For the playoffs i think you could do a best of five for round one if they expand the playoffs by two teams and give the top two seeds a bye.... But a best of 7 is hockey gold they won't be changing that for the latter series trust me. I will say I absolutely hate this divisional format they've had the last 8 years..... Half the best teams got knocked out every year in the second round because they are playing the second best conference team in round 2.

Nope Tuesday at 8pm.... A huge advantage for the Canes IMO we had a week off whereas Florida will be flying from Toronto to Raleigh today without going back to Miami. Ive watched the Panthers this playoffs and they are not in the same form they were the past two years, Thatchuk is banged up and not effective, Bob hasn't been god mode. Interestingly enough they are trying to reach a third strait finals..... somthing that hasn't been done in the last 50 years.... there is a reason for it that is A LOT OF EXTRA HOCKEY.

Phillys line graded out 9th in run blocking.... the Panthers 10th and the grades were essentially no different.

Strong disagree part of building a future contender is linear improvement, getting in the playoffs and getting that big game experience is how you become a true contender.

Agreed the NHL tends to making watching it EXCLUSIVE instead of INCLUSIVE.... The Hockey is one of a few sports that brings the things so many love about football (physicality speed and excitement) its the only other sport we're hitting is a legal part of the game..... If they made it easier to actually watch the product the popularity would sky rocket. I'm not sure i agree with the shorter season mainly just because it takes most teams 20-30 games just to round into form.

That's the ebbs and flows of hockey man as long as it isn't a meltdown on the score board just power through.... This will be a very gritty low scoring and physical affair.

This will be a low scoring affair on both sides IMO. Let's not forget last time we were a much smaller team and Martinook was our leading goal scorer lol. Two goals probably wins most of these games. Canes are much more physical now and have more size than years past.

One thing to keep in mind is our forcheck has actually had more success than theirs in previous matchups Bob was the difference along with us missing key guys....

I mean they are doing the same thing we do relentlessly forchecking...

The Hurricanes and Panthers play the same brand of hockey.... it comes down to wants it more and who plays better in net. The canes should have more gas in the tank and home ice... as long as we can defend it.

The Canes have unfinished business with Florida.... I'll say that

Doubt I get this series will be a war win or lose that I guarantee... Yes we got swept two years ago, but even then every game was a war Martinook was our leading scorer that post season..... Svechnikov was on IR, Slavin got RKOed by Gudas in game 2..... I won't even predict a winner im just saying I dont think Florida is as good as they were then (Thackuk and Bob certainly aret playing the same level) We had AHL guys playing on line 1 that year Turbo with a broken hand ect. Its gonna be a WAR defending home ice early on is key

Just enjoy the ride man.... They have already exceeded my expectations for this year personally so its all gravy I do happen to think this roster is better playoff build than years past even if not more talented.

Yes we might lose nothing shocking there but whining and being pessimistic prior to a series starting yeah lol. They deserved it last year completely underperformed and got clocked. I didnt expect anything this year so WIN or LOSE its a successful year.... Last year was an all in year and we bombed. That said I like our chances this year the canes will come to play against Florida i promise you that, referencing two years ago when Martinook was our leading playoff scorer and Thackuk was playing out of his mind and them having Gudas knocking our already walking wounded out is yesterday's news. I think every game of this series will be tight.... we have the size this year that we simply didnt have then.... Hopefully it makes a difference!
