them in 2001. Aside from most of 2015, and I believe the final game at the old Giants stadium, they can't blow a team out.
-
The outburst should at least encourage you that he wants the ball, and he is probably unhappy about the plays they are making him run, come back routes and out routes aren't what he's good at.
-
Me again...looks like Sam is settling in nicely back to his Jets days. He hasn't changed, CMC made him look better then he is.

I hope you are 100% right, believe me. We need someone that can cash in on our elite WR core that we have. With him throwing into double coverage...someone is out there 1v1 or even open and he missed their read, or perhaps never got to that read due to pressure. I hope we struck gold with him so only time will tell.

I'm still on the fence with Darnold. I think he's gotten away with a few throws that were VERY risky. double and even triple covered receivers and the ball went incomplete that could have been INTs. I thought to myself a few times 'why did he try to make that throw?' I think he still has some issues making the smart throw and we've dodged those bullets so far...I feel there will be a game coming up soon though that he'll put up some ugly numbers.

Winston had 148 passing yards, 50 of them coming off one play. He had 4 TDs thrown with under 100 yards passing, he was gifted that win. Jury is still out on them but as much as I hate Payton, he's a great coach that can make anyone look solid (see Bridgewater).
-
Hoping for the best for them. All they've done for the Charlotte area and basically nation wide with their charity, they deserve the best care and hopefully can line up a transplant.
-
yeah that pictures gotta be chopped a bit, he has breasts that are further out then his stomach...doesn't really add up. But FWIW hope the guy is doing good post NFL life. He had a great shot and it sadly slipped away.
-
He should be thrilled. He now has a QB that'll throw it down the field, most of his highlights are of him running Go-routes and Darnold laying it in his hands.
-
I mean, you are leaving arguably the worst franchise in the NFL right now (next to Texans)...who wouldn't be pumped up?

Fun Fact: Miami turned Tunsil into 4 first round picks.
Dunn replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
We'll see how they build their team. The Dolphins have sucked since forever, no matter where or who they draft. -
Why do these players take all things down to do with their previous team, like its a bad break up

Teams already reaching out to Detroit for Stafford
Dunn replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You get Stafford and if he can stay healthy, you'd get a solid QB for the next 4-5 years that's been proven in the league. The kicker is what it'd cost to get him. -
The man is the ageless wonder. 48TDs to 5 INTs at age 37 is ABSURD. He could play well into his 40s like Brady and still be productive, if he wants to.
